    Breed: Doberman Pinscher-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher / Mixed. Name: Kobi Breed: Doberman mix Approximate Age: 2 years Approximate Weight: 50lbs Currently living at: Long-term foster. Kobi needs sponsors to support her ongoing training and medical needs. Kobi is a gentle and sweet soul who has faced some challenges in her young life. She came to the DC PAWS family in 2016, and although she had previously been adopted, Kobi was returned to our care with some physical and behavioral health challenges, including significant fear of strangers and gastrointestinal issues. She has made some wonderful progress since coming back to us, and is living with a foster who has been committed to helping her get healthy, and to allowing Kobi opportunities for behavioral modification through counterconditioning, desensitization, medication. Kobi's foster has been giving her a stable and loving foster home, where she is consistently given opportunities for enrichment. Kobi's foster has been working with the support of our resident trainer, as well as a veterinary behaviorist, to support her health needs. Kobi is doing very well in her foster home. However, she is not currently being placed for adoption. If you would like to support Kobi, please consider becoming a sponsor. Your tax-deductible donation will support DC PAWS in covering costs for veterinary and training-related expenses associated with her ongoing care. If you are interested in sponsoring Kobi, please donate online at https://dcpawsrescue.org/donate/.DC PAWS Rescue does our best to provide accurate and complete information about our adoptable animals. Please note that we cannot make any guarantees about age or breed; we rely upon our rescue partners and their veterinarians to make those assessments. We also cannot make any guarantees about housebreaking and animal temperament, as animals can behave differently through transition and in different environments. Our shelter partners provide a basic vet screening for each animal we rescue, which includes necessary vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter (unless the animal is too young or otherwise deemed by the vet to not be a good candidate for surgery). Please note that this is not a comprehensive medical exam and as such, may not identify any and all medical issues, though our goal is to flag any obvious health issues through the basic vet screening. We share all medical records with adopters and flag any known issues prior to adoption finalization. About DC PAWS Rescue Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We rescue from rural areas in the south, as well as local DC area shelters, such as Prince Georges County, MD and Wicomico County, MD. BE A FOSTER: Fosters make it possible for DC PAWS to save and care for homeless, neglected and abandoned animals! To learn about fostering dogs or cats for DC PAWS Rescue, please visit: http://dcpawsrescue.org/volunteer/fostering/foster-application BE A SPONSOR: For any of our animals! Sponsors help us provide critical medical care, food, boarding and other support for animals facing euthanasia. Individuals who sponsor a dog or cat receive special recognition on the animal's profile.  Sponsorships can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and you may designate to whom DC Paws Rescue should provide notice of your gift. Posted Breed: Boxer / Beagle / Mixed. Name: Jessie Breed: Boxer Beagle Approximate Age: 3 years old Approximate Weight: 38 lbs Personality: friendly, energetic Observations with Dogs: good Observations with Cats: would probably chase Observations with Kids: good Currently Living at: Foster in the DC region. Jessie needs an adopter! Jessie is a big dog in a little package. The star of the dog park, she loves to play with other dogs, and especially loves larger dogs. (Her best friends weigh in at 70 and 100 lbs.) She is a rough-and-tumble girl and would love an active household that will give her plenty of exercise. This little firecracker has a softer side and is a big snuggler who would love to keep you warm in the winter. Jessie knows the sit and down commands, waits patiently for her dinner and is super food-motivated which indicates she’d be an obedience class superstar. She can be shy at first when meeting strangers, but give her a chance and she'll show you how great she can be. Jessie is extremely loyal, so once you win her trust, she will be your best friend and constant companion. She has even gotten the thumbs-up from her TV namesake, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) from ‘Breaking Bad.’ He took one look at her and said, “Awww, Batdog!” Jessie has done very well in her foster home and hasn't had an accident in months. Of course, after moving into a new location she may need a little transition time. I don't know how I ended up in a local shelter, but I am grateful that DC PAWS Rescue got me to my foster mom. She says I am "friendly, energetic, and very cuddly." That makes sense because the folks at the shelter also remarked on how affectionate I am! I like dogs and I love kids! I have a human foster brother and my foster mom is so pleased with how sweet I am with him. I have met cats and done well with them, so I think I can share a home with a cat. I could live in an apartment (I am a nice city-sized dog) or house as long as I get plenty of exercise. I would love to join you for a walk, jog, or hike. When we get home, I make a good friend to snuggle with while you binge watch Netflix or the big game (I promise to root for your team). I am also up for adventures around town with you. We can go to an outdoor cafe together and people-watch outside. We'll probably even make some new friends because people can't help but stop and comment on my good looks! Like most shelter dogs, Maco may need a refresher on house training and crate training.
