Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125.00. Hi! My name is Dash and I am a handsome, loving, quirky guy. I will need a very specific type of home but I am worth it - I will love you forever! - No kids - No other dogs - Fenced yard My likes: - Snuggling. Right in your face. I may weigh 27 pounds but I have the soul of a lap dog. Most of the time I will take the hint and snuggle beside you if you need your lap for other things. I also like to tunnel under the blankets on your bed but my foster home doesn't allow that. - Playing fetch/catch. I am really good at this game and will play it as long as you will. I love to chase the ball and bring it back. I'll even drop it close enough so you don't have to get out of your chair. - Eating. I'm a beagle. 'Nuff said. I had some extra weight on me when I came to the rescue but have lost it and will need you to help me stay at a healthy weight. - Approval. I am smart and really want to please my family. I bet you could teach me lots of things! I have shown perfect potty habits in my foster home. My dislikes: - Dogs that are bigger than me. They make me very nervous and I may react by barking and even lunging at them. Lucky for me, most big dogs don't react the same way. I often get along just fine with dogs smaller than me, and my foster home has a guinea pig that I pretty much ignore. - The dog park. I will need a home with a fenced yard so I can play fetch but not have to worry about other dogs. - Vacuum cleaners. Brooms. Treadmills. Lawnmowers. I get a bit stressed and will protect you from them by doing my best to destroy them. *** If you read all the way to the end of this narrative and are interested in meeting Dash, please contact us for a private meet up to see what a great dog he is! If you have any questions we'd be happy to talk with you.

More About Beagle Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125.00. Macy was a loyal companion to her family for years but then surrendered to the shelter when she got sick. It's been a heartbreaking experience for her because she was very attached to her people. Macy is now in an wonderful foster home ad getting lots of love from the people as well as the senior pit and kitten in the home. She just adores kids and laps up all the attention she can manage. Macy is completely housetrained. She prefers to sleep next to you in the bed but will settle for a dog bed right next to you. She follows her foster mom room to room. She loves to walk and is good on the leash. Macy came in very obese and her fabulous foster family has worked hard to get her weight down so we will try for better pictures now. She just weighed in at 25 pounds! She has struggled with ear infections so we are working hard to clear those up. Macy is a real sweetheart and gets along very well with other dogs. She would love a forever home where she will be treated as the princess she is.

We will update her description as we get to know her. She does seems to be a very good car rider. She has been introduced to several dogs in her temporary foster home and has done very well. We are hoping to find a steady foster home for her while she is brought up to good health. If you might be interested in fostering her, please let us know. She's very sweet.

Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125.00. Hello. My name is Trevor, and I am here to tell you that I was in really bad shape before TBBR rescued me. As you can see from my shelter photos, I was terribly emaciated. In fact, I was so thin that I was able to fit between the bars of this decorative fence in the run a my foster home that was only 5 inches wide! I hadn't been neutered, my skin was terrible, my mouth was full of rotten teeth and I was heartworm positive. JUST LOOK AT ME NOW! I am on a healthy diet and have gained weight. I was neutered and had a dental cleaning and removal of seven teeth and my skin issues were addressed. I completed my heartworm treatment, so I am ready to be adopted. Because I am 8 years old, I am considered a senior, but I don't feel like one. I have lots of energy and I am able to keep up with the two-year old dog who is also looking for his forever home. I am very strong and pull on the leash when I smell something that has caught my interest. I also like to see what's on the top of counters. :-) I am housetrained, and I am happy to go into my crate, especially at meal time. If you are looking for a great companion who likes other dogs, I may be your boy. I hope to meet you soon.

Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125. Murray found himself at animal control and normally that is not a good thing for a dog, but in his case, it was his chance at a better life. He was in pretty rough shape - he had significant hair loss and ear infections - and he was just generally uncomfortable. TBBR to the rescue! With time, TLC, and proper veterinary care, Murray is now a happy, healthy little beagle boy. His wag is back and more present. He has found joy in toys. He loves attention and snuggles and a soft place to sleep. He is crate and house trained and sleeps nicely through the night. Murray may have had a rough patch in his life, but we believe he has plenty of great years left and a lot of love to give. Please give him a chance to steal your heart; he certainly has stolen ours.

      Jerry II

      rescue
      Breed: Beagle-Unknown Mix
      Sex: Male Male
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Mixed. Adoption Fee: $200. Jerry is a lovable ball of energy just looking for his forever home. He gets along well with his foster family, a cranky senior Jack Russell who is teaching him boundaries, and a young beagle who provides him an energetic playmate to match his own energy level. He enjoys runs in the backyard and walks pretty well on a leash. Jerry is crate trained and is really only vocal when first put in it when the family is leaving, so an apartment or condo is probably not his ideal home. Despite his high energy, he settles down quickly and just hangs out. Jerry is a big kisser and loves to snuggle. Still a young guy, his manners are a little rough but he is very eager to learn and to please. Because Jerry is so energetic and still learning house manners we would suggest him for families with children 10 and older. Jerry is finding the dog park adoption events too stimulating so if you would like to meet Jerry a private meeting would be best.

      Breed: Beagle

      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125.00. Gracie is a sweet senior dog rescued from Hardee County in August. Not much is known about how she wound up in their shelter, but she is full of energy and love. Gracie is always wagging her tail and trying to be involved with our 2 year old dog, and other 5 year old, Jay. She gets around quite well, albeit slowly due to a bad knee. She is currently being treated with joint supplements, and an anti-inflammatory twice daily that helps with the pain and swelling. Gracie loves to snuggle up to you if you can help her up on the couch, but also doesn't mind sleeping on a dog bed on the ground. She loves to greet us when we get home! She doesn't appear to be fully house/crate-trained, as she has peed in the crate and on the tile floors around the home. She tries to circle around the door when she has to go, but doesn't reliably let us know. This isn't an every night, or everyday thing, but it definitely happens. Gracie loves the fenced in backyard, but could do well without a fence too as long as she's monitored. She would do best in a home where someone is always there so she doesn't have to be crated for extended periods of time.

Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: $125.00. Doobie came into the rescue as a stray. We were told that his owner died and other relatives didn't want him. Doobie co-exists peacefully with the other dogs in his foster household, but he really loves his humans and seems to attach to one person and wants to be with that one person all the time. He is completely housetrained and has been left alone for 4-5 hours with no incident. He doesn't like to be picked up but will jump up on the couch or chair and sit across your lap so you can stroke him. Doobie would do best as an only dog with a single person or a couple who isn't gone for too many hours.
