||They are active dogs that can be good with children, if they are well socialized. Some individuals, however, may snap at children, so caution is advised. The Briquet Griffon Vendeen is always alert and is decisive, making them efficient watch dogs. They seem to do well in both country and city environments.
||It takes a lot of initiative, has stamina and is robust. It must be equally good at working a cold track, at starting game and at driving it. The Briquet is a passionate hunter; it is up to his master to make him obey.
