    NALA

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). THIS DOG WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT OUR ROUTINE MEET 'N GREET THIS SATURDAY, June 3, between 10 am and 12:30 pm at the PETCO in Downers Grove, 1400f 75th Street (60516). Introducing NALA, a beautiful (inside and out) 2 year old, 60 pound Red Nose Pit Bull. She is very social, friendly, sweet, and well behaved. Nala is living in a foster home with two adults and a large dog with whom she easily gets along. Nala follows her foster parents around and always wants to be close to them. Nala’s foster parents work from home so Nala has access to outside time frequently and has proven to be fully housebroken. Nala would like to sleep in bed with her foster parents but will sleep on her dog bed or in her crate with the door open when encouraged to do so. She easily shares toys, food and water with the other dog in the home, and the two dogs enjoy rough housing and wrestling. Nala is very good about her paws getting cleaned too - she just seeks out pets when she’s done. Nala seems to know a few commands and will sit for a treat. In addition, she walks nicely on the leash and doesn't pay attention to other dogs, squirrels etc., nor barks at them. She greets house guests, neighbors, and the neighbors dog at the fence with a wagging tail and ready for affection or play. Nala’s foster parents are crating her when they leave the home since she is newer to foster care. Based on what we have witnessed in foster care, we think Nala might be a great therapy dog. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, spayed, inoculated against diseases, dewormed, tested for heartworm disease (negative) and placed on monthly preventative, plus microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATION are available for online completion and submission through our website’s home page - www.acaringplacehs.org A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. EDEN

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Dogo Argentino Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dogo Argentino / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). This special girl is Eden. She is between 4 and 5 years of age, and currently weighs around 100 pounds. Eden was just diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, requiring an inexpensive daily medication to manage her condition, which caused her to gain a lot of weight. Currently Eden is very inactive but we are hopeful with her condition now managed, she will enjoy more activity. Due to the thyroid condition, her fur coat is thinner than it would normally be and she is more susceptible to skin infections; with the medication, this should improve as well. Eden gets along with dogs of all sizes and has been around cats. Eden would do best in an adult household that is on the more quiet side. She does need an adopter who will be dedicated to walking her every day to help her continue to lose weight and feel better. Miss Eden is housebroken and has good home manners. Eden deserves a dedicated owner who will make her a part of their family and life, something she didn't have prior to rescue. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided inoculations, dewormed, tested for heartworm and other parasitic diseases, plus spayed and microchipped. In addition, complete blood panels have been run. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available for electronic completion and submission through A Caring Place's home page - www.acaringplacehs.org A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. MANCHAS

    Breed: Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Coonhound / Hound (short coat). Hi! My name is Manchas - Manny for short - and I am a 1 year old, 50+ pound Coonhound. I am in a rural foster home that has acres of land for me to run and play on. While in my foster home I have worked with a trainer and learned my manners; my foster parents tell me all the time what a good boy I am when I sit, lay down, come, and stay just like they showed me. In addition to basic obedience I have been learning some cool games on how to search and find things - because I am really smart and need things to do. I think I would be awesome at agility or any activity or job you have for me. As long as you pat me on the head and tell me I’m doing a good job, I will do anything you ask me to do. I live to please my people. I love play outside and I walk nicely on a leash - but I love to run! I won’t go too far because I love my people and don’t want to be too far away from them! I am beeper collar trained to come right to my people, or to the front door to the house. No matter where I am, or what I’m doing, I always come when I hear my beep. My dream home would be somewhere I could run and play in a nice big yard or where my people would take me for a lot of walks. I wouldn’t dream of going potty in the house. I let my foster family know when I need to go outside by sitting quietly by the door wagging my tail. I go in to my crate on command every night without a fuss since I love to snuggle with my blankie and toys. I love other dogs, and I have learned really good dog manners. I have learned that even though I think other dogs are awesome, every dog does not like to play. I give my oldest foster brother a wide berth because he is 12 and he doesn’t like to play with me. I think I would do great in a house with other dogs, but I do also like to be the center of attention, I mean, who doesn’t? I love to curl up in my 8 year old boy’s lap to cuddle. At night, I tuck him in and sneak into his bed with him until it’s time to go into my crate. I’ve never met a stranger I didn’t like and I love... love… love kids. They are the best. If you are looking for a sweet, smart, energetic dog to complete your family- I’m your guy. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, tested for Heartworm Disease, dewormed, inoculated against diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). MILO, our fantastic, goofy, Shepherd/Hound mix boy is a diamond in the ruff. He is 11 months old and 80 lbs of pure fun and love. Milo is currently working with a trainer for basic obedience and to address some typical sassy adolescent behaviors which were left unchecked in his previous home. Milo is doing so well and already knows sit, stay, leave it, come, outside, off and lay down. He is such a smart guy! Milo currently lives with two other dogs and two kids over 9 yrs old. He loves to play ball and would benefit from a active family who will provide Milo daily walks and play time in the fenced yard. Milo is a dog who most likely could go to the dog park too every couple days to run and play. Milo is NOT a fan of cats and has been working with our trainer to co-exist with them but would do best without them in his adoptive home. Milo is housebroken, neutered, microchipped, up to date on his inoculations, and has tested free of heartworm disease. KONA

    Breed: Beagle
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle (short coat). Hi there. My name is Kona and I'm a small, purebred, Beagle who is around 5 years old and weighing only 22 pounds. I was rescued after good samaritans saw me darting in and out of traffic in a busy truck stop; I'm now living in a beautiful foster home with some wonderful people. Here's a little bit about me: I love kids of all kinds and all ages. The more the merrier! I am very smart if I do say so myself. I am very loyal and I stay close to my foster mom until the family comes home. I do not chew on anything other than a chew bone or chew toy. I am almost fully housebroken. I only bark when there is a good reason. I have a big instinct to hunt, so if I am out on a walk and I pick up a scent, I am going to put my nose down to the ground, start wagging my tail and bark my "hunting bark." Please let me do this as it is just part of my genetics. I would be ok to have a doggie friend. I do not like cats. When I lift my leg to pee, I sometimes pee on my front leg.....oops, I don't think I can fix that! And finally, I am just a great dog and will be a great friend and family member to a loving home. With a lot of patience in the beginning and a lot of LOVE, I am sure you will want to keep me forever! Kona has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, been provided inoculations, tested for heartworm and tick related diseases (negative), neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. In addition, we ran blood tests on Kona since he came to A Caring Place in very bad condition; no health issues noted. CHASE

    Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Chase is a 5-6 month old Chihuahua puppy that has lots of energy for play, chase, and fetch. Chase has the typical disposition of a Chihuahua; he loves his foster mom and is very affectionate with her, giving kisses and affection. Chase loves to lay next to his foster mom when she’s watching TV or reading a book. Chase is a good little watch dog too, barking when appropriate - not excessively. He really enjoys running around with a toy, and playing fetch - most of the time returning the toy for another toss. Chase gets along with the cats in his foster home but plays a bit too rough, so he would probably do best with young cats or no cats in his adoptive home. Currently Chase has possession aggression with food and chew bones, so he must be fed separately and can only have bones when he’s in his crate alone. With proper training, this behavior can be corrected, and should be since he is a young puppy. Chase is approved for households with children 10 and older. Chase requires an adopter who has the time, energy, and willingness to continue his housebreaking and obedience training. This little guy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, neutered, inoculated with age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. BUBBA

Breed: American Bulldog-Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Bulldog / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Introducing BUBBA, a snuggly and loving puppy who was born around December 9, 2016. Bubba is likely a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Bulldog mix who currently weighs approximately 28-30 pounds. Bubba has lived in a foster home with dogs of all sizes, as well as cats and seems to enjoy their company but he is more human oriented and prefers people to dogs. Bubba has a more reserved and lazy pup who has a strong personality. Bubba would do best with a fenced yard (privacy fence) and people home during the day who can continue his basic manners and obedience training, as well as housebreaking. Since he's a younger puppy, he can only hold his bodily functions for 4-5 hours - so frequent outside bathroom breaks is a necessity. Bubba requires a knowledgeable and experienced dog owner who can provide Bubba with leadership and guidance. We also recommend, as with any puppy, that the adopter enroll Bubba in obedience training immediately to ensure a successful transition. Bubba has shown some food aggression with the other dogs so we recommend he be an only dog. He was rescued at only two weeks of age, along with his sister Camille, from a young man selling the puppies to make money. Despite our effort to rescue the puppies' mom so they could nurse and socialize until they were at least 8 weeks old, we were unable to convince the owner to comply. Bubba's mom was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix; we did not meet the father. Bubba has received a series of age appropriate inoculations and dewormings, and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
