About Kane’s rescue: Three puppies, 2 months old, were found abandoned in a carton by the side walk. A volunteer rescued them before the arrival of the animal catcher. Due to limited foster care available, these puppies had to settle in a vet hospital, waiting for the next vacancy. The three puppies were named Karol, Keanu and Kane, respectively. Thankfully, they got foster homes and both Karol and Keanu were adopted to San Francisco soon afterwards. Kane is still patiently waiting for his turn to join his forever homes. If you would like to give Sally a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Sally: Sally is a super sweet, mellow, gentle and loyal Formosan Mountain mix dog. Despite all of mishaps she went through, she remains extremely friendly to people and dogs. During her three months in the foster home, she transformed from shy and a bit reserved back into a dog full of fun, joy and affection. For sure she will bring lots of love and happiness to any family. Rescued story: Sally is very loyal as many of the Formosan Mountain Dogs are. She was found eating trash on the roadside by an old lady. The old lady was too old to take care of her and ask a young couple to take care of Sally. The young couple does not like dog and does not have the patient to take care of Sally. The husband often physically abused her and sometimes even deprived her of food. Despite all these, Sally remained very loyal and faithful to the couple until the couple decided to surrender her to the pound. Sally is a trooper and very resilient. Few months in foster home, she bounced back stronger than ever with lots of love and passion that can fill everyone heart. Give Sally a permanent home now and she will be the best furry member that you can find. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Dalmatian / Mixed (short coat). Barry, Neutered male, 9-m-o, 38-lbs If you would like to give Barry a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina Barry is super friendly and playful; he is calm and mellow for a young pup his age. We’re not sure of his mixed breeds, but he has the friendly traits of a Lab. and the exotic white-dotted pattern on his feet like a Dalmatian. He is smart, with a loving nature; always stays calm and stable. He is a little shy when introduced to strangers but loves to be around people. At foster home, he won praises from everyone who ever met him. Meet Barry! One day when the rescuer rode bike passing by a gravesite on the country road, she sighted two young puppies. Followed them into the deep grass, there were five more puppies hiding. She started to bring them food from time to time. When the time comes to neuter them, she found one puppy had been tragically poisoned to death, and another one had deep cuts on the belly. The rescuer had the whole litter fixed; their ears were cut with a TNR (trap/neuter/release) mark before returning them to the field. However, considering the place was no longer safe for these young puppies to grow up, the rescuer decided to take them off the wilderness and placed them with foster families. Barry is doing very well in his foster home. He has passed all the physical checkups, he is ready for adoption. Will you open your heart and welcome Barry to join you family where he can have a safe and happy life with you? If you would like to give Luke a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Luke: Luke had a tough start in life. He was very skittish and reserved when we first met him. It took us a while to gradually bond with him, and then guided him to interact with humans, other dogs and even cats. Finally, he came out of his shell thru the lead of leash and a sweet and outgoing puppy that befriended him; Luke quickly learned to appreciate the good feelings of cuddling and showing affection with humans. Now sweet and loving, Luke adores being petted. He becomes very sociable; he’s comfortable around strangers and new environments. He walks in busy streets with confidence; he no longer has problem interacting with strangers. He is watchful though, will give short barks when strangers visiting our house, but will calm down and greet when he does not feel intimidated. He enjoys the companion of dogs in his foster home a lot. His favorite pastime is hanging out with dogs in backyard and his daily walks. He’s good with his foster family’s cats too. He is friendly with children, but will shy away from young children under 7-y-o. About Luke’s rescue: Luke was born to a stray mother dog; they lived by the riverside. A volunteer was regularly feeding the strays in the area; she also did TNR (trap/neuter/release) for the dogs hoping to cut down the stray population as best as she could. Thankfully, Luke’s mom was caught and spayed by the volunteer after two years of relentless efforts. Meanwhile, the 3-m-o Luke was taken in by the volunteer and placed with a loving foster home. If you would like to give Sienna a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina General information Sienna is gentle and a bit shy. She would get startled by big sudden movements, but would never attack people. She is highly obedient, and can follow commands such as "sit' and "wait." She loves to be clean, and would not go potty inside the house. She is also very stable with the leash or in a car. Sienna loves to eat, so giving her food is a good way to taking a first step to getting close to her. Once she knows you are friendly, she would love to stay close to you. Sienna really is one of those "therapy" dogs. She is sweet, and would keep you company when you feel down and troubled. She also loves people and would accompany you on walks and journeys. With a dog companion like Sienna, your life will be more colorful and filled with joy. Rescue Story When Sienna was a mere pup, she wandered alone on the streets, without a roof on her head, and certainly without loving parents to protect her. When hungry, she had to find food for herself, and at times, she would meet gangs of unfriendly dogs who would attack her while vying for food. Since she did not know how to protect herself, she would frequently go hungry. When the weather was cold and wet, she would seek shelter under eaves on the roadside. Craving for human contact, she would try to get close to people, but frequently would be chased away by those who were not friendly to dogs. Her life had been very rough, without any love and care, but ample bullying by other strays. Then, fate dealt her another blow: she was captured by a dog catcher and was sent to the pound, waiting to be destroyed. Luckily, on the eve of her "date", she was saved from death by some volunteer who renamed her Sienna, hoping that a new name would bring her a new beginning.
