Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Greyhound / Mixed (short coat). If you would like to give Bomie a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina Bomie has a loving nature; she gets along with people, children, dogs and cats. We’re not sure of her mixed breeds, she has the pleasant traits of a Lab. and the slim built of a Greyhound. She is a typical playful young puppy, full of curiosity. She’s not shy or afraid of strangers, she can easily befriend with anyone given some yummy treats. Beside her beautiful upright ears, Bomie has a sleek coat and slim built which makes her stands out among peers. She loves to cuddle and give kisses; she would only go potty when taken outside. She can be a bit shy when introduced to new environment, but can adjust really fast and becomes a most active and lively member of the family. About Bomie’s rescue: Bomie used to wander alone one the streets, scavenging for food in garbage cans near by markets. She was often shooed away and went hungry. Thankfully, a volunteer spotted this friendly young pup and decided to take her out from the streets. Bomie was sent to the vet for a complete check up, and given regular diet. Her skin infection quickly healed and she regained her beautiful shiny black coat! Bomie is doing very well in her foster home. She is spayed, and has up to date vaccinations and microchip. Age: Young
    Location: San Mateo, CA
Posted Breed: Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Yi-Lo, Neutered male, 4.5 years old, 43-Lbs. If you would like to give Yi-Lo a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Yi-Lo: Yi-Lo is a handsome young boy. We’re not sure of his mixed breeds; our best guess is there’s some Lab. and Shepherd’s genes in him, because he is mellow, playful and loyal. Yi-Lo has gentle disposition, he is friendly to adult people, children and dogs, except for cats. He walks well on a leash, understands cues like sit, lie down and wait, he behaves well while being groomed. He is afraid of loud noises such as fireworks or thunder. Yi-Lo’s rescue story: As a stray, he lived on food set out by volunteers for a while, he caught the volunteer’s attention for always waited patiently on the side for his turn to eat, never fight over food with other dogs. However, he would defend the volunteer if other strays tried to attack. One day, he rounded up in the animal shelter unexpectedly. The volunteer worried that Yi-Lo’s days would be limited in the shelter if not being adopted soon. So the volunteer took him in herself as his foster mom in April 2015, even though it causes a great strain on her financial means. Under loving foster care, Yi-Lo was checked up and treated by the vet, whilst received good training and proper socialization. Yi-Lo is a healthy boy; he was neutered, with up to date vaccinations and microchip. He is patiently waiting for his future forever home. Please watch his videos to learn more about this happy and faithful young pup. He would be a great companion for any type of family that will open their hearts to him! Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Shana, Spayed female, 1 year 9 months old, 31-Lbs. If you would like to give Shana a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Shana: Shana is a beautiful young pup with a loving heart; she is friendly to humans, dogs and cats. She is mellow, intelligent, and sweet-tempered; she’s always smiling and loves to cuddle. She is an absolute sweetheart, anyone can pet her, even a stranger. She is very obedient, well behaved, with no chewing or barking issues. Having been through an abusive past, she never lost her trust in human; she still holds a positive attitude toward her future. Shana certainly deserves to have a wonderful home. Shana’s rescue story: Shana is very sweet and close people, so we’d assume that she used to have an owner but got abandoned . It’s hard to imagine what horrible plight this young pup had been through before we found her. When Shana was rescued from the street, she was in despair condition: not only she lost her paw on one of her hind leg, she also had severe burn marks on her back. In the meantime, she’s nursing six puppies. Shana being a loving mom, still tried her best to nurture her puppies. We decided to take Shana and her youngsters out of the hardship and settle them with foster care. We also made Shana a boot for her injured paw, so she can walk and run just like any normal dog. All her puppies were adopted out; now sweet Shana, with a limping leg, is waiting patiently for a forever home of her own. We had made Shana a boot for her injured paw, so she can walk and run just like any normal dog. Please watch her videos for more touching moments of this loving mom and her puppies. Shana is staying in a loving foster home since January 2016 till now. Her journey to happiness was rough and bumpy, but sweet Shana’s trust in humans has never changed. Sharon performs the best among her siblings at foster home. She is under crate training, walking on leash, and socializing with people, children and other dogs. She made great progress in short period of time. Patches of white hair on her chin, chest and toes gave her a cute look like wearing a white tie and a pair of socks. But she was shun away from most superstitious local adopters just because of this cute look. Please watch her videos to learn how much puppy love this little girl can bring to your family if you will give her a chance. Kobe

    rescue
    Breed: Shiba Inu-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: San Mateo, CA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu / Mountain Dog / Mixed (short coat). Kobe, neutered male, 2 Years old, 37 Lbs. General information Kobe is quite innocent and has a very straight forward way of thinking. He usually would not take initiative, but if a dog approaches him to play, he would play with it. Kobe loves food, and at feeding time he would clean the bowls of other dogs and finishes up every last scrape of food left, but he won't aggressively fight for food. He loves to stay clean, and won't relieve himself at home. He knows how to use wee wee pad, as well as doing his business outside the house. Kobe loves to stay close to his owner. When he is at a new environment he would test the owner's limit, but will be very obedient once boundaries are set. Because he was once abandoned by his owner, Kobe really craves for love. He would love for the owner's attention, and would pretend to be mad hoping to chase away other dogs. Yet he really is a sweetie and is not really mad at all, and if other dogs would not budge, he will stay close by and wait for a chance to get close to his owner. Rescue Story When Kobe was barely 2 months old, he was abandoned along with his sister on a cold winter day on the street. They were reported by the local residents and were sent to the dog pound. Because the pound did not have the best environment and had problem with contagious diseases going around, puppies would died one after another. When the volunteers saw Kobe and his sister, they worried that they would succumb to the illness also, so they got the pups out of the pound and put them in foster home, waiting for a happy ending. After some wait, Kobe finally got his own forever home and lived happily with his dad. Unfortunately, dad's company went bankrupt, and he had to leave Taiwan. Before he left, dad sent a message to our volunteer about where he left Kobe. She immediately went to fetch him and brought him home. Having lost his family, Kobe was depressed for a while and frequently hid in a corner not wanting to face anybody. Our volunteer spent some time working on him and managed to open him up again. Now Kobe is back to his playful, fun-loving handsome self. Sallie’s rescue story: “Someone adopted Sallie from the shelter but turned around released her on the street. The very next day, she was rounded up and sent back to the shelter again.” It sounded like a joke but actually it was a halfhearted good deed by some sympathizer, who’s trying to give Sallie another chance rather than letting her waited on the 12-days euthanizing count-down list.
