    Regina

    rescue
    Breed: American Eskimo Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (long coat). Regina is a beautiful, happy little dog who is active and loves the company of other dogs. She also loves her toys and her bed. Because she is so shy with people, Regina is still working on being leashed up to go for walks. But when she's able to do so, she enjoys hitting the trails with Dogtown caregivers and regular volunteers. Regina was born in 2014. She arrived at Best Friends somewhat unsocialized and remains skittish of new people and situations. But she has come a long way at the Sanctuary and is slowly learning to trust people. She's also making progress on housetraining and riding in a car.

Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (long coat). Adoption Fee: $325 + $50 training deposit. Hi there!! My name is Keiko and my foster Mom tells me I am a handsome little dude, what do you think?? I am a very happy puppy looking for my forever home, I wonder if that could be you!!! Let me tell you a bit about myself so we can make sure that you and I would be the perfect fit before you decide to bring me home. I am quite the energetic little guy!! I enjoy all the doggie toys in the house, the more the better!! I love to play with my foster siblings and believe me when I tell you that they have a hard time keeping up with me. I am not too fond of the hot weather and what do you expect, after all I am an Eskimo dog. I do like to cool off in the little doggie pool that my foster Mom set up for us, I don’t know how to swim yet but I love to put my paws in the water. I am approximately 14 weeks old and about 16 pounds. I am crate trained and will sleep there at night but to tell you the truth I would rather be cuddling up with you. Did I tell you that I am a master at that cuddling stuff!!! We are working on some basic manners right now and I think I am getting it, so maybe we can work on that together....did I tell you I love treats!!! I can walk on a leash and I am doing pretty good at that. We are working on my potty training and I have come a long way, but I still have an accident in the house once in a while, which is expected after all he I am still a puppy and with your patience and guidance I will have it down in no time. I have not been around children or cats yet but I think I'd likely do fine with them. Whoever ends up adopting me will be very lucky, because my foster Mom says that I am the sweetest little guy - could it be you? Keiko's adoption fee is $325 + $50 training deposit that is refunded upon proof of completion of an obedience course. All dogs come fully up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm tested, de-wormed, on flea and heart worm preventative, and spayed/neutered. If interested in learning more or adopting please fill out an application on our website at www.buffalocares.org.

    Breed: American Eskimo Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (medium coat). Meet Chase of Sanford, FL Chase is a high energy little boy who weighs about 15 pounds. The shelter estimated his age at 6 to 8 years old based on the condition of his teeth at intake, but his foster says NO WAY, this is a juvenile and he's no older than 2 years or at the most 3 years old. And what a cute little peanut he is! Chase is very smart, curious, sweet, and eager to please. He has a very well balanced personality with no aggression and he is a totally adorable Eskie. He loves his crate and naps in it when he's tired, which is rare. He gets along with other dogs and would love a sibling to run around and play with, especially if he is going to be home alone all day. Chase would love a home with a fenced back yard or he needs an owner committed to long daily walk. If you are interested in adopting Chase, please complete our online adoption application at www.eskierescuers.org. Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. Jett of Kiss...

    rescue
    Breed: American Eskimo Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (medium coat). Meet Jett! Jett is SUPER playful with TONS of energy and he has an amazing personality……and it doesn’t hurt that Jett is quite possibly the most gorgeous Eskie you will ever lay eyes on. He is perfection. The shelter where Jett was staying after he was found as a stray estimated his age at 3 years. His foster thinks he’s probably younger, perhaps closer to 18 months. Jett gets along fine with other dogs and he loves to PLAY, so a home with another playful young dog would be ideal. When Jett has encountered cats he’s ignored them, so he doesn’t appear to have a high prey drive. Jett is high energy and he needs LOTS of exercise. He is super-fast and should he get loose he will take off running like the speed of light. A fenced yard is required for Jett. He loves to run, so an owner who likes to jog/run every day would be a particularly good fit for Jett. A short/slow daily walk will not be enough exercise for him. Jett is super playful and he likes to help you with your housekeeping chores. He will steal the socks in the laundry pile as you are trying to fold them and will attack the scary vacuum cleaner while you are vacuuming the house. He is sure he is helping you…… Jett is quite affectionate, VERY smart and he is a sweet boy. He is nervous of new situations and people and may fear growl a little bit initially, but given some quiet time to decompress and a few extra tasty treats, he will come around quickly. Jett is smart and knows how to get his way, so it is important that his owner understand the breed and Jett’s need for a calm, consistent, confident leader. While Jett is good around most people, it is probably best that he not be in a home with very young children. If you are interested in adopting Jett please complete our online adoption application at www.eskierescuers.org. Breed: American Eskimo Dog

Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (medium coat). Meet Eddie! Eddie is a very gentle, laid back boy and he would make a wonderful companion dog for the right person. He likes to go on walks and is good on a leash - he's quite sure with an every day walk, he could get VERY good on a leash! Eddie is a little wary and reserved and it does take him some time to warm up to you, but once he does, he adores you and is very loyal. Eddie loves attention and to loves be petted, but he is not really a cuddler or enjoy being picked up. He does not jump up on any furniture and prefers to lay on the floor next to you. Right next to you. At all times. Eddie gets along with other dogs, but does not like assertive male dogs or younger dogs that get in his face. Actually, he is quite smitten with females dogs! We recommend a home where he could be an only dog or have the company of an older adult female dog. He is particularly attached to his male foster and would probably like a home with a male owner. We do not recommend that his forever home have any kids, as their high energy and activity level would be too much commotion for Eddie. If you are interested in learning more about Eddie or adopting him, please contact dyan@eskierescuers.org or complete our online adoption application at www.eskierescuers.org. Frosty of Sp...

    Breed: American Eskimo Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (medium coat). Frosty from MN is doing very well adjusting to becoming Frosty of FL. ❤ He is a sweet, loving 6 year old little guy who sure loves his people and will quickly become your "white shadow". Frosty is content to sit or lay by you as long as you'd like to pet and love on him, but when you are done he is just as happy to find a place to lay on the floor and just be close by. He is rather submissive and will offer you his belly on a regular basis. When we picked him up at the airport, while he was happy to be let out of his crate and get a chance to potty, he did not appear overly stressed or frantic and after some loving quickly fell asleep next to me during the car ride home. Introductions to our dog went very smoothly and we had a peaceful first night sleep with both of the fur babies on or close to our bed. That says a lot about Frosty. He has proven to be a pretty adaptable guy He is getting along well with his 14 year old Yorkie foster brother. We had no problems introducing a second male into the household and although I can't say they have become best buddies yet they definitely have "each other's backs" while chasing or barking at squirrels and other disturbances near the pool enclosure. Frosty will occasionally try to be assertive (not aggressive) when it comes to attention, treats, toys and meals but is easily correctable and will back off when told. He knows he has to share and wait his turn, he just needs to be reminded. As far as change of location/climate: Frosty is doing well adjusting to his new surroundings. He definitely prefers the A/C and would rather be inside than out. He also seems to prefer the cooler wood floors rather than a rug or the furniture. He is still getting accustomed to the almost daily sounds of lawn mowers, trimmers, etc. and like all Eskies will alert you to any unusual sight or sound. "No" and "come" work best to get him to settle at those times. I think he now understands screens as he didn't "see" them a couple of times when excited and bounced off them. The pool doesn't seem to phase him and thankfully he doesn't try to drink out of it. We are still helping him understand that the screen enclosure is not REALLY outside when it comes to going potty . We have been no accidents in the house, but he has pooped on the lanai a couple of times. Last two occasions I saw it happening, yelled, he stopped and I rushed him out the door where he finished. So he's learning. Poor guy.... it's like "but I can see and smell the grass" . Frosty seems to love everyone. We had a lot of company here one weekend and he did well with both kids and adults. Of course everyone is first greeted by the typical protective"ferocious" yap that sounds like he's going to rip your ankles apart but after everyone says hello he settles quickly and is happy to accept all the loving anyone is willing to give him. ❤ Frosty has had some health issues in the past but he is now happy and healthy. His IBS is in complete control with one pill a day that he eagerly takes each morning with a piece of cheese and a controlled diet. His coat is full and soft and fluffy. We have not been on any car rides, since the trip home from the airport. He was fine then and his previous foster said he enjoyed car rides so I don't see any issues arising there. He is fine on a leash in our yard but we haven't been on any long walks in public yet. Frosty is an explorer and left to his own devices can get into mischief. Garbage cans need to be closed or out of reach, and no food left unattended on tables, because given the chance, he will check it out . He is crate trained and we usually put him in his crate when we are going out, to limit his "exploration". With those things noted and avoided he has been a fun little house guest and we are sure someone will fall in love with him and give him a furever home soon. I could probably go on more but I think you have enough to go on. He is surely a loveable cutie when he can't get himself in trouble ❤❤❤ Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. Breed: American Eskimo Dog

Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog (medium coat). Meet Nike of Miami, Florida! Are you looking for an affectionate, smart, well-mannered, playful boy who gets along with people and dogs alike? Nike is a very young at heart 8 year old sweetie pie. It’s hard to believe his age since he loves to play fetch with balls, toss with plush toys & chase with dogs. He doesn’t mind if you don’t feel like throwing the ball because he knows how to bounce it & toss it for himself! Besides playtime, Nike has many other favorite activities. He loves to relax on the couch with you, especially if it includes belly rubs & head scratches. He is happy to go on car rides. He loves to take walks on a leash. He enjoys having his fur brushed. He will sit politely to receive his meals and treats, for which he patiently waits for his turn with my other dogs. Nike is not a barker but will alert you if there is someone at your door. He loves receiving guests, especially if they give him cuddles! Nike is housebroken & will go outside to relieve himself but also knows how to use a pad if you leave him alone for a long time. Nike is heartworm positive so his new family will need to continue his gentle kill treatment and keep him on a monthly ivermectin based heart worm preventative for the rest of his life . Nike is happy to get pills as they are often wrapped in delectable treats or just hidden in his food. For more information on the gentle kill heartworm treatment: http://www.eskierescuers.org/info/display?PageID=11624 Nike is scheduled for a neuter and dental in the next few weeks and will be ready for his forever home after that. Nike is located in Miami, Fl.
