Boston Terrier Dog For Adoption in Little Elm, TX

    Ginny

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Boston Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: Little Elm, TX
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier. ***VET HOLD UNTIL MID-JUNE; ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS*** Ginny is a 14 lbs Boston Terrier that came to us with Valentine as part of a cruelty seizure in early February. Her age is estimated at 7 years. Like Valentine, Gin was an absolute mess when she arrived. Unfortunately, she was in even worse shape than Val – she had virtually no fur, open bloody sores all over her body, raging infections in her ears and eyes, extremely itchy skin, etc. And though her body told us she had given birth recently, we weren’t privy to the details of the ongoing cruelty investigation. Fast forward three months, one extended hospitalization, loads of specialized care, and a biologically appropriate diet filled with all the important nutrients she needed to heal… and VOILA, she has blossomed into a curious, laid back little Boston who is learning that people aren’t all bad, and that other dogs are actually pretty fun to have around. Her ears continue to give her trouble - likely the result of chronic, untreated ear infections and hematomas. Her ears will require special care for the rest of her life so interested applicants should be aware of that. Ginny can be a little standoffish with other dogs at first, but as long as they are gentle with her, she warms up to them. She is no longer dependent on Valentine to stick up for her – she handles herself quite confidently these days.

Posted Breed: Boston Terrier. Hi! I'm Poco Grande but my foster Mom calls me Pocahontas. I'm 12-13 years young and I'm blind from cataracts, but I do see some shadows. I love a soft cushy bed to nap in. I love evening strolls by the lake and sunbathing. I have been struggling with some cervical neck issues that have caused me lots of pain in the past. Foster Mom Lady took me to an animal chiropractor and got me fixed right up. I'm now pain free and feeling good! I am pretty scared of thunderstorms and we have been having those a lot lately. Foster Mom Lady keeps me near her and this helps me feel safe.

    Breed: Boston Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: Little Elm, TX
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier (short coat). **Vet Hold ** Update 5.4.17 Daisy’s skin condition continues to confound the experts. She has been under the care of multiple veterinarians and two dermatology specialists over the past three years, and all they have been able to tell us is that she suffers from “seasonal allergies”. Translation – she’s allergic to different grasses, pollens, dust mites, and that applies to all seasons. The most success we’ve had to date is a result of homeopathic care, a raw diet, and several natural remedies. To answer some of the most-often asked questions: *Yes, she has undergone extensive allergy testing. She is sensitive to all sorts of grasses, pollens, dust mites, and a host of additional offenders. *Yes, she has been on Apoquel (and other immunosuppressive drugs) – that did not help. *Yes, she is on a limited ingredient, grain-free diet. All of ABTRR’s dogs are fed a species-appropriate diet which is 100% grain-free. *Yes, she has been through multiple feeding trials with novel proteins – to no avail. Her allergy testing showed no sensitivities to beef or chicken – the two proteins we feed regularly. Daisy’s foster mom is working diligently with our veterinary team to sort out her issues and heal her little body. We will update her bio as new discoveries are made and as she gets closer to being ready for adoption. Thanks! *************************************************************************************** Update 1.22.17 Daisy is back with us. She was adopted out to her new family with all her medical history. Her new family was very aware of her severe allergies. They still wanted her knowing that she had this medical need. They promised to provide her with her prescribed medications to manage her allergies. Sadly they did not and returned her to us. She's a hot mess of allergies and inflamed skin. We are starting back at square one with her. Our focus is on healing her from the inside out! This starts with biologically appropriate and nutrient dense food. She is eating BARF (www.barfworld.com to learn more). Healing and rehabbing dogs starts with getting them appropriate nutrition. All of this care and nutrition is not cheap! We are only able to provide this level care with your support. If you would like to donate to Daisy's care please send your PayPal donation to donation@americanbostonterrierrescue.org or you can mail your donation to ABTRR PO Box 1286, Little Elm, TX 75068. We are a 501c3 and your donation is tax deductible. ************************************************************************************************************************** How do you do? My name is Daisy! I am a 4 yr old beautiful Southern Belle who will soon be in search of my forever home. I am currently being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. Let me tell you a bit about myself: I am crate trained, potty trained, no anxiety, non-destructive, expert snuggler and I know how to "sit" and "come" on command. I love all the dogs here in my foster home and I am also good with dog-respectful children. My foster home describes me as a lovely, mannerly girl who is a true joy to have in their home. I have skin allergies and I have seen a Dermatology Specialist who has let my rescue know that these are seasonal allergies. I would benefit from a home that has experience with allergies and can help manage through my seasonal allergies. I do enjoy my weekly medicated baths and I do not fuss one bit.

    rescue
    Breed: Boston Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Mason, MI
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier (short coat). Bugsy is a sweet little special needs guy. He is blind and will need a predictable home where things don't move around a lot (no chairs out of place or backpacks in the hall). He would do best in an adult only home or one with teens that are old enough to understand his special needs. He loves to be outside and would enjoy a backyard where he can wander safely. He gets around fine once he's had time to adjust to his surroundings.

    Location: Plano, TX
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier. Hi my name is Angel. I am an 11 year old female Boston Terrier who is best described as docile, sweet, and a couch potato. I love napping and being close to people on the couch or I will hang out in my dog bed if it is close enough to the family. I do well with all kinds of people including kids but I am not really playful or extremely energetic. My current BFF is a 6 year old girl who loves me lots! I am not kennel trained and I don't love spending time outside but I am house broken and trustworthy being loose. I am at my happiest when lounging close to my people and of course snacking on treats. A mean dog attacked me in early February but I am healing nicely. Would you like to have a sweet gal as part of your Sunday afternoon naps? That's me!! Because Angel is a senior her adoption fee is only $50. But if you are a senior human looking for a wonderful senior companion there is no adoption fee. Posted Breed: Boston Terrier. My name is Bonnie and I am about 4 years old. I came to BTRNT underweight and with some skin issues that caused me to lose my hair but that’s being taken care of and soon I will be a little beauty! My foster mom says that it's obvious that I had many litters before I was rescued but the doctor will make sure that doesn’t happen again. Unfortunately I came in HW positive and I also have an injury to one of my eyes but I am all fixed up now and can come home with you in early June. Despite all my health issues my foster mom says I have the sweetest little disposition. I am always happy and love attention. She laughs out loud when she sees my “Boston butt wag” she says my little butt looks like a windshield wiper when she comes home from work. I never bark and I follow my foster mom where ever she goes. I am crate trained and I am doing well potty training. Are you looking for a sweet baby girl who will love you forever? That's me! Butler Baloo...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Boston Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Maryville, TN
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier (short coat). Butler Baloo is an older (vet estimates 9-10 yrs old) that's weighs around 30-pounds. He was turned in to the shelter by his owner that just didn't want him anymore. He spent a week alone, scared and confused until we were called to pull him from doggy jail. But, that's all behind him now and he'll never be homeless again. Butler is current on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. He has impeccable house manners with regular outdoor potty times. Butler is very quiet and well behaved, but we've noticed some minor food bowl guarding with his larger foster siblings. It's very possible a learned behavior from his original home, but we're working on it. He doesn't engage or seek out the other dogs to play with in his foster home, so he'll be just fine as the only dog. Butler totally ignores cats and really enjoys being near his people. He's a low-energy guy that's looking for a quiet home & someone to hang out with and love. The adoption fee for Butler will be $225.00 Butler Baloo is being fostered near Knoxville, TN so please be prepared to meet and adopt him there as we don't ship our kids. Prior Boston Terrier experience is a must and current pet history preferred. Because he may some minor hearing loss, no homes with large dogs or children under 12-years old. If you have any other questions, please email: btretn.rescuer@gmail.com NOTE: Submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston, since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you. Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions. The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., "under 6," as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma. We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog. The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids. Ask them. Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.
