Posted Breed: American Bulldog / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Miko here! I'm just over a 5 year old american bull dog/pit/boxer mix who loves to cuddle and play. Even though I weigh in at 74 pounds, I'm a gentle giant. At the vet, they commented I'm "well mannered" and have "gorgeous teeth"! I think I'm unbelievably handsome myself and my fur is sooooo soft. I live in a wonderful foster home with another dog and share very well with her. She and I don't fight over toys, bones or food! I'm even going to obedience class to learn new things-my teacher says I'm a star!! It's nice to meet new dog friends too! I just got all my shots and am ready to find my forever home! I've not been around young children yet, so not sure how I'll be, but we can give it a try. You can find me at adoption events or put in an application to meet me. Go to www.smawl.org for more information on our adoption process and to find the application! ========================= About Our Rescue Group: The St. Mary's Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit, rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, care and placement of abused, neglected and homeless companion animals. Our animals are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered and receive medical treatment before being placed in carefully selected homes. We strive to educate the community in areas of humane education and responsible pet ownership as well as helping to control the pet overpopulation in our area by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals. ===Come Meet Our Pets: Come meet our cats every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Petco in California Maryland. We also have a cat facility in Callaway. The Cat Castle Rescue Center is located in the Callaway Village Shopping Center and is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Please contact info@smawl.org for appointments to meet our dogs. ===Our Adoption Process: It is the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League’s policy to attempt to place each of our rescued animals in a home that is well- suited to their needs. Once an animal is placed from our rescue, the animal cannot be sold, given away or otherwise transferred. If the adopter is, at any time, unable to keep or continue to maintain the animal for any reason, the animal must be returned to the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League. We work hard at matching our animals to adopters, so they may end their search for a loving, permanent home. Temperament, special needs and personality are all factors in our placements. ===Step #1 The Adoption Application The initial step in our adoption process is the Adoption Application. This can either be done online or in person. The Adoption form must be filled out completely including vet references and two personal non-family references. Your application will be reviewed and your references will be contacted. We contact your veterinarian to ensure that your current or recently deceased pets were properly taken care of---this means being current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered. In order to speed up the process, please contact your veterinarian and let them know to expect our call. ===Step #2 Personal Interview You will be interviewed by a SMAWL Board Member or Volunteer either through phone, email or in person. This is an opportunity to learn more specifics about you, your family, your pets and the type of pet you are looking for. At this time, we may suggest that you consider a different animal---one that we may feel might be more acceptable for your situation. If you are completing your application in person, this will most likely be done at that time of completion. ===Step #3 The Home Visit If all goes well with the application verification, we will schedule a home visit. A home visit is required to ensure that your home is everything you say it is on the Adoption Application. It needs to be a suitable safe environment for your new pet. All pets and family members should be home at this time. ===Step #4 Meeting Your Potential Adoptee Once the Application has been reviewed and all references checked, arrangements will be made for you to meet with the animal you wish to adopt, either through the foster parent or the animal’s Case Manager. As a courtesy to our foster families, we do not ask them to show their animals to individuals until we have completed the application approval process. If you have other animals, we recommend a neutral meeting place, such as PETCO or a local park to ensure the animals are compatible outside of their own territory. ===Step #5 Finalizing The Adoption Once the adoption has been approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption. You will need to sign the contract and pay our adoption fee. (Young Dogs Under 1 =$300, Dogs over 1 = $250, Young Cats 2 years and under =$125, Older Cats over 2 years = $75) Foster to adopt over a two week period may be available on a case by case basis. Any applications received for adoptions from beyond St Mary's county line, will be subject to additional terms and conditions available on request. Please Remember: Our entire organization is staffed by volunteers. We have NO paid staff. Our volunteers must work your application around their business and personal lives. We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 2-3 days, and most of the time we are able to respond within 1 day. Please be patient and thank the volunteers you meet for their service to our community’s homeless pet population. === We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We serve the Southern Maryland area.

Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed. Sarah Jessica Barker is a beautiful Pitbull Mix. She came to the rescue pregnant and had 10 puppies. All her puppies have been adopted and now it is Sarah's turn! She loves to play with her canine foster brother and wrestle in the snow. It is not often you see Sarah without a toy in her mouth rolling around on the couch. She is very affectionate and loves her Foster Family. Sarah would do best in a house without cats. Living in a home with older children (10+) would be best for Sarah. She gets very excited and loves to play so she would love to have a large breed canine as her companion if possible :) Sarah Jessica Barker's Foster mom would love to brag about her more, so fill out an application and meet this BEAUTIFUL Girl! We do not have a facility for you to visit. WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to call (248) 834-9419 or email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP , which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $200 for adults and $275 for puppies, which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.

Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed. "Hi I'm Caesar and I really, really want a nice foster or forever family to spring me from my current kennel situation. You see, I was found as a stray on the streets of North Philadelphia. Luckily I ended up at ACCT Philly and they called Providence Animal Center to help me. I am so thankful they said yes, because all the staff and volunteers are really nice! I have had a really crummy life so far...I have been yelled at a lot, hit, kicked and overall just not treated nicely at all. All I want is a family that will be nice to me, one that won't yell at me or hurt me. I try my best to be a good dog...I try not to pull too much on the leash, I get along with every dog I meet and I don't jump on anyone as to not get them dirty or scare them. I'm a very, very gentle boy hoping and praying for a home that will just be nice to me. Is that too much to ask? I hope not...so please, if you have a dog at home already and are looking for a buddy for them and you, please contact Dayna at dvilla@providenceac.org to set up a time to meet me. XOXO, Caesar. " Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email adoptions@providenceac.org. Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets, www.providenceac.org/donate. Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts. Not ready to adopt yet? You can still guarantee the safety and well-being of any of our dogs or puppies by temporarily fostering one or more right in your own home. Visit our foster page to learn about the program. Then, email your application along with any questions to foster@providenceac.org for immediate review. Providence Animal Center 555 Sandy Bank Rd Media PA 19063 (610) 566-1370 Adoption fees are subject to change due to specials or variable pricing. If you are over 55 years old, adopt any dog 5 years or older for only $55.50- included are free vaccinations for the following year. Breed: Bullypit

    Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed. Thank you for your interest in our adoptable animals. If you would like more information about this pet, see the Shelter information below. We would love to help you rescue a perfect pet! What can I say to help you understand that Lavender isn't just another pretty face? I mean, clearly she's got a face that could bring a blind man to his knees, but that's only the tip of the iceberg that is our Lavender. I think I will start with what I learned about her today. First she is a good girl. She sits while being leashed/harnessed, without even being asked. She is house trained. She went potty as soon as she made it outside. She is also trained to sit and lay down. She's got some age on her, we estimate her to be somewhere between 5 and 8. However, she's still spry and loves to run and play outside. She does great zoomies and will fly by you with the biggest smile on her face. When I see a dog like this I often wonder, if they can be so happy given a few minutes to play outside while at the shelter, how happy will she be when she gets to play in her own backyard with her own family every single day! She's listed as a pit bull, and I agree she's got pit in her, but if you look close at her face when she gives you the side view she's also got some bulldog somewhere in her lineage. Lavender is a lover. She couldn't get close enough to the volunteer I had helping me with pictures. When she wasn't doing zoomies she was sitting as close to him as she could possibly get. She melted every time he rubbed her head. She could be a lap dog easily. Well, except that she is 65 pounds, but hey, she could still lay on the couch and spoon! She isn't a fan of other dogs so will need to be the only dog in your family, but she's worth it. Bottom line, Lavender is so very easy to love, so come with an open heart and a leash and let her win you over. I promise she is going to do it if you give her just a few mintues! You can come in and meet Lavender now at Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center, 341 S Birdneck Road. Just ask for her (ID# 1702-1635) in the front lobby if you don't see her on the adoption floor and we will gladly bring her out to let you hang out with her and see if she steals your heart like she has mine! Thank you for thinking about adopting a shelter pup! Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center has wonderful pets available for adoption. As of December 6, all animals are now at the new shelter at 341 Birdneck Road. The former shelter on Leroy Drive is now closed. If you have lost a pet, please visit the shelter in person and often as lost animals arrive everyday. Contact Information: Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center, 341 Birdneck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23451 Phone 757-385-4444 (x 2) NOTE: In order to help process your request for information faster, please refer to the animal's intake number, shown next to the photo, rather than the name. This will assist us in locating the information about the animal you are referring to. All our animals are up-to-date on vaccinations and if unaltered, the animal will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. You do not have to be a resident of Va. Beach to adopt a pet. Please visit these wonderful animals today!

    Breed: Bullypit
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Irving, TX
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat). Meet Samuel! Samuel is an 8mo old pittie-american bulldog boy weighing in at about 40lbs of playful love! Samuel is an easy-going guy who makes friends easily with humans of all sizes, dogs of all sizes and, yes, even CATS! You'll notice that Samuel has a slight deformity on his front leg. Believe us when we say it doesn't slow him down a bit! Samuel loves to run, chase and wrestle with the other dogs in his foster home, and he shares his toys easily. What a great guy! IMPORTANT: This animal is NOT at Irving Animal Shelter. This dog has been rescued by PAWS for Irving Animals and is currently in foster care. To set up an appointment for us to bring the dog to meet you, please follow the instructions below. Dogs in our foster care program are: spayed/neutered microchipped up to date on all vaccinations negative for heartworms and on regular heartworm preventative OR recently treated for heartworms and on regular heartworm preventative (It can take up to 6 months for a dog to test negative for heartworm after treatments. We will provide you all the medical documentation regarding the pet's treatment.) in loving foster care homes where they have received training and socialization to help them fit into your home more quickly. There are a few steps to set up the adoption. Complete the Adoption Application online. The online application is a web-based form that should be accessible on Mac, PC, tablet or other mobile device. If you'd like us to send you a PDF via email, we can do that too! If you are meeting us at an event, you can complete the application at the event itself. We require the application in advance so we can get to know a little more about you, and for better safety of our fosters and the dogs. Schedule a home visit. After the adoption application is received, a volunteer from PAWS for Irving Animals work with you to find the best time to meet the pet. Depending on your schedule and the schedule of the pet's foster parents, this might be at a scheduled adoption event (Adoption Events), an area park, or your home. If that initial visit goes well, a volunteer will visit your home with the pet you are interested in adopting. We will ensure that the pet you are interested in has the opportunity to meet all the members of your immediate family, including other pets, to ensure that this adoption is a good fit. We can even do a trial adoption for a period of up to 3 days if you would like. (Note: If you choose to do a trial adoption, we will hold a check for the full price of the adoption fee until you make your final decision. If you choose not to adopt, we will return the check to you when we pick up the dog.) Pay the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs under 12 months and $150 for dogs over 12 months of age. The adoption fee covers many elements: full vetting (spay, vaccinations, etc), registration of microchip to you, etc. You have 3 options for payment: Via check. This can be either given to foster/volunteer at adoption hand-off or mailed as a check made out to "PAWS for Irving Animals" with "Adoption - DOG NAME" in the memo line. The check can be given to PAWS representative at time of adoption. Online at https://pawsforirvinganimalsllc.cloverdonations.com/adoption/ . Be sure to select the correct amount - $200 for dogs under 12 months and $150 for dogs over 12 months. You can pay via PayPal as a "Friends & Family" transfer to PAWSforIrvingAnimalsLLC@Gmail.com
