    Miffy

    Breed: Labrador Retriever-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Miffy (aka: Phoebe), spayed female, 1-year-old, 35-lbs. If you would like to give Miffy a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina General information Miffy is a smart and loving dog, playful and easy going. She loves to play with both dogs and people, and can get along with any age group. She adjusts really well into new environment; she is not nervous but rather fit in quite easily. Phoebe loves being clean and is used to doing her job outdoor. She really loves food so that can be used to help guide her or help her learn. Like any other young pups, she is very energetic, but when she is tired out a bit, she would lay herself down quietly by our side. This is our Miffy, loving, innocent, playful and smart. You would love her too once you get to know her, just as how she loves us. Rescue Story One hot summer day, while taking pictures of a foster dog at dog park, our volunteer spotted 3-month-old Miffy, dog collar on neck, running around in the big dog area. It was getting dark, and most people and dogs had left the park, leaving Miffy there alone. Not knowing whether she was separated from her owner or was deliberately abandoned, our volunteer stayed with her for a long time waiting for the owner to show up. When that did not happen, she took Miffy home for the night and brought her back to the park the next day, hoping that her owner would be searching for her. When that did not happen either, she decided to foster this friendly young pup, and start giving her structured training to prepare Miffy for her future forever home. If you would like to give Oreo a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Oreo: Oreo is sweet and loving; he adores being petted. Oreo has the remarkably charming personality besides his bright appearance; he is sweet, mellow, cuddly, and affectionate. He loves being around people and is aimed to please. He is calm and stable, follows commands very well. He loves to ride in car or on scooters. He is well behaved inside the house, with no chewing or barking issues. He is good with young kids, and gets along with dogs and cats, either in public places or indoors. Oreo will make a great companion pet for any type of family; you will be the lucky one if you have him! About Oreo’s rescue: Oreo had a tough start in life. We don’t know what has happened to him that left a sizable scar on his right hind leg. He was adopted from animal shelter at very young age in 2014, but got returned to shelter after two years. Which turned out he was the sacrifice in an unsuccessful marriage. We were called in to help this beautiful friendly pup find home. We know it’s urgent to respond to the call, or Oreo may be on death row and his days would be counting down. It did not take us long to teach Oreo good manners in the household, apparently he’s been much loved and well taught by his previous owner. Oreo has passed the physical examinations and is ready for his forever home. He’s so easy-going and has adapted to new environment at foster home smoothly. Nira, Spayed female, 5-months-old, 22-lbs If you would like to give Nira a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina Nira is a super sweet and cuddly puppy with shiny black coat. She has a pair of beautiful sparkling eyes and the cutest pointy ears ever. She is an affectionate puppy but very stable and follows directions well; she gets along well with other dogs and cats too. She may be a little withdrawn when meeting strangers, but will warm up quickly! Please watch her videos to learn more about this cute little fur ball! About Nira’s rescue: As puppies, Nira and her siblings went through a great deal of suffering. But thanks to the relentless efforts of the rescuers, they all survived, and two to them already lived with loving families now. It all began during the spring raining season, the rescuer received a message with pictures of four puppies; they fell into a ditch and two had multiple wounds on their bodies. Immediately the rescuers set out to look for them. Due to bad weather and flooding, it took several tries of the rescuers to finally got hold of the puppies. All puppies were treated in the hospital and cared for. In the meantime the weather turned worse, the pouring rain caused severe flooding in many areas. Nira was one of the lucky puppies that were saved just in time! The original plan was to do TNR (trap/neuter/release) on those puppies. Over the period staying in the hospital, they became much attached to people that made it harder to release them to the wild. The rescuer did not have the heart to let them go considering weather still being cold and raining. They were placed with foster homes with good care and training. Now Nira is doing well in her foster homes. Nira will be a great companion for any type of family if she’s given a second chance! Posted Breed: Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Dinah, Spayed female, 7-months-old, 28-lbs If you would like to give Dinah a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina Dinah is a beautiful brindle puppy! She is calm, mellow and friendly. She behaves well around people and mingles with dogs and cats easily. Dinah is a little shy, but not timid, when meeting strangers. She only needs little time to adapt to new environment and then she warms up and becomes affectionate to people. She is close to other dogs and is very friendly with cats too. Dinah has a loving heart, with love and persistent structured training, she will make a great companion for any type of family! Dinah, Delia and Denise are siblings born to a stray mother. Their mother is a good looking long-hair brindle mix, and the three sisters are cute short hair brindle pups. The stray family roaming nearby the farm field was noticed by a rescuer when the puppies were three months old. It was the season of spring planting. Knowing that if the puppies wandered into the field and trod on the young shoots, they have a high risk of being poisoned by the angry farmers, so the rescuer had to move them to a safe place. Having lived in the open farm land, the youngsters were shy and felt uncomfortable to be around people initially. But with patient work of their foster family, now no matter it is taking a walk by leash, or participating in an adoption fair, the three sisters can soon get used to the crowds of people and other dogs. It would only take a little while for them to feel relaxed and respond to people’s petting and attention. Dinah is the chubbiest one among her siblings. She is spayed, vaccinated and chipped and passed negative on her blood tests. Dinah is a great pup and deserves to live a happy healthy life! Mario has gentle disposition, he is friendly to adult people, children, young kid and dogs. He walks well on a leash, understands cues like sit and shakes hand and is potty trained. He behaves well while being groomed. By nature, he is easy-going, well behaved, and is aimed to please. He is very smart, quiet, food motivated and easy to train that can fit into new family easily. He behaves well inside the house, with no chewing or barking issues. His favorite games is playing with his buddies and hanging out with foster family in the park and his daily walks. Mario’s Rescue Story Mario had a very tough start in life. He used to have an owner who chained him outside of a temple since he was only 3-m-o, with no shelter provided. We talked the owner to let go of Mario. At the vet checkup, Mario was found with heartworm. After few months’ treatment, he passed the re-test. The first few days at foster home, he did not show any joy for starting a new life; he stayed alone in corner of the house, being reserved and withdrawn from humans and other fostered dogs. But gradually, he got out of his shell. Under the loving care in foster home, Mario realized his harsh life had been history; he transitioned into a totally different dog. Posted Breed: Collie / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Pony, spayed female, 1.5 years old, 39-Lbs. If you would like to give Pony a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina About Pony: Pony is a beautiful young pup with great temperament. Under loving care in foster home, Pony has transformed from being skittish and reserved into lively and cuddly. Now she is sweet, loving, and adores being petted. She’s also very sociable and comfortable around strangers and new environments. She walks in busy streets with confidence, and no longer has problem interacting with strangers. She is watchful though, will give short barks when strangers visiting our house, but will calm down and greet when she does not feel intimidated. She enjoys the companion of dogs in her foster home a lot. Her favorite pastime is hanging out with play pals in dog park and daily walks. She’s good with the foster family’s cats too, but may chase after them like the way she plays with dogs. Please watch her videos to learn how much love and joy this young pup can bring to your family if she’s given a second chance in life. About Pony’s rescue: Pony and her sister Ruru were spotted as we drove by a hilly area in the suburb; they were about 5-m-old then. The pups were in poor shape, both skin and bones, dehydrated and extremely frail. We decided to come back for them the next day, since we had to rush to the vet for another dog who needed emergency care. Luckily, we found them the next day; they were taken to the vet for intensive care. Both pups suffered different injuries most likely from having being hit by car. Pony’s left forelimb was crooked, it’s caused by a broken joint which was left untreated for too long and therefore can no longer be straightened by operation, according to the vet. She will stay in ballet’s first position for the rest of her life. However, Pony’s mobility is not affected at all. To manage her weight and maintain proper exercise, plus regular intake of Glucosamine is advisable. Pony is currently under loving care in her foster home. A year passed, sweet Pony is still patiently waiting for her turn to join a family who will treasure her regardless of her deformed forelimb. Breed: Shiba Inu-Unknown Mix

Posted Breed: Shiba Inu / Mountain Dog / Mixed (short coat). Kobe, neutered male, 2 Years old, 37 Lbs. If you would like to give Kobe a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR call 650-580-3639 Tina General information Kobe is quite innocent and has a very straight forward way of thinking. He usually would not take initiative, but if a dog approaches him to play, he would play with it. Kobe loves food, and at feeding time he would clean the bowls of other dogs and finishes up every last scrape of food left, but he won't aggressively fight for food. He loves to stay clean, and won't relieve himself at home. He knows how to use wee wee pad, as well as doing his business outside the house. Kobe loves to stay close to his owner. When he is at a new environment he would test the owner's limit, but will be very obedient once boundaries are set. Because he was once abandoned by his owner, Kobe really craves for love. He would love for the owner's attention, and would pretend to be mad hoping to chase away other dogs. Yet he really is a sweetie and is not really mad at all, and if other dogs would not budge, he will stay close by and wait for a chance to get close to his owner. Rescue Story When Kobe was barely 2 months old, he was abandoned along with his sister on a cold winter day on the street. They were reported by the local residents and were sent to the dog pound. Because the pound did not have the best environment and had problem with contagious diseases going around, puppies would died one after another. When the volunteers saw Kobe and his sister, they worried that they would succumb to the illness also, so they got the pups out of the pound and put them in foster home, waiting for a happy ending. After some wait, Kobe finally got his own forever home and lived happily with his dad. Unfortunately, dad's company went bankrupt, and he had to leave Taiwan. Before he left, dad sent a message to our volunteer about where he left Kobe. She immediately went to fetch him and brought him home. Having lost his family, Kobe was depressed for a while and frequently hid in a corner not wanting to face anybody. Our volunteer spent some time working on him and managed to open him up again. We’re not sure of his mixed breeds; our best guess is there’s some Lab. and Shepherd’s genes in him, because he is mellow, playful and loyal. Yi-Lo has gentle disposition, he is friendly to adult people, children and dogs, except for cats. He walks well on a leash, understands cues like sit, lie down and wait, he behaves well while being groomed. He is afraid of loud noises such as fireworks or thunder. Yi-Lo’s rescue story: As a stray, he lived on food set out by volunteers for a while, he caught the volunteer’s attention for always waited patiently on the side for his turn to eat, never fight over food with other dogs. However, he would defend the volunteer if other strays tried to attack. One day, he rounded up in the animal shelter unexpectedly. The volunteer worried that Yi-Lo’s days would be limited in the shelter if not being adopted soon. So the volunteer took him in herself as his foster mom in April 2015, even though it causes a great strain on her financial means. It turned out to be a joyful surprise that they found nine puppies, with their two mothers beside them. The workers at the factory had been feeding them kitchen scraps. According to the workers, the mother dogs had multiple pregnancies before, but their young ones were either taken away by dog pound or didn’t survive. The rescue team felt compelled to take the stray families in and find homes for them. Unfortunately, the puppies were infected with enteritis and had to be hospitalized; but they’ve all regained health after treatments. Donna is one of these lucky babies. Donna is a healthy young puppy ready to join her forever home. Will you open your heart and welcome her to become your family member?
