verifiedPosted Breed: Basset Hound / Corgi / Mixed (short coat). Barnaby is a sweet Basset/Corgi mix (best guess), and is 26# of pure love and calm affection. Barnaby's "happy place" would be in an adult home (little kids make him nervous) with no cats, and maybe one same-size dog buddy... or he'd love being the only dog and having the humans all to himself! He also needs a fenced yard to run/play in, he is super fast and loves to zoom around! He is a bit toy-protective, so a toy-free home is best (he's a "cheap date" that way). Barnaby is housebroken, crate-trained, and loves to sleep on the humans' bed (or on a dog bed if he has to). He loves long walks/exploring, running around in the fenced yard with his foster siblings, learning new things, and cuddling up with his people-- he is a champion snuggler! His ideal family would be willing to love and help him shine by continuing his training. Barnaby will return that love and loyalty a thousand-fold! All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. Please fill out an adoption application and start the process for your new family member! AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!

verifiedPosted Breed: Basset Hound / Corgi / Mixed (short coat). Thank You Bene-Care! Bene-Care wants to say thank you to Joyful Rescues and each and every person that volunteers their time to this amazing cause! The time and energy that Joyful Rescues commits to helping rescue animals and put them into good homes is something that Bene-Care firmly believes in! When deciding which organizations to support, Joyful Rescues rose to the top of list not only because of the cause, but we have staff that has ties either through adopting a Joyful Rescue animal or through volunteering. Each and every one of these animals deserves a loving home, and we are happy to be able to contribute to that. Bene-Care supports you! Brynn was born about March 2, 2016 and weighs about 33 lbs. She was fostered by a southern volunteer and so we know that she is good with cats. She is very good with all the other dogs an she adores her humans and very much appreciates a little snuggle time. This is all we know so far and we'll be learning as we go an so will you. The staff at the southern kill shelter doesn't ask any questions when a pet is being surrendered because it is most often financial and an embarrassment to the humans. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $325.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption. Can't Adopt Me? verifiedPosted Breed: Basset Hound / Corgi / Mixed (medium coat). This is Edith, a 3 to 4 year old mix of Basset and Corgi. She weighs 35 lbs. and is a beautiful red/cream in color. Her foster says that the gray on her face is called early graying and that it isn't reflective of her age. We think it might be indicative of what she's gone through in her past, though. This gentle girl was dropped at a bridge along with another dog named Edgar as well as two puppies. Who knows how far back such neglect occurred. But here she is in rescue, ready to be adopted. Edgar is not yet up for adoption because he came to us with an eye injury which we are fixing. The puppies are not ready for adoption because they haven't had all of their shots yet. But Edith??? She's more than ready for you to take her home. She does ask that, if you cross any bridges on the way there, you hold her extra tight and tell her how much you love her already! (posted 4/16/17, ME, N/A) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our wonderful dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our many years in rescue.** Adoption: $285 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, food, medical records, spaying/neutering, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed : $120.00 We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip from Alabama. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.Tags:
