Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Feist / Mixed (short coat). Meet Bobby. This sweet boy finds himself homeless and searching for a forever home of his own. He recently arrived a high kill rural shelter in SC where his chances of local adoption is quite low. Sadly, he had a home and owner but his owner went to jail and now Bobby no longer has anyone to care for him. He is scheduled to travel to the DC area on April 22 and is ready to move into your home. Bobby was described by shelter staff as happy and loving. He enjoys the company of other dogs, has a great temperament for kids, and does well with cats too. He's been in his foster home a few day, and his foster mom reports: Bobby LOVES to play. He's fast, too. He would do great with someone who has a fenced yard and another young dogs or kids to play with. He has a lot of energy, but when we come in the house, he settles in his spot on the couch. I haven't heard him bark yet. No potty accidents, when I set up the crate he walked right in. He's very friendly and loves everybody. No food agression, rides great in car. He doesn't know his name yet or basic commands, but is very smart and would do well with training. If you are looking for playful and active companion pup, please apply today. You can't go wrong with this great guy. Estimated Breed: JRT/Feist mix APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 12.5 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: 3 to 4 years COAT TYPE: short length ADOPTION FEE: $350 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/hw negative LOCATION: Gainesville, VA FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to http://adopt.ddbnova.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Posted Breed: Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Ripley. This little guy was recently seized by animal control in a rural part of SC because of the conditions in which Ripley and 8 other dogs were living in were horrid. Poor surroundings didn't affect his personality though as he's a sweet guy who gets along with other dogs. He is described by his foster mom as an affectionate guy. Ripley just arrived in town and is timid when first meeting people. He's cautious about new surroundings and people and prefers to approach new things slowly. He likes to give kisses and sit in his foster mom's lap. He is currently pee-pad trained and will start working on housetraining. Ripley would probably prefer a quiet home without young children. This is because he's cautious about trying new things and we think that young kids might scare him a little. He will make a good companion for some lucky person though. Ripley is going to start going to work with his foster mom to help him get used to different experiences and people. Please apply today. BREED ESTIMATE: Dachshund mix GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~10 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: ~1-2 years COAT TYPE: medium length ADOPTION FEE: $350 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/hw negative LOCATION: foster home in NoVA FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to http://adopt.ddbnova.org and complete the application. Posted Breed: German Pinscher (short coat). Meet Julio. This sweet little guy is loving his new life in his foster home, and finally knows what it’s like to be loved and part of a family. Julio was a penned dog who lived outside in isolation, was rarely given social interaction or toys, and when his owner decided he no longer had need for a dog, he threatened to take Julio up to the mountain and just let him go. Thankfully, a local animal advocate heard this and stepped in to save him. Julio came to N. Va in late March, and while he was fearful the first day, but he only needed a little time to adjust to life indoors, as well as all the new people and smells. Things like hardwood floors and doorways were new to him, but now he has turned out to be a great little house guest. His foster mom, Leah, reports that Julio “is very loyal and loving. He’s house-trained, and not at all destructive indoors. He’s still timid around noises, and it takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does he's a total love bug. He really just wants to be loved, and is very loyal to his person. He gets along great with other dogs, and loves to play.” Julio needs a patient, experienced dog owner who will give him some time and space to settle in.He would fit best in a calmer home without young kids, and with an owner who has a flexible schedule. We really feel having another dog in the home will be important for Julio to help build his confidence. This little guy has only been in his foster home a few weeks, and has really blossomed. We can wait to see him take him continue to grow. Apply for this charming little guy today! About Rompin Paws Rescue Rompin Paws Rescue is a licensed, non-profit organization working towards our 501C3, specializing in rescuing moms to be, moms with puppies, puppies without moms and other Death Row dogs. We are located in Western Washington State. Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship. Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California.. Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. RPR was established in April, 2015. we placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington. We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

    Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Arlington, VA
Posted Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Honey was taken in as a young puppy, and his owner had good intentions but did not stay committed to her, even after moving back home with his parents. Honey is now the primary responsibility of the grandma, who is also caring for a husband recovering from a stroke. She doesn't have the time to take on a young, active dog right now, and has 3 older dogs and a cat of her own. Today, Honey spends most of her days alone out in the yard, and that's not a good life for her, so Christy contacted DDB to find her a new home. Honey is a very affectionate and cuddly pup who fancies herself a lap dog. She's very sweet, but also an active young dog who needs daily walks, exercise, and playtime. Don’t let her white face fool you. She's currently being fostered with a cat and 3 other dogs and does well with each of them. She would make a great family dog, and is great with kids. She can be a little excitable and jumpy when she meets you, but we’re working on that. After about 5 minutes with a new visitor to the house, she will settle down and is ready to snuggle. She's house trained, crate trained, and loves her toys and cuddling on a soft comfy bed. Honey is going to make someone an excellent companion, and we can't wait to meet her when she comes to town. Looking for FOSTER or ADOPTER to welcome her to N. VA. BREED ESTIMATE: American Staffordshire mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 63 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: 1 year old COAT TYPE: short ADOPTION FEE: $350 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION: Needs FOSTER - Coming to N. VA 4/22 FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to http://adopt.ddbnova.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to http://foster.ddbnova.org and fill out an application. Posted Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Marla. This sweet girl finds herself homeless and searching for a forever home of her own. If dogs had yearbooks, this lady would have easily won the title Miss Congeniality. Marla is loving and playful. She is good natured and loves to play with other dogs. When introduced to daycare, she walked in and immediately set about to make friends with every dog in the room. If you are looking for a social dog who would be great at a dog park, then this lady is perfect for you. It isn't recommended that she go to a home with cats though as she does enjoy chasing them too much. If you are looking for a good friend, please apply today. You can't go wrong with this great girl.
