Posted Breed: Bulldog (short coat). Maya 3.5 year old Female 85lbs Family Friendly Best as an only dog Crate/house trained No cats Fostered in Everett, WA Hi everyone, my name is Maya and I would love to find my fur-ever home. Let’s take a moment a talk about me. My life before coming to my foster home was one of very limited life experience. For the most part up until recently my world revolved around 4 walls and very limited outdoor experience. So, if you think about that for a moment there is still a lot of the world for me to experience. I have found out recently that I love to go on walks around my neighborhood and we typically go out when it is quiet out so that I don’t get to scared. I have also been getting to go out in a thing called a car and we take a lot of trips to a place that has puppy whip which I really really like. But, my all time favorite thing to do is snuggle up next to my foster mom or dad and get endless belly rubs. I would love a day snuggling up while you Netflix all day. One thing you should know is that I snore, I know, I know it’s not lady like. But we all have little personality quirks and that just happens to be mine and you just gotta love it. My ideal home would be pretty quiet and not a lot of people coming and going unless they live with me. I am not a high energy gal, really an all day Netflix marathon is right up my ally. I really enjoy a good stuffed Kong of goodies, it is the best thing ever. If you need to leave me and go to work that is fine I will be just fine hanging out on the couch or in your bed until you come home. Just to warn you when you do get home I will be very persistent in getting some love and will be more than happy to sit with you on the couch as you take a rest from working all day. Maybe after dinner we could take a stroll around the neighborhood. Foster Mom here: Maya is a very sweet gal that just wants to be loved. Socially she will need patience and training. She is very unsure of herself around new people but if you just give her a moment she comes around. She will be an amazing loyal companion for the right family with lots of love to give. http://www.nwboxerrescue.org/adoption-form

More About Bulldog Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Stella 6 yo female 60 lbs Submissive Male Dog Friendly Kid Friendly No Cats Crate & Leash Trained fostered in Maple Valley, WA ______________________________________________________________________ Hello, I'm Stella. I absolutely love people, big people, little people, old or young. I love to snuggle, play chase, have my belly rubbed and give kisses. I was born with an underdeveloped right eye and can not see from that side but it doesn't slow me down at all. I like submissive male dogs around because I like a companion, someone to snuggle, tell me I am pretty. Not a fan of sisterhood of the dog kind. I was surrendered to NW Boxer Rescue when the dynamics of the only home I have ever known changed and they felt I would do better in a new family. I have adjusted well in my foster home and just want to apart of your everyday life and family. I prefer my family to be home more often than not, as I really miss people so much when they are not around. Johnny Fawn 8 yo Male 75 lbs June 8 yo Female Light Fawn 55lbs Dog & Kid friendly No Cats Crate & Leash Trained fostered in McKenna, WA Hi I'm Johnny and my partner is June. We are a bonded pair, we think they call us that because we love each other so much. We are never far apart and insist on sleeping close to each other. How would it feel to be used up and tossed out like yesterday's trash? That is what happened to Johnny and June. An 8 year old bonded pair that were used as breeders. Once June couldn't produce puppies to sell for profit. And Johnny had a torn ligament in his knee, that had gone untreated. These two seniors were dumped in a shelter, and not a good one, in Southern California. Other rescues passed on them because of their age and health issues. Due to being breeder dogs, they aren't really sure how to be dogs. So, some paitence, guidance, and structure will be very helpful for these two loving Senior Wiggle Butts. Yes, they are older and a pair, could you be the one to open your heart and home to these two deserving souls. What Johnny and June really need is peace and security. Johnny and June have figured out that they do like having a nice warm, soft bed to rest on. And getting love and attention that is just for them, is the bestest thing of all. They do like to cuddle and snuggle up with their people. Please don't let them feel like they are disposable. Jaxx 6 yo male White 82 lbs Submissive Dog Friendly Older Kid Dog Savvy Crate and Leash Trained fostered in Forest Grove, OR _____________________________________________________________________ Hi everyone, I am Jaxx. I am tall for my size but don't let that scare you away. I won't jump on you at all even when I am so happy to see you. I love to go for walks and explore my surroundings. In fact if you don't take me for a walk once a day, I will cry! I love to be outside so if you give me my own door and a yard to go investigate, you will make me the happiest dog ever! My foster mom said I am such a good boy, I don't bark at much of anything. I haven't met any cats yet so I am not sure how I feel about them. I love to sit with you on the couch and cuddle. Sometimes I want to sit on your lap too but if you say I can't, I am just as happy to be near you. I have only had one owner before this so it took me a little bit to figure out how to be a dog. I still am not sure what this roll around on the floor and wrestle thing is, although I am happy to follow the lead of my peeps, so I will get it eventually. I love people so I am happy to be patient while we worked on things together. I don't really like my crate but if I had to, I would do it, yet I don't really think I need it. Sadie 3 years old 110 pounds White w/ Brown patch Loves People Experienced Boxer Owner Must be only dog Crate Trained Fostered in Battleground, WA Hello, my name is Sadie and I want to love you. I am an American Bulldog-Boxer mix and I am 3 years old. I am a big girl in size and in heart! I love to be with my people and can't wait to have a family of my very own. I have been through a lot recently. I had surgery on both my hips for hip dysplasia so unfortunately, I need a home that isn't very active because I will never be a running or hiking partner. My weight needs to be watched very closely because I can't get too heavy, so gentle walks and small meals are my style. I love to snuggle and just hang out. I've been in homes with cats and don't mind them too much. Because of all that has happened recently though, I've been feeling very vulnerable and feel a bit protective over my hips. I would need to be an only dog as I cannot play and get protective about my hid end. I love kids, yet due to my surgeries and size, older children are probably best since I shouldn't be wrestled with or handled roughly. I don't always realize how big, strong I amm so need help keeping to limits. I am crate trained, and well probably best for me to be in it, if you are gone, because I love food and figure if it looks good, smells good, and tastes good, I'll eat it! I enjoy sleeping on a cushy bed with my favorite blanket, it feels good on my behind and hips. I will likely keep your couch warm, and if your bed isn't too high I may be up there too. I am a super girl in the car and love to travel everywhere my people go. I've been told I'm a bit noisy. I like to bark at the doorbell or knocking and even the bells from TV shows. I am also quite the snorer. Trust me, I can saw some logs! My trainer mom has worked very hard with me on manners and I'm eager to keep learning with you, so a willingness to continue “my studies” is a must. I will need to stay on my medication for my hips for the rest of my life and I'm okay with that. I take it like a champ! I have such a big heart with lots of love to give and plenty of kisses too so keep a towel handy! I can't wait to have a forever home to call my own and pray it soon. I look forward to sharing life together! Moose Male 2.5 yo 65 pounds White Dog Savvy Kid Friendly Must Only Dog No Cats DEAF Create and Leash Trained Fostered in Battleground, Wa Hello, my name Moose aka Zeus - but, you can call me adorable! I am stunning, have the best manners on earth and smart as a whip - what more could you want? I've been to school, knocked the socks off my teacher so she gave me all A's. Yes, I know I'm deaf but you might not know it. I do pay attention to my humans and am a total people pleaser. Some dogs bug me because honestly they are not as smart or beautiful as me. Cats are silly and who in their right mind wouldn't run after something that runs away? So, I'd check off the box, saying no cats. My likes are ALL people and any outdoor activities. You want a snuggle buddy on a cold winter night, that's me. How about a travel pal, pick me for that too. Hiking or long walks along the beach, sign me up. Oh and did you know my fur is soft as silk? Don't be jealous, just embrace it because you'll probably get more friends with me by your side. If you think I might be you're next pal, fill out an application today! I'm a handsome guy and very smart. You would never believe I am 7 yrs old. My extra long legs MAXi-mize my playtime romping. I am a strong walker and my Foster Mom is working with me. I would love to have a large yard to run these long legs in! I can sit, stay, shake, lay down, and fetch. Road trips rock! My short active playtime is always entertaining and I love to make my folks laugh. While I'm not comfortable around other dogs or cats, I LOVE the visiting older kids who don;t scare me. I confess I am a big chick-a-doodle, weenie, ninny, all of those... gulp... I frighten myself sometimes. I am really trying yet for now, I am just accepting the fact that I need to be around calm peeps to be relaxed. I am super happy anytime I am feeling safe and snuggling between my Foster Folks on the couch or lying at their feet. I have a huge woof when someone comes to the door, but a great buddy once my Folks let you inside. Everyone one loves me. You will too!
