Posted Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). COURTESY POSTING FOR K9 RESCUE AND REHAB, AUBURN IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET MISS VICTORIA PLEASE EMAIL TAMERA@K9RR.OR AND INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER. Beautiful Victoria. She's an easy going girl... that has her periodic burst of energy to run around the yard... and then she's back to being calm and reserved. She's a very observant girl that likes to stay back and assess her surroundings before engaging with new people... that is, unless you have a pocket full of treats! Victoria is somewhat of a shorty but quite solid and weighs about 60lbs. She is about 2ish yrs old. She's selective about her doggy pals so being an only dog in the home is a must... and no small dogs or cats. Because she is a bit reserved an adult only home or kids over 16 would be best.

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Meet Charlie... A silly, friendly, energetic boy that's ready to for his own, active home. He's a very sweet, affectionate 2 yr old, 10lb Dachshund mix. He gets along great with other dogs and would love to have another playmate in the home. Charlie is very active so needs lots of walks and playtime. He's well house trained and he doesn't chew on anything but his own toys. He does get a bit anxious if left alone for too long so unless there is another dog in the home for Charlie to play with, a stay at home or work from home person would be best. Children must be over 10yrs old.

Posted Breed: Shepherd / Hound / Mixed (short coat). Hi! I'm Zulee! I arrived from Mexico where most of us start our lives as street dogs. I was lucky enough to end up in a loving foster home where they taught me excellent house manners and how to be a pet. I lived in that casa with 3 other dogs. I'm now in a loving home in Issaquah with another dog who I love to chase and wrestle. Because I'm young and have lots of energy, a home with a yard where I could be supervised to run off some energy would probably be best. I currently live with cats but I would chase them if not watched so a home without cats would be best. I would not be a good choice for a family with small kids but I think I would LOVE to have older kids who liked to do outdoor activities. I have a lot of energy so I really need an owner who likes to bike, run, hike, or just generally enjoys being active and wants a pal to do that with them. I get excited when I see other dogs on walks so I'm going to need some training on that and also some help learning to walk perfectly on a leash...I'm not bad but I'm only 10 months old so my enthusiasm for adventure sometimes gets the better of me. So let's go over this again...I am a year old, female pup of unknown breed mix who came from Mexico. I weigh about 37 pounds right now so I'm the perfect size to go everywhere with you!. I would love an active family with or without older kids(teens). I would also love an active canine friend who is exuberant and loves to run in a large fenced yard. I also need total commitment to training to make me that best pup I can be! I hope you will love me and I hope to meet you soon!

Posted Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Beagle / Mixed. Meet Nick... a strikingly handsome boy that loves everyone he meets. Nick is about 5-6yrs old and weighs approx 75lbs. His DNA shows that he is an American Staffy Terrier and Beagle! He's very sweet natured and quiet... and he loves to cuddle! Nick is ok with some dogs but it's best he's the only dog in the home. He's great on a leash and he's well house and crate trained. Nick has great inside manners, too, so can be trusted home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. He must have a fenced backyard. Because he's such a big boy, kids must be over 12yrs old and no kitties. If you would like to meet Nick please email tamera@k9rr.org and include your phone number.

Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Joe is an awesome, 70lb, 4-5yr old boy that loves everyone. He's VERY easy going so although he's great with small kids, he'd prefer a much calmer environment. He loves car rides and going for walks, and even an occasional hiking trip is fine. He's not much of a jogger or runner, though. He must have a fenced backyard and he must have an owner that accepts he prefers to be created when left alone. He's wonderful with other dogs and needs to be in a home with another dog. https://youtu.be/0lvKzJSahAc. You can't ask for a better meet and greet! If you would like to meet this sweet handsome boy please email tamera@k9rr.org and include your phone number.

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Lucy was adopted by her owners 8 years ago and she is not longer getting along with the owners children so she is being forced to find a new home. Please help us to find her a loving, committed forever home.Lucy has spent the last 8 years with our family as a loving and loyal companion. We have enjoyed watching her grow into the very spirited, fun loving dog she is now. Despite her age of 9, Lucy is energetic and eager to learn new tricks. She thoroughly enjoys a good hike, jog around the block or a few throws of the tennis ball. When she is not on the move, she loves being by our sides and is happiest when she can cozy up next to us on the couch. Lucy is quick to remind you if she is not getting enough attention by gently nudging your hand with her snout. Because Lucy loves being the center of attention and has displayed some aggression towards other dogs, she would be best suited with an active person/family without young children or other animals. Preferably someone who has experience with strong willed dogs. If you would like to meet Lucy please email lynn.dillon65@gmail.com

      MACY -Tripod...

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: Seattle, WA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hi there all you hoomans out in internet land! I'm Macy and I hear that the interweb thingy is a good way to network myself so I can find my perfect home. I'm a sensitive soul who feels deeply and I am VERY attuned to my hooman's emotions -- which can be both a blessing and a curse sometimes. You see, this is not the first time I've found myself in a shelter setting, I was lucky enough to be transferred from an overcrowded shelter in CA to the Pacific Northwest to a facility that ended up discovering my secret -- I had a tumor in my leg that was cancerous. The good news is that amputation of the leg was the cure and I adjusted quickly to life on three legs. While in the care of the shelter, staff and volunteers took me for walks and the occasional sleepover, and found out that I'm a little picky when it comes to hanging out with other dogs. I did get adopted by a really nice family only to find that we just weren't the right match, my unknown past caused me to be a little fearful and I can tell you that I'm NOT my best when my household and schedule are chaotic. Oh and I am TERRIFIED of cats! I wouldn't even go downstairs if I knew the cat was out! But enough about that, here are my specs: I'm around 5 years old, I weigh a trim 58 lbs -- I really need to keep my girlish figure so I don't put too much stress on my remaining back leg! -- and let's face it, I'm just as cute as the dickens! I prefer the company of adults to children, and like an orderly and predictable routine. My ideal home would be quiet and consistant, and would have the experience and patience to help me work through my insecurities. I'd really prefer to be the only pet in my home, but I might be able to resign myself to living with a calm and submissive boy dog with slow and careful introductions. I'm a pretty chill kind of girl, content with a nice leisurely stroll or two during the day and lots of time to curl up on my bed with a good bone. I really need a home who understands my insecurities and will commit to helping me become the best companion I can be, but will also accept me for who I am and be willing to manage my environment to keep me feeling safe and comfortable. If you could consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful girl please email luckydog115@gmail.com and include your phone number.

      Location: Seattle, WA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Welcome Calliope to LAMPR!! Calliope is a darling little Chihuahua who has won my heart with her charming personality. She is smart and sassy hence the "experienced adopter" box checked but what I'm really looking for is someone who will invest the time to train her and mold her into the pup she can be. She already knows how to sit and will be a wonderful entertainer because she is SO food motivated. She is very loving and really attaches quickly. She picks one person to love but I think that she will fit nicely into a family. I'm going to say older kids would be great for her because they could also be involved with her training. She is housebroken and we have been using an indoor potty yard since it's been so cold outside and she does great with that. She likes the crate but likes to be able to come in and out....but give her a treat and it goes right into her little den. She's really cute and someone will be very lucky to have a friend like her!Calliope's adoption donation is $400. She is not yet microchipped simply because she arrived with kennel cough and I didn't want to stress her further. I will refund $25 to the adopter with proof of implantation. If you would like to meet Calliope please email lynn.dillon65@gmail.com. Thank you for considering a rescue!

Posted Breed: Husky / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Darling Cece is a silly, A very energetic husky heeler mix is 3.5 years old and weighs 55 lbs.. Cece loves to pull you on your bike or skate board, or just a good long hiking trip will do, too. Cece loves car rides and a long jog is also always welcome. She's a great family dog but because her energy level is quite high, kids must be over 12yrs old. She is fully house trained and crate trained and even though she is a busy girl, she is polite and does not jump on people. She is selective of her doggy pals so no other dogs in the home is best. Although she barks only occasionally, she does 'talk' quite often so she would love a family that will talk with her. Cece must have a fenced backyard. Posted Breed: Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Darling Ming is a bit insecure when meeting new people. But after just a minute or two, and a couple of treats, she loves to climb on your lap and cuddle. She gets very scared when you try to pick her up so a gentle home is a must. She gets along great with other dogs and cats, and should have another balanced dog in the home to help boost her confidence. Because she's a bit fearful with fast movement, an adult only home is best. Ming is about 2yrs old and weighs about 12lbs. She is currently being fostered in the Tacoma area. If you would like to meet this little sweetie please email tamera@k9rr.org and include your phone number.
