Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Hi I am Mr Mo but you can just call me Mo. I am a very sweet boy that loves everyone including my fur brothers and sister. I have a few things I am working on I don't care for my crate I have decided my moms couch is a very comfy place to sleep. Except when there are storms, I get very afraid and my foster mom has to stay with me all night. I am working on that and I don't like to be away from my people I am afraid they wont come back. I have learned to play and I have a big orange ball I carry everywhere. I even sleep with it. My foster mo says I am a very good boy and I am going to continue to work on the things that frighten me. Thank you for looking at and be sure to look at all of my Legacy brothers and sisters they are also awesome group of fur friends. More About Boxer Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com I'm a special guy looking for my special family. I need a family that will have lots of time to spend with me because I love to be around people. My forever family will have to have a lot of patience because I love to play all the time. I like a consistent schedule of when it's time to eat and potty and I will let you know if you are behind schedule. I have chronic selective hearing (I'm deaf), so you will have to learn how to talk to me in sign language. I'm getting really good with commands such as sirsir, wait, down and go potty. Let's meet. Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Hi friends, my name is Hurley and I'm looking for a forever family. I'm very much still a boxer puppy and have lots of energy. I like my toys, I enjoy chewing on things, and I love other FEMALE dogs. Mom says I don't play well with other boy dogs. Mom says some people are worried that white boxers can't hear, but I can hear everything! I like to be by moms side most of the time, but I am content with laying on my bed and napping or chewing on a toy. I get VERY excited when I meet new people , but, but I'm working on not jumping...I think I'm a good jumper! She says I hop like a jack rabbit in the back yard. I don't mind my crate too much anymore and it helps that my two sisters are here when mom leaves. I'm a really good hugger and I love to give kisses! My favorite things to do are play tug of war with my fur sister, take naps in the sun, and cuddle with mom. If you think I sound like a good fit for your family, please let Legacy Boxer Rescue know! I'm not sure what she means, I just like to cuddle and be with you. I get a long great with the other Boxers in my house, I'm a little leery of the other male but I just keep my eyes on him. Posted Breed: Boxer / Mastiff / Mixed (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Hi Daahlings ZsaZsa here. I am back in all my glory and beauty. I was returned through no fault of my own, my previous family had life come up and the maavalous volunteers at Legacy Boxer Rescue took me right back. Let me tell you a bit about me, I'm a Boxer/Mastiff/Visula mix. So I'm a bit of a big girl with a huge heart to love a family of my very own. Momma says I'm a love bug and love my people. I love kids! I am memorized by them because they are small people that love to love on me and I return that love 10 times. I'm pretty good with other male dogs as long as they let me be in charge or at least think I'm in charge. Momma says I'm dog selective, any good male dog can pull that off letting me think I'm in charge. On the weekends my foster daddy camps out with me, that is sleeps in the other bedroom with just me and I love that part. I'm a cuddler for sure. I also think that TV is the bomb! I lounge on the couch and watch TV,the only problem with that is no one feeds me treats and fans me, such a life. I'm a laid back girl with a small bark but momma always says it'll be a huge surprise if someone breaks in our home because my bark is small but then they'll see me and run!! If you want to know more about me, please contact the good people at Legacy Boxer Rescue and they'll get you in touch with my foster momma and we'll set up a date. Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Hey everyone! My name is Hashtag and I'm a spunky boxer boy who's been with LBR for a couple of months now. I'm full of silly puppy energy but foster mom tells me I'm very well behaved for my age. I know sit, down, shake (with BOTH paws, thank you very much!) and high five. Foster mom says my paws are super active so she put them to work. So how does a seemingly perfect boy like me end up with a rescue? I was surrendered by a family who no longer had the time to care for me. I didn't get any training when I was there so I was a bit of a wild child when I first got to foster mom's. She's been teaching me all kinds of good stuff and I'm learning that "Four on the Floor" means I get pet more. I sure do love getting loved on! It's my favorite! I don't remember what happened, but when I was little something happened to me that left several scars. I have a big one on my right side and several smaller ones on my body. Part of my jowlies on the right side are also gone. Foster mom says chicks dig scars so it's all good, but some people have been afraid of me because I look different than other dogs. I don't know why a scar would scare someone off, but foster mom tells me I'm a stunning boxer boy and don't need to worry about those people. Foster mom learned the hard way that I don't like to be confined at all! You can ask her about the door I chewed through or the time I hurt myself really bad trying to break out of the crate. So, she leaves me out in the house with access to a dog door and I'm a perfect gentleman. I don't mess with any of her things but I have snagged a thing or two out of the trash so she keeps it in a different room now. I taught her something too! ha! I live with 4 other dogs and we get along great! None of them really like to play and they are older so I respect their space. I've loved just about all the other dogs I've met. The only time I'm nervous about meeting new dogs is when I'm on a leash. Foster mom says I'm a bit of a butt towards new dogs when I'm on a leash. We're working on that though! In my forever home, I'd love to have a playful dog to help burn off some of my energy. I need a family that understands my anxieties about being confined and is ok with me being out uncrated. Since I can be barky at times, I need a house vs an apartment. My family also needs to be able to continue my training so I can be the best dog possible. #hashtag #lbrfoster #lookingformyforeverhome If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process. Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Hello, I’m Butterfly. I’m a beautiful dark brindle mature petite Boxer lady. I may only have the short fragile life of a butterfly left. I was rescued from the shelter with a Nerf football size soft tissue sarcoma on my front leg that was so large that the wound from removal was impossible to close. Doc says this type of cancer is destined to return. However, it has been over a year and there has been no sign of that nasty lump returning. If it does return, the best way to treat this type of cancer is to amputate my leg; however, my back legs are not strong enough for that so that is not a possibility. Being a mature dog, I’m not as strong as I once was but I can still manage to walk about a mile if we go slowly and I get a few rest breaks. I would much rather be around people than other dogs since I don’t like to play much anymore. I’m known as the fun police in my foster home because I often tell my foster brother to simmer down. I would love more than anything to meet you. You will know how happy I am because my nubby tail will be a blur and I will stand as long as you are there. I so adore meeting new people. I’m not sure I will be able to find my fur-ever home, but don’t feel sorry for me. I have the best foster home and I’m making the most of the time I have left! I really enjoy sunning myself and rolling in the grass, and of course meeting new people! Please think of me fondly the next time you see a butterfly flit by. Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Legacy Boxer Rescue www.savetheboxers.com | info@savetheboxers.com Baymax is the perfect name for me. I am super cute and cuddly just like the Pixar character with the same name. I sometimes get confused about about life as an inside dog. Some things that are puzzling me are why my fur brother keeps carrying things around in his mouth and acting so happy when he tosses them around. It also seems crazy that the people keep doing funny things with their hands and holding a piece of apple or hotdog and giving it to me when I do easy things like come to them or sit. Another weird thing is the dog in the shiny glass keeps looking back at me, but he doesn’t smell like anything! I was rescued from death row. Can you believe it? Death row! How did I get there? How did that happen? A handsome, charismatic guy like me stuck in dog jail; and to top it off, one of the other pups in there didn’t cover their cough and I caught it! I’ll shake it in no time though. Even though my stay in doggie jail was hard, I’m not looking back! I’m getting great care from my foster family. I’m sweet, lovable, wiggly, and super smart! Don’t let anything deter you from making this amazing pupp-o yours. I am partially deaf. I hear high-pitched noises and some talking, but sometimes can't tell where the sounds are coming from. My foster family uses both verbal commands and signs to communicate with me. I know signs for eat, come, potty, and no. I'm learning signs for sit, bed, and off. I have not had a single accident in my foster home and really like using the doggie door. I have been learning to walk like a gentleman while out on a stroll and how to do what my foster people ask me to do. I get along really well with my fur brother (another white Boxer) and his boy. I also love running in the yard, snacking on treats (diced apple, baby carrots, tiny bits of hot dog), sleeping on soft beds, and checking in with my foster people for loves. Like all goofy Boxers, I get the zoomies (sure to make you laugh) and wag my entire body to show you how happy I am. We’ve got to meet! I’m sure we’d be besties! If you are interested in getting to know me, all you have to do is let us know. Like so many people in this area, I have bad allergies so I am currently getting allergy shots. I also need to avoid all grain since it’s in the grass family and grass is what I am most allergic to. My foster family and my amazing vets are working together to getting my itchies under control, so I am not ready to be your dog yet. I’ll let you know when I’m ready. Until then meet some of the other amazing foster pups at Legacy Boxer Rescue. Love, Baymax. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process. I feel like I’m one lucky Penny!! I had to be taken to the shelter because my senior owner and I had grown old together and he could no longer care for me. I am really wishing for my forever home. I think I would like to be in a home with kiddos 10 and older. I am an older lady and I am at an age where I want to eat my food and enjoy my chew bones in peace. I also think I would like to be the only dog in the house. Boisterous dogs can get on my nerves and I can get grumpy when telling them to calm down. I love, love, love people!! I got to go to Barnes and Noble for wrapping presents and it was one of my happiest days! I adored all the attention!! I am so excited to see my foster people when they come home. I buck, spin and cha-cha my feet so they know how happy I have to see them! Like many of us who live in this area, I have allergies. It’s easy to manage though. I gobble up my allergy pill when it is tossed in with my morning and evening soup (kibble with water in it). I also take a joint supplement so I can still have fun feel like playing. I like hanging out with people. I prefer to be where you are and like sitting with my back up against your leg. Even though I am an older lady and my face looks like it’s been dusted with powdered sugar, I still get the zoomies and love it when you play with me. I love playing with toys too. I like to set them up on the coffee table and couch, pretend I can’t see it, then grab them quickly and give them a shake. Going on walks makes me very happy. When I see the leash, I smile and get wiggly with excitement. This little sugar-dusted face lady would love to meet you and be your girl. Please ask to meet me, Penelope. When Mulligan first arrived into foster care it was evident she hadn’t lived a very good life. She was under weight, scared and had no “Boxer spirit”. It took a few weeks, but after some regular meals and lots of loving Ms. Mulligan is discovering what the good life is about! This little girl is a prime example of why Legacy does what it does! As Ms. Mulligan continues to come out of her shell her Boxer spirit has begun to return! In fact, we are learning that she’s a whole lot of sweet and a whole lot of sassy! In fact, she has earned the nickname “Ms. Sassy Pants”! Ms. Mulligan loves her daily walks and does great on a leash! While she’s cruising the neighborhood she likes everyone to know she’s out and about! Who knew such a loud bark could come from such a little thing! She’s also the sweetest little girl that loves nothing more than to be curled up in your lap or next to you on the couch. Each time you walk into the room she’ll greet you with the fastest moving Boxer nub you have ever seen! In fact she gets so excited the back half of her body just wiggles and wiggles! Have you even seen what’s often referred to as the Boxer Kidney Bean? Well, you haven’t seen a kidney bean until you see Ms. Sassy Pants do it! Mulligan is cat friendly and kid friendly but is somewhat selective about her dog friends. Because of this she would prefer to be an only dog. She’s crate trained and almost house trained. We’re still having a few accidents in the house but that’s ok because she’s still learning! Ms. Mulligan is looking for her fur-ever home. Her fur-ever family needs to know she’s had a bit of a rough life and will need a little love and patience. The positive side to this is she is the sweetest little girl and has a lot of love to give in return! Could this be the girl for you? How can you resist that face? So, for the past 13 months, I have been getting medical care and learning to be an inside dog. Now I am ready to become your dog!I have learned about air conditioning in the summer and how nice it is to sleep in a warm place on those icy days. I have learned that climate controlled places are not where doggies go potty. I have learned that I must quietly stay in my crate when my people put me there. I have learned that humans like to say ʺsitʺ and that means my bottom half goes on the floor when my top half doesn't! But most of all, I have learned that I am smart enough, good enough and darn it, people like me!!! (And I love them!!)Although I am chronologically an old girl, I have a renewed lease on life and plenty of energy left after all the many years of backyard confinement and neglect. As a mature girl, I have learned not to ever lick more than a couple of times and I never put my mouth on humans -- especially the little kids (who I LOVE)!! I also don't play with toys or chase balls, but I sure love hanging with my people.I am ready and eager to go on walks and car rides, to hear all about your day while I snuggle with you, and I even will talk back to you!
