    Breed: Boxweiler
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Rottweiler / Mixed. Please contact SSRR (Adoptions@southernstatesrescuedrottweilers.org) for more information about this pet. SSRR provides FREE transport to our approved adopters Do you like the song “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun?” Well then, you have found your “fun girl” …meet our little Rebel! This Rottweiler-Boxer mix is not only strikingly beautiful, she is full of life and love. Rescued from a kill shelter on her last day to live, Rebel’s resume did not include any social skills at all; nor did she know how to act around other dogs. She arrived at her foster home as a wild child, pretty much untamed, but sweet as she could be; thus, she earned her name, Rebel, which means “wild spirit but a loving heart.” Rebel has now been professionally trained to be calm and play nice with other dogs. In the past, she wanted to play; however, she has now learned there’s a better way to make doggy friends than approaching them like a linebacker. Rebel’s trainer uses only positive reinforcement through communication and praise; there is no punishment or use of correction collars. The lucky adopter selected for Rebel will be someone who will continue these very effective training methods. She’s silly; she’s sassy; and she will make you laugh. This little girl adores people, and she will win your heart in a matter of minutes. She loves children, especially if they have boundless energy to play with her. She thinks toys are one of the world’s best creations, and loves to chase a ball, running a few extra laps before she brings it back ….Isn’t that how you’re supposed to play ball?? When Rebel is not playing, this love bug wants to cuddle, while staring into your eyes for reassurance that you are happy with her. Rebel is approximately 1 ½ years old and weighs 45 lbs.; she is housebroken and crate trained. She is also highly intelligent-- there is no limit to her ability to learn new things. Rebel wants her very own family who will love and protect her. If you’re looking for unconditional love, along with a best buddy to hang out with, Rebel is your perfect match. Approved applicants (in Houston or surrounding areas) will get to meet with Rebel’s trainer and learn his techniques so that a transition into a new home will be consistent with her training. Our sincere thanks and appreciation goes to Cynthia Barker (www.cjbarker.smugmug.com) for the wonderful photos of Rebel. Step 1: Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED Step 2: Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days). Step 3: After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators. The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process, Step 4: Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract. Step 5: Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review. SSRR is very serious about the homes our dogs are placed in and want to ensure they never end up homeless again. If you have any questions, please email us at rottie.info.ssrr@gmail.com . Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescued Rottweiler! If you are interested in adopting this Rottweiler, please fill out an Adoption Application today.

    Gino

    rescue
    Breed: Boxweiler
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Rottweiler / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Teresa (teresakopacki@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Meet GINO!! Gino is an approximately 6 month old, currently 16-18 pound, neutered male puppy. (Previous owners say mom is a Boxer, and dad a Rottweiler. Vet thinks some terrier in there too). He will likely be on the larger size full grown. The owners of Gino's parents no longer wanted him and his littermate, so a neighbor took them in temporarily. He is a somewhat shy boy at first, but comes out of his shell with a little love and encouragement. He is food motivated, and would be an excellent candidate while young for a training class. He is good in a crate, and has done very well with potty training. Routine and consistency is key! He is good with other dogs and has shown no interest in the cats in his foster home. He is current on age appropriate vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. Comes with a health certificate. Preferred home has experience and knowledge with the breed/s mix, a secure fenced in yard he can play in, and another furry friend to play with. Gino is currently in a foster home in San Antonio TX and can be transported to your area if adopted. Local adopters must meet same requirements as out of state adopters. Adoption fee is $170, and transport fee to the East coast via Rescue Road Trips is $185. CONTACT Teresa at teresakopacki@gmail.com for an application or for additional information, or call Michelle at 210-535-5480.

Posted Breed: Boxer / Rottweiler / Mixed (short coat). umford is an elegant Boxer-Rotweiler mix, brown with a white chest and natural (undocked) tail. He will be 6 years old this July (2017), but you wouldn't know it by his puppy like energy, curiosity & playfulness. Mumford loves to run, especially on leash next to you riding your bike. If you run on foot with him, he may drag you along the first mile or two. He is a fantastic soccer player & loves to chase around his 10" Unbreakaball. In typical boxer fashion, he uses his paws when wrestling & playing almost always, but is very aware of his space when around small kids or animals. He loves to chew on nylabones & you will never be lacking in kisses from this affectionate pup. A special treat for Mums is carrots (especially frozen ones) & yogurt frozen in his kong. At the end of the day, Mumford loves nothing more than to snuggle next to you (or on your lap, despite his 70 lbs), get lots of affection & go to sleep. He's good about sharing your bed, but also content to sleep in his own on the floor. He is also familiar with crates & crate training from his first 3 years of life. Mumford was his foster’s first dog; adopted when he was 4 weeks old. So he got to welcome his (older) adoptive doggie brother and his two human siblings. Mumford is as curious as the children, so he loves to follow them around, picking up food they spill/drop & smelling around whatever the kids are exploring. Mumford does not enjoy being sat on or surprised by little ones, so we've done our best to encourage our kids to respect our dogs' space, especially when they are laying down & resting. He's never shown any aggression toward children, ever. Mumford is highly anxious around loud noises, so gunshots, fireworks or thunderstorms send him hiding under whatever he can fit. He lives with his adoptive doggie brother, & in the last couple years developed some competitive/possessiveness around special toys or treats. Never directed at humans, just our other dog, which has led to several scuffles. For this reason he needs a new forever home, ideally as the only dog, with an active family willing to patiently help him recover some socialization skills with guests (he obsessively licks new friends) & new dogs (he's anxious greeting new dogs due to a past incident in which he was chased down by an unstable, territorial German shepherd at a local dog park). Mumford would thrive with regular walks, runs, bike rides, hiking or swimming - the key for him is active & mentally challenging. He loves water challenges, especially swimming, chasing sprinklers or bubbles. He is also great at playing hide & seek, be that yourself, your kids, or carrots hiding, and enjoys discovering or finding them. We love this sweet, amazing pup. And unfortunately, his energy level exceeds what our family is able to currently provide for in his best health & benefit. He is a very responsive & smart dog, knows the basic commands in addition to a few tricks. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Mumford is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.

    Breed: Boxweiler

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Rottweiler / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Tracey (tjsadler1980@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Email T.A.R.A. | T.A.R.A.'s Web Site | On-Line Application Dunn is a young fellow who enjoys both exercise in the yard and snuggling on the couch. He gets along well with most other dogs, loves to initiate a game of tug-o-war, and takes correction very well when the other dog is no longer interested in playing. However, we would not recommend that he be in a home with a cat or rabbit, due to his very high prey drive. Dunn is very smart and incredibly food-motivated, so he’s been incredibly easy to train. He does well in his crate during the day, and obeys Leave It, Wait, Sit, and a host of other commands taught to him by his foster mom. Although this handsome fellow seems like the perfect family pet, he would actually prefer to not be in a big family. He has very high anxiety when meeting new people and prefers only being around a small circle of humans (and preferably calm, adult humans at that), whom he has been introduced to slowly & carefully – he’s kind of a doggie introvert, one would say. We’re looking for a home for him that will honor his boundaries, not push him to be very human-social, and will help him be the best dog that he can be. Approximate Birthdate: 06/2013 Adoption Fee: $150 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial . Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
