Posted Breed: Boxer. The dogs shown in this picture are not up for adoption. They are part of the Rockin' P Rescue program. Can you believe that they were found at one of the high-kill shelters?! They were rescued and lived in foster homes until we could find a new family for them. We are in desperate need of quality families in the AL/GA area to temporarily care for boxers waiting for their forever homes. Currently, we are having to turn dogs away from our program because we have nowhere for them to go. This could ultimately mean these dogs will be put to sleep. Fostering a boxer is a truly rewarding experience - please open your door, and your heart, to a boxer in need. If you cannot foster and have a large crate you'd like to donate, please let us know! We can use it to save a life! Send an e-mail to rockinp@microxl.com for more info. Not ready to adopt me? How would you like to be my sponsor?! Our medical bills are at an all-time high and even a $5 donation can help take some of my cousins off the street, treat their wounds and heal their hearts. Please think about a tax-deductible donation today!

Boxer

Height (in): male: 22.5-25, female: 21-23.5

Coat: White should not cover more than a third of the dog. Coat is short and smooth.
Character: Boxers tend to be very friendly and intelligent dogs. They bond very closely with their family.
Temperament: The breed gets along especially well with children. They also can get along well with most other dogs and household pets. They can be naturally inclined to protect a family from intruders.
Care: The Boxer can get by with an occasional good brushing.

More About Boxer Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Boxer / French Bulldog (short coat). Hello, my name is Moto. I think I am a Boxer/French Bulldog mix. I have a boxer head and face, with Frenchie ears and legs:) I am about 2-3 years old, and I am a great size at about 50lbs, which is all muscle:) I am a Very Happy Playful dog! I love to play with my toys and my foster brother, but I am also very good and chilling out:) I'm ok with most dogs with a proper introduction, and Ive never been around any cats so not sure if I like them or not? I would probably be ok as an only dog, if I wasn't left alone too much, cuz I really love to be with my humans a lot!! I love to snuggle with my foster dad at night but I'm also ok sleeping on my dog bed. I don't like a crate too much, but my foster mom doesn't put me in one, cuz I'm totally house trained! I do need some work on my leash manners cuz I like to try to pull and be the leader, but my foster mom says I'm getting better! I would do best with a fenced in yard and probably don't need to be with small kids, but I love bigger kids that like to run around and can play tug o war with me!!! If I sound like a good match for you, and you want to give me a Fur-ever home... Please mention Moto on your application. Thx, Moto:))) This dog is being fostered near Emerson, GA. Posted Breed: Boxer / Mixed (short coat). Little Ms Bindi was returned to Rockin P. We are so sad for her. She went to a home where she had no other doggie friends and things didn't go very well because she loves her fur brother and sisters. She is now 7 months old and has grown into a lovely girl! She needs a home with other dogs and even loves the cats in her foster home. She is shy so needs someone that has patience with her while she adjust to her new home. Please let us know if you would think Bindi would be a good fit for your home. Previous story - She is an 10 week old boxer mix baby. She is doing great with her house and crate training. She stays in a crate all night without any problems. She is a very smart little girl. She loves her foster brothers and sisters and they play all the time. She is getting to know the CAT and doing pretty good. She has been spayed and is now ready for her new home. She is doing wonderful on her housetraining and knows how to sit and can stay for a short time. She is being fostered near Anniston, AL.
