COURTESY POSTING FOR K9 RESCUE AND REHAB, AUBURN IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET MISS VICTORIA PLEASE EMAIL TAMERA@K9RR.OR AND INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER. Beautiful Victoria. She's an easy going girl... that has her periodic burst of energy to run around the yard... and then she's back to being calm and reserved. She's a very observant girl that likes to stay back and assess her surroundings before engaging with new people... that is, unless you have a pocket full of treats! Victoria is somewhat of a shorty but quite solid and weighs about 60lbs. She is about 2ish yrs old. She's selective about her doggy pals so being an only dog in the home is a must... and no small dogs or cats. Because she is a bit reserved an adult only home or kids over 16 would be best.

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Husky / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Darling Cece is a silly, A very energetic husky heeler mix is 3.5 years old and weighs 55 lbs.. Cece loves to pull you on your bike or skate board, or just a good long hiking trip will do, too. Cece loves car rides and a long jog is also always welcome. She's a great family dog but because her energy level is quite high, kids must be over 12yrs old. She is fully house trained and crate trained and even though she is a busy girl, she is polite and does not jump on people. She is selective of her doggy pals so no other dogs in the home is best. Although she barks only occasionally, she does 'talk' quite often so she would love a family that will talk with her. Cece must have a fenced backyard. If you would like to meet this fun energetic girl please email tamera@k9rr.org and please include your phone number.

      Location: Seattle, WA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier. Corky is a spry and very charming 12 yr old Jack Russell Terrier who is need of a forever home in the Seattle area. He is housetrained, loves to go for lots of walks and is a very adaptable companion. Corky must be an only dog. It is best he be placed in a home with no other dogs, cats, small critters or small children. Corky lived with elderly people all his life so he did not get proper socialization with other animals. He is an easy-going guy who enjoys hanging out at home with his people. He loves to go on lots of walks, so an active retiree or work from home person would be ideal. We have been working with Corky doing reactive behavior training in a controlled and safe environment. Corky would love for his new family to continue to keep him safe by learning how to manage and navigate his walks. He is ready to move forward into the next chapter of his life. Corky is in good health. He has a history of seizures which is managed with low cost medication. The cause is unknown. He is housetrained and walks very well on a leash. We have noticed him to be very adaptable in all situations from riding in the car, meeting new people and being exposed to new environments and situations in small doses. It is like seeing everything for the first time in his life! He is attentive and curious which is the nature of the Jack Russell breed. Jack Russell Terrier experience is a huge plus! SAVING OUR SENIORS (SOS) advocates, educates and assists in the welfare of senior dogs so that they may know love, comfort and care in their golden years. Please visit our Facebook page “Saving Our Seniors” to learn more about Corky. Email SOS for an application at dog.sos@yahoo.com or call 206-992-3942.

Posted Breed: Mastiff / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). PLEASE WATCH MY VIDEO: https://youtu.be/of1aCbSCOfs My name is Duke and I am a two year old mastiff-pitbull mix who recently moved to Washington from Arizona because we fell on hard times and wanted to make a new start. Now I am looking for my loving, forever home here in beautiful Washingon Stateand here are some things I would love to have in my forever home with you. I am a friendly and handsome boy (if I do say so myself) but I would prefer to be the only dog in a home with an active family. I had kind of a hard life in Arizona so I love people but other dogs not so much. I should also tell you that I need a home without cats or other smaller animals. I would love a nice fenced yard so I can run, play and have fun with my new family plus check out all the great smells in Washington. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on my vaccines so I’m good to go to a new home. I would like a family who wants to work with me on my training and learning more commands. I like kids but I do weigh 75 pounds and am pretty gentle so I would do best with kids who are at least 10 years old so we can play have lots of fun in our yard together. I hope that gives you enough information to interest you in giving me a loving home. Please email bernicebellamy@aol.com to learn more about me and to set up a time to meet me yourself.

Posted Breed: Mastiff / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Hi, my name is Ku'u (pronounced "Coo"). It means "Beloved" in Hawaiian and I am 70 lbs. of love. I lived with my former family for 5 years. Unfortunately they had to move and were unable take me with them. During my time with them I loved their 2 year old daughter and my Chihuahua pal. My Auntie Penny is a cat rescuer, fortunately she reached out to the people at Lucky Paws Rescue. LPR immediately hooked me up with a great, temporary, foster family (contact # for current foster available upon request). During my stay with my temporary foster family, among other things, we’ve confirmed that I’m fine with their 7 yo ‘kitty’. I’m house broken/potty trained, have wonderful house manners (don’t get on or chew furniture) and am great on a leash and love walks. I’m a perfect age: mature but still full of life. I rapidly fall in love with my family and immediately become protective of them. During a recent follow up visit to the vet, post neuter, the vet & staff’s comments included “how calm, mellow and what a love he is”. My current foster family says that I have a great sense of humor because of the funny things that I do – for instance, when my foster dad had his friends over to hang out for the evening & they decided to hop in the hot tub I wanted to soak with them. They wouldn’t let me in: party poopers. Although I rarely bark, I am vocal. My current foster parents are still trying to figure out what my various (cute & not loud) vocal expressions mean. They are also trying to figure out what kitty is saying, but they just don’t understand. The rescue wanted to let you know that I am current on my vaccines, neutered, flea treated, wormed and micro-chipped. So if you think that you want to be my forever home please contact Terry at luckydog115@gmail.com

Posted Breed: Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Darling Ming is a bit insecure when meeting new people. But after just a minute or two, and a couple of treats, she loves to climb on your lap and cuddle. She gets very scared when you try to pick her up so a gentle home is a must. She gets along great with other dogs and cats, and should have another balanced dog in the home to help boost her confidence. Because she's a bit fearful with fast movement, an adult only home is best. Ming is about 2yrs old and weighs about 12lbs. She is currently being fostered in the Tacoma area. If you would like to meet this little sweetie please email tamera@k9rr.org and include your phone number.

Posted Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Pebbles is four-year-old Blue Razor Pit-bull. She could be mix with Staffordshire Terrier. She is truly the best girl ever! Beautiful Pebbles is so loving and affectionate and loves everyone she meets! Lovable Pebbles was rescued from a high kill California Shelter just as her time had run out. This awesome and beautiful girl weighs just 49lbs and is a perfect size! Pebbles loves all big dogs and dogs her size but gets a bit dominant with little dogs. She constantly wags her tail and gives kisses galore. Pebbles does very well on the leash and cannot wait for daily walks, runs and outdoor adventures with her new active family. Pebbles is very outgoing, working on all her basic commands and is house trained and crate trained. She loves the outdoors, but settles down very well in the house and enjoys her cuddle and nap time! Pebbles kind and gentle spirit will be a great match for dog savvy kids. Beautiful Pebbles love car rides and outdoor time and will make great hiking or walking partner. We’ve not tested her with cats yet, but believe she would do best in a home without kitties. Pebbles loves car rides and playing fetch and is very easy to have around. She is curious and outgoing and is super playful. Pebbles can’t wait to get going on a training class with you to continue her education and get everyone on the “same page”. Beautiful Pebbles is spayed, completely vaccinated and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $225. She is looking for an active family to foster or adopt her and she will provide them with tons of entertainment and love and loyalty. For any questions email Ellen at ellen.second.chance@gmail.com. To apply for her right away and to set up a meet and greet, please complete an online adoption application at www.secondchancedogs.net. Pebble's affection and loyalty will amaze you and make you all so happy that you helped this most deserving and darling dog. P.S. No cats for this baby!

Posted Breed: Boxer / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Bandit is looking for his Smokey! My name is Bandit and life is a bit lonely without my own Smokey playing with me. My owner was a homeless man and he found out that he has some bad health issues so he can no longer take care of me. He checked into a motel for a night with me and in the morning he left me behind with a note stating that he was sorry but he felt as if he had no choice and could someone please make sure I find a wonderful forever home. The motel contacted the SEN Rescue and Sanctuary and those nice people took me in after they checked with the big government people to make sure it was OK for them to find me my forever home. So now I got the official stamp of approval that I am ready for my forever and I am so really to find my family to be with. Here is what the wonderful people have to say about me. I am a Boxer/Pit bull mix and i'm about 7 to 8 years young. Please don't worry about my age as I feel it is a perfect age. I still am full of life and want to run and play with the ball but also love curling up on the couch and watch a good movie like "Smokey and the Bandit" (wink, wink).. They also say that I am dog and YES cat friendly and love all people but I AM SUPER FRIENDLY WITH GENTLE MEN. I might not be the best with little kids only because I am a bit big and could knock them over but not on purpose. I am neutered and current on my shots. If you would like to know more about me please contact Terry at luckydog115@gmail.com or at 253-229-6044.

Posted Breed: American Bulldog / Basset Hound / Mixed (short coat). COURTESY POSTING FOR THE PIT STOPS HERE. We are guessing Bentley may be some sort of Bulldog or Bassett hound Mix aprox. 6 yrs. old, weighs about 69 Lbs. He really loves to be with people and is heartbroken that his family surrendered him due to financial stresses. Bentley was raised around infant children whom he loved very much. He enjoys playing fetch, and enjoys his training sessions. He loves to chase a ball, and he loves to play in the kiddie pool. During his stay here he has enjoyed many play sessions with a “balanced” female doggie companion. Bentley has asked us to find him a family that has a fenced yard, perhaps a calm female doggie friend, and owners that will have time for him, preferably a stay at home adult. He has lots of love to give… who will be the very lucky winner to adopt this big lug to have as their new companion… Could it be you? Please call 360-914-4252 and apply with Karen.
