Posted Breed: Boxer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Fran Kreger (Fran@k9homefinders.org), (541) 926-5629 for more information about this pet. Sweet companion boy My name is Chief, and I am about 6 years old, and weigh 73 pounds. I adore being in with the family and just laying beside you while you just relax.. I do love to. play with balls, and in the water.. I love everyone I meet, and also do fine with the little dogs.. I would be a great camping partner. I ride nicely in the car, but will pull a little on a leash.. I am really house trained, and would never soil the house... unless you never let me out. I do have some fatty tumors, but still have lots of good years. If you might be my forever new family, Please email k9kids4adoption@gmail.com for an application, and tell us a little about the home you have for me, where you are located, and a phone number would also be nice....I am waiting. No adoption fee, but an approved application, a great home with a fenced yard are required, and a donation would be appreciated.......Until we have received your completed application we can not arrange a meeting....

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Sweet older girl My name is Monika, and I am about 9-10 years old, and weigh 65 pounds. I adore being in with the family and just laying beside you while you just relax.. I have had a rough life... probably as a breeder. I do love everyone I meet, and adore just being loved. I would be a companion...I am really house trained, as long as you take me out. I do have had my teeth cleaned, but they are worn to where my month doesn't close well enough to just eat kibble... I do best on soft food, and now I am gaining weight. Looking GOOD. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Fran Kreger (Fran@k9homefinders.org), (541) 926-5629 for more information about this pet. My name is Betty, and I am a beautiful GSD girl, about 2-3 years old, and weight about 70 pounds... I am an active playful girl that would love to be with you and cuddle with you at home.. I am a very smart girl... I know sit, shake, down... for my belly rubs..:-)... and I ride sooo nicely in the car... I am reactive to some people, and when meeting new dog dogs. I love toys and the water.. Like most GSD's, a grain free diet would be best for me. I would do best with someone that is active, and has time to spend with me. . I am so happy here, but need lots more love, and a home of my own. If you might be my forever new family, Please email k9kids4adoption@gmail.com for an application, and tell us a little about the home you have for me, where you are located, and a phone number would also be nice... We will forward a copy of our adoption application. Application, a great home with a 6 foot fenced yard, and my adoption fee of $300 is required. I will come with my collar leash, micro-chipped, and all the love you can stand....I am waiting. Until we have received your completed application we can not arrange a meeting.
