verifiedPosted Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Looking for a little bundle of love in a tiny tail wagging package? Then stop your search because we have the perfect pup for you. Say hello to Pinwheel! Pinwheel arrived at The Barking Lot in March, 2016 with a small group of pups from Moreno Valley. Pinwheel immediately showered our volunteers with love upon his arrival at TBL and showed us right away what a loving, happy-go-lucky pup he is! At just over one-and-a-half-years-old, Pinwheel isn’t a puppy but he definitely still has that puppy-like zest for life. Seeing a familiar or friendly face is pretty much all it takes to get this little lover’s tail wagging. Given his stubby little legs, big ol’ ears, and handsome mug, we think Pinwheel is a blend between a Chihuahua and a Cavalier King Charles. He has a short chestnut and white coat, and coat is low maintenance and easy to care for. Pinwheel gets along great with other dogs, and loves to play in the yard with his buddies. He currently shares a kennel with three similarly-sized friends, and the four can often be seen engaging in a game of chase in our play yard or snuggling together at night on their fancy Kuranda bed. Pinwheel walks well on a leash, enjoys a good car ride, and loves to play. Fully-grown at around 10 pounds, he would make the perfect addition to any size home. Pinwheel would be a fabulous companion for walks around the neighborhood or trips to a local brewery, and we know he would also love visiting local dog parks for a romp with new friends. If you want a big personality in a little, loving dog, then submit an app and come meet Pinwheel today! If you'd like to meet Pinwheel, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoption-application. verifiedPosted Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Chihuahua / Mixed (long coat). If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi! My name is Libby Lu. I am a foster dog and I am looking for a great home to call my own. Once I lived in a house with 65 other dogs which has made me very shy and nervous around people. I don't like to be petted or touched and I stiffen up when that happens because I am ever so nervous, but with the right patience and training I am hoping you can coax me out of my shell. I like to have doggy friends who I can play with and I like to play on my own. Sometimes I collect all the toys to hide in my crate. I even have a special toy fish named Fred. I really love a quiet house but my favorite thing is to walk!! My foster mom says that I smile a "real" smile when I am walking because I am so joyful to be outside seeing the world. I ignore the cats here in my foster home and sometimes I bark at the neighbor dogs, but I can get along with most dogs and cats. My foster mom loves that I come to greet her at the door and that I bark if the doorbell rings, but I don't bark excessively. My foster mom thinks I am a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixed with something else, like a Chihuahua perhaps. I am solid and heavier than I look, about 19 lbs. My foster mom says that I may be hard to pick up for some people, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a small dog. I like to be in the room nearby you, but not right on top of you, so I am not much of a lap dog either. Mostly I like to take walks and to nap the day away. If you are interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.lastdaydogrescue.org. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
