Posted Breed: Bulldog (short coat). Maya 3.5 year old Female 85lbs Family Friendly Best as an only dog Crate/house trained No cats Fostered in Everett, WA Hi everyone, my name is Maya and I would love to find my fur-ever home. Let’s take a moment a talk about me. My life before coming to my foster home was one of very limited life experience. For the most part up until recently my world revolved around 4 walls and very limited outdoor experience. So, if you think about that for a moment there is still a lot of the world for me to experience. I have found out recently that I love to go on walks around my neighborhood and we typically go out when it is quiet out so that I don’t get to scared. I have also been getting to go out in a thing called a car and we take a lot of trips to a place that has puppy whip which I really really like. But, my all time favorite thing to do is snuggle up next to my foster mom or dad and get endless belly rubs. I would love a day snuggling up while you Netflix all day. One thing you should know is that I snore, I know, I know it’s not lady like. But we all have little personality quirks and that just happens to be mine and you just gotta love it. My ideal home would be pretty quiet and not a lot of people coming and going unless they live with me. I am not a high energy gal, really an all day Netflix marathon is right up my ally. I really enjoy a good stuffed Kong of goodies, it is the best thing ever. If you need to leave me and go to work that is fine I will be just fine hanging out on the couch or in your bed until you come home. Just to warn you when you do get home I will be very persistent in getting some love and will be more than happy to sit with you on the couch as you take a rest from working all day. Maybe after dinner we could take a stroll around the neighborhood. Foster Mom here: Maya is a very sweet gal that just wants to be loved. Socially she will need patience and training. She is very unsure of herself around new people but if you just give her a moment she comes around. She will be an amazing loyal companion for the right family with lots of love to give. http://www.nwboxerrescue.org/adoption-form

More About Bulldog Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Paige 4 yo Female Fawn 60 pounds Kid Friendly Only Dog No Cats Crate and Leash Trained fostered in Albany, OR _____________________________________________________________________ My name’s Paige and I’m a tall and athletic girl. That may be why I was used for a lot of breeding. When they didn’t need me anymore, I was dropped off at a shelter when my last puppy was weaned. I’m not dwelling on the past though, I’m really excited to be with my foster parents and brother. Let me tell you: I love people! I can’t get enough pets, cuddles, and kisses from you guys! I just burst into wiggles when people start petting me! I’ve been trying out some new hobbies and so far I like: runs with my foster dad, naps on my dog bed, acting silly in the backyard, car rides, and hanging out in my crate. I would love to be your one as I didn't get any socialization and don't get the other dog thing. All you really need is me anyway, I will fill your heart with all of my love and be your forever everything. If you have some space in your life for a big wiggle butt like me and you’ve got time to spend letting me kiss and snuggle you, let’s meet up! I'm a handsome guy and very smart. You would never believe I am 7 yrs old. My extra long legs MAXi-mize my playtime romping. I am a strong walker and my Foster Mom is working with me. I would love to have a large yard to run these long legs in! I can sit, stay, shake, lay down, and fetch. Road trips rock! My short active playtime is always entertaining and I love to make my folks laugh. While I'm not comfortable around other dogs or cats, I LOVE the visiting older kids who don;t scare me. I confess I am a big chick-a-doodle, weenie, ninny, all of those... gulp... I frighten myself sometimes. I am really trying yet for now, I am just accepting the fact that I need to be around calm peeps to be relaxed. I am super happy anytime I am feeling safe and snuggling between my Foster Folks on the couch or lying at their feet. I have a huge woof when someone comes to the door, but a great buddy once my Folks let you inside. Everyone one loves me. You will too! Moose Male 2 yo 65 pounds White Dog Savvy Kid Friendly Must Only Dog No Cats DEAF Create and Leash Trained Fostered in Battleground, Wa _____________________________________________________________________ My name is Moose and I suppose you could call me "Bull Moose", although I am working on shaking that nickname. I am zesty, full of exuberance and also the happiest boy in the world. NWBR placed me in a special school to learn manners and get some structure. I've done very well with the trainer and have learned to dial back my va va voom when you tell me to slow my roll. I can't help it if I am loving life, I mean did they tell Liberace to tone down his glitter suits or tell Pharrell he could not wear his hats and be happy? So, I get a bit over the top once in a while, and the trainer has me convinced to save my cutting loose for when I am told its okay. I need a strong leader to give me the signal that I can run, jump and be Poppapalooza! I am good with being an only pup, since I don't need other pups or peeps to be happy with my life. Plus, I mean I wouldn't want to embarass you, my very best friend, with a bit too much Poppapalooza! I will shower you with wiggles, kisses and love so much that I make rainbows appear in the air. Did I mention that snuggling is my favorite thing of all? I crate fine, yet do you really want to cork all of this goodness for more than a few hours at a time? Have I mentioned my Poppapalooza trick? I need daily exercise, its what my trainer calls my "drain plug", all I know is that wow, I feel like a million bucks when I do lots of zoomies, go for a hike, run around like my tail is on fire or chase a ball for an hour. I tried finding my own entertainment, yet that seemed to cause a kerfuffle, so weird, they discouraged me from doing that by myself. Can you be committed to working out and working with me? I will give you twice as much love back as you send to me and I am ready for a place to call home. If you think I might be you're next pal, fill out an application today! I am a very sweet, quiet and gentle girl. I love going on walks, I have wonderful leash manners, and I have been told I am a graceful prancer. I love to be around people, snuggle, and will follow you wherever you go. Sometimes my affection is overwhelming, but I am working on my manners and learning to give people space. I will happily be crated with something yummy to snack on. My Foster Mom is working on leaving me out for a few hours at a time and I have been doing well! Clyde 3 yo male 65 lbs Lg female dogs & older childern No cats Crate & Leash trained fostered in Redmond, WA Hi there, I'm Clyde, the dog who thought he could fly! I did a silly thing a few months ago and jumped off a tall balcony and broke some bones and hyperextended my wrists. Thanks to many, I've now got some snazzy new braces/boots that will hopefully strengthen my muscles. My foster family says I've been the best boy during my treatment, sweet, loving and patient. But I'm ready to find my forever home! Best place for me would be one with older kids, maybe a fur sister, and a family who is home more than not. My family should have the time to make sure I put my braces on and off before we got out and walk, pay attention to the wearing schedule and also not let me overdo things while I'm still recovering. I'll need to be seen by a vet occasionally to be sure I'm progressing. I love to go on walks, look for squirrels, smell the flowers and hug my humans. I'm a bigger boy so you will really feel it when I hop up to hug. Oh and car rides, they are the best, I love adventures! We are a bonded pair, we think they call us that because we love each other so much. We are never far apart and insist on sleeping close to each other. We can be a handful on a leash but try hard to please, its just so exciting getting outside on a walk, never had that much before. We were at the vet yesterday and there were a lot of strange animals to sniff but we were really calm and said hello to all. We love to lay around and just be close to you and if you get up we will walk alongside you to see where you are going. We are curious about new things, like the garbage can, stuff on the counter and well being a dynamic duo, we work together to investigate. We don't tear stuff up, we just make sure to thoroughly understand what things are, so we can show off stuff. If you want a sweet, lovable, interesting and engaged pair of companions who will entertain and inspire you, this bonded pair is perfect. They need you to love to on and a forever home of their own. Roxy 2017-2 9 year old female 65 pounds Kid friendly Submissive male dogs ok Crate and leash trained Fostered in Springfield, Oregon Hi, my name is Roxy and I came to NWBR after spending my entire life with one family. With a clean bill of health I am looking to find my forever family to spend the rest of my days with. My perfect home would be single-level because I tend to stumble on steep stairs. I live with three other boxers right now, but it took some time to understand the pack. I still get a little grumpy when someone gets in my face or hogs Foster Mom's attention. But, I am easily corrected. Boy do I like attention and to do tricks for treats! You know what they say about needing a strong leader and good directions, I will sheepishly admit that is what I really need and like. Give me your leadership to follow and I will want for nothing more than endless scratches and to give you love. A stay-at-home person that wants me to be their one and only would be okay, yet I might do better with a strong leader and a submissive fur brother to cuddle. Mind you I may act like I want to rule the roost, yet underneath, I need a pack leader to relax and be in my comfort zone. My Foster Mom says that my eyes indicate that I have a sweet soul. If you want a snuggle buddy, I am the one for you- are you the one for me?
