Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hey Everyone, My name is Graham and I'm a very sweet 11 year old orange & white Brittany guy who is looking for a place to call HOME FOREVER! I love hanging out here in Virginia Beach with my foster family and playing with my foster brother Max, but what I truly dream of is a place to call my very own! Graham maybe 10 years old, but don't let his age fool you he is full of energy. He loves to go out and go walking, running and has shown some interest in birds, but not quite at a hunting level. He does well on leash but would certainly do better with continually training. He loves his belly to be rubbed and enjoys hanging out or snuggling with his people or taking a romp in the yard. This means, Graham will also NEED a secure fence in his new home to help keep him safe! Graham does well with other dogs and loves people, but cats are pretty much unknown but given his curiosity to explore and interest in other animal we advise against it. His foster Mom has been working on commands and also helping him become the perfect gentleman. Graham is house trained, does well in the crate, as well as being fully vetted to included being neutered, micro chipped and up to date on all shots and heartworm negative. HOWEVER, Graham does have a VERY SPECIAL ear condition called vasculitis that will require medication, as well as, routine monitoring by the vet BUT again this in NO WAY slows this sweet boy down! So, the only thing missing is a place to call his own-Is that your Home? If you believe Graham is the Brit you are looking for, please fill out an application online at: http://www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp. After filing out an application please contact the coordinator for the State in which you live. The contact information for the State Coordinators can be found at the following link: http://www.nbran.org/contacts.asp. Graham is currently being fostered in Virginia Beach, Virginia and his adoption fee is 200.00, which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brit like Graham back to good health and readying them for adoption. However is you are a senior (over age 60) like Graham then you both qualify for the senior to senior program, which makes the adoption fee 100.00. Don't live in Virginia or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team who will help bring Virginia to her new family, up to 1200 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Contact Leslie Trenta for information at leslie@leslietrentadesigns.com Thank you!

More About Brittany Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). My name is Albert and I am told I am the sweetest, precious boy ever. I am 8.5 years old, 51 pounds, One handsome orange & white hunk of a boy. UTD on vaccines, HW Neg, neutered, housebroken and crate trained. I am looking for my forever home whom will give me love, attention, walks, rawhides and make me their very special boy. I am on Proin, my only problem is I do leak a little at night, so I do need to sleep in my crate with a “winky wrap”. If you limit my bedtime water and put my “winky wrap” on, this will keep my bed dry. (Some nights better than others.) I am deaf, but I don’t consider that a problem as I respond to hand signals. I do love to get into the Kiddy pool and wade in it. I love my ears rubbed, so I will moan and groan for you. Even thou I am deaf, when my siblings howl due to a fire truck, I look at them and join in, my Foster Mom thinks I am just adorable. If I discover I am outside alone, I will let you know I want to be in the house with you. If you would love a precious boy like me, please put in an adoption application in for me, my Foster Mom would love to tell you my stories. From Foster Mom: Albert doesn’t like to get in the car, but once he is in the car, he loves it. Walks well on leash, does not pull badly. Does his business outside, except for leaking at night. Responds well to hand signals nicely. Loves people & other dogs. Good with cats. Lives for affection. Not picky about food & takes pills easily. Doesn’t guard food, treats or people. Not a barker. Very sweet, adorable boy. Medical Notes: I do have some grand mal seizures and I am deaf, but know hand signals. My last seizure was June 11th and 6 weeks before that. I am not on medicine, because they are too far apart and would not be good for me. Please discuss with Foster Mom as I want you to love me forever. On Proin to help with leakage. If you are interested in adopting me, please visit www.NBRAN.org to complete an adoption application. Contact Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net and/or Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com . for more information after you have filled out the application. The fee to adopt Albert in Texas is $200 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful pets. Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for the last 100 miles.

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). This Very Handsome Liver and White boy is looking for his new forever home! I am a good boy. My name is Thomas, but my Mom calls me Tommy. NBRAN saved me, flea and tick ridden and with some small bite wounds, from a shelter. I am a senior boy (8-10 years old) with age related health issues including some lumps and bumps, arthritis, and hip dysplasia. I also have some chronic breathing issues. I was 10 lbs. overweight when rescued, but now I’m a good weight at about 50 lbs. My health issues have improved with weight loss, exercise, medical care, and good food, but a home without stairs is optimal. They say I am very “soft” because I get scared at loud noises or lots of commotion. I try to leave when I am uncomfortable. I get a little scared in new situations, but I adjust quickly. I am a good boy. They say I’m a very sweet, handsome boy. My tail wags a lot. I like people and other dogs, but NO CATS. I love to chew (my teeth are nubs) and need to have appropriate chew toys or I will find something inappropriate to chew. I love to explore the backyard with my foster sister, dig for “critters,” and chase squirrels. I will need a fenced yard at my new home to keep me safe as I chase little critters! Life is good at my foster home and I am a happy boy, but I would love a “forever” home of my own . I am a good boy. My adoption fee is $200.00 which allows NBRAN to help more of these wonderful pets. If you are interested in taking me into your home, please fill out an adoption application at the following link: https://www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp . Please have your application approved by your state coordinator before contacting Gaye Bricker at BeauBritt2@aol.com to discuss your interest in adopting me. NBRAN has team of awesome volunteers that will help in transporting me up to 1400 miles to my new home! How about it... Am I your guy? I'd love to have have a forever home of my own. I am a good boy!

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Linkin Linkin BO Binkin… That’s me… I’m a 3 yr old O/W Brittany.. All 43 lbs of me loves humans.. I like to pick my own friends, so I’m not good with very small dogs, cats or chickens.. although my foster home has all 3 I would prefer a home without them. I could be an only dog and would love all the attention. At 3 yrs I have not been schooled in manners.. A home with time and patience is what would be best for me. A fenced yard is required, I am crate trained, house trained BUT not leash trained or obedience trained. I don’t even know shake or sit.. Do you have time for me?? Linkin needs a strong handler who is very Brittany savvy. He also needs structured daily exercise as he's a very active dog. A fence is required. It would be best if he's not crated for long periods of the day, so someone who works from home or is retired would be great. He does love to be loved. Overall a happy, rambunctious, healthy young dog. Linkin is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on all vaccinations. He is currently in foster care in Michigan. His adoption fee is $375.00. He can be transported up to 1000 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles of his journey. NBRAN does require a home visit and vet check. If you are interested in Linkin, please go to nbran.org and complete an online application. The coordinator in your state will contact you. The Michigan Coordinator handling the adoption for Linkin is Joanne Denomme. Please contact her if you have any additional questions at jojodenomme@gmail.com

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). When NBRAN heard that there was a high Brittany mix female in a shelter in Tennessee with her two babies, we just couldn't take Mom and leave the puppies behind. So we brought the "family" into rescue knowing we would be able to find good homes for each of them. This is Maple. She's a 7 month old spayed female who obviously looks more like her Daddy (not sure what he is) than her Brittany mix Momma but we can all agree she's as cute as a button. Moxie is Maple's Mom and Mocha is her sister. She is UTD on her vaccines, wormed and is ready for her forever home. Maple is good with other dogs but can be dominant in play with a dog smaller than her. She comes when called . She will chew on her bedding some. She is active and loves to play. Maple and her family are being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $350 to offset the cost of vetting and to help us rescue more Brittanys in need. She can be transported up to 1,200 miles through our Canine Railroad. If you would like more information on Maple, please contact settertown@aol.com.

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hi! Wallie here. I am a 9 year old who found myself taken to a shelter because my owner was going to college and decided she didn't need me anymore. Thank goodness the wonderful people at NBRAN found out about me and picked me up! I am very healthy, in fact I'm a little bit over weight. I'm UTD on my vaccines, HW negative and super friendly. I am good with other dogs and cats are an unknown. When I was at the vet for my check up they found out I have a very mild form of something called Laryngeal Paralysis. My foster mom says it is barely noticeable now that I am happy at her house. Because of this it has been recommended that I be adopted in a Northern cooler climate to keep me healthy. I am such an amazing boy and will make a great companion, don't let my age fool you. I love to play and hunt the laser pointer as long as you will play with me. Did you say squeaky ball? I have one and it is my favorite toy! Car rides?? Oh Yes Please!!! Did I mention I am house trained, walk well on a leash, sit for treats, and don't jump on the furniture. I am a submissive boy and when bedtime comes I am happy to sleep in my bed on the floor next to you in your bed. Do I have any negative issues? Yes, just one sadly. I have some mild toy aggression, but my foster mom is working on it. Please don't let that be a deal breaker though. One last thing, the children in the neighbor just love me, so I guess that means I am good with children also. So if you are looking for the perfect guy to add to your life remember Wallie and email Kathy Miller the Georgia Coordinator to talk about me. Kathy.Miller4072@gmail.com. Wallie is being fostered in Georgia. His adoption fee is $200. He can be transported up to 1,400 miles on our Canine Railroad.

Posted Breed: Brittany / Hound / Mixed (short coat). Hi everyone! My name is Baby Girl! I'm about 6 years old and as sweet as can be. I'm a very lucky girl because NBRAN saved me from being sent to a shelter in Louisiana during the flooding that occurred there earlier last year. The shelters were overloaded already and any dog that was surrendered to shelters faced certain euthanasia. My previous owners could not keep me because I went after their chickens. Another family tried to help but their little boy was allergic to me. That's when a rescue partner reached out to NBRAN for help. Thanks to NBRAN, I'm an "honorary" Brittany mixed with some Hound. My foster Dad just loves me to pieces because I'm very easy going, lovable and sweet. I love to romp and play with my foster pals but when it's time for cuddles, I'm "all in"! I love kids and love to play or watch TV with them on the sofa! I'm housebroken and trustworthy in the house. I'm spayed and up to date on all my vaccinations. My foster home is in Louisiana but I can be transported up to 1200 miles through our Canine Railroad. My adoption fee is a modest $275.00 but trust me, I'm worth way more than that! If you're looking for a wonderful, loving, and playful companion, I'm your gal....Baby Girl, that is! For more information, please contact Denise Turgeon at brittsnbits@gmail.com.

Posted Breed: English Setter / Brittany / Mixed (long coat). Snowy is a 3 year old Brittany/Setter mix who was an owner surrender to metro animal control because the landlord would not let them keep her. She is white and liver with freckles on her face and some liver ticking in her white. Snowy can be a little shy and skittish around new people. One of her quirks is that she gets nervous and reactive when people put their hands over her head. She may nip when this happens. She will go in a crate but would prefer not to. She's trustworthy in the house alone and really doesn't need to be crated at all. Snowy walks well on leash and is housebroken. Snowy will not come when called and it becomes a game for her. She is good with other dogs and prefers watching cats instead of chasing them. She likes standing on her hind legs for a treat. Snowy will only be adopted locally and will not be adopted to homes with small children. Snowy can be a picky eater at times but is getting better. She hasn't attempted to climb over or dig out under the fence. She needs more work on recall. Snowy is totally vetted, microchipped, tattooed at spay site and HW negative. She is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $325.00. For more information contact settertown@aol.com
