Posted Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). MAIZE Maize is a sweet 7lb super friendly and cuddly lap dog chihuahua mix with soft medium length fur and incredible green eyes. rescued from a situation where she was going to be sent to a kill shelter with her six puppies because the owners could not bother to spay her. Hi I am Maize, short for Amazing!. I just love to get close to my people and cuddle. I love to roll on my back for belly rubs while I look into your eyes. I love stuffed toys and if you throw them I will chase and attack them and bring them down. I will entertain you for hours. I get along well with other small dogs that are dog friendly, and I adore puppies. if you have a small breed puppy, adopt me, and i will mentor and mother the puppy and we will grow to be great companions. I will also do well as an only companion, but please do not leave me alone 8 hours a day, I will be bored and lonely. The stitches you see in her head in the first pictures are from having a mole removed when she was spayed

    Breed: Italian Greyhuahua
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Arlington, TX
Posted Breed: Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua / Mixed. Don’t let Marsh’s shyness fool you; he is an active, happy little dog that will thrive once he gets to know you and you get to know him. He is 2 years old, weighing about 10lbs. He adores other dogs and must be placed in a home with an active dog or two. Once he’s finished playing he wants nothing more than to sit close to you so you can give him a scratch or a pat. He needs a home that can provide him with a regular schedule since he is still young; think of him as a 5-year-old boy that might need to be reminded to do his chores on occasion. He is crate trained and goes into his crate at night or when his foster parents need to leave the house. He loves squishy dog beds and lots of doggy blankets to cover up with at night, and he will cover himself up when it’s time to go to sleep. He loves to play with toys and his foster brothers; often crying for his foster brothers if he is separated from them for too long, so please consider him if you have an active dog at home that needs someone to play with. Marsh wants nothing more than to be loved forever by a family he can call his own. He is a bright light that has shined a bit of sunshine in his foster family’s home. His adoption includes age appropriate vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, neuter, and microchip including registration. . Posted Breed: Terrier / German Shepherd Dog (short coat). DIXIE Dixie is a very sweet, cuddly, intelligent 12-15 lb mixed dog of unknown breed. we are guessing as to what she is. she looks like a miniature shepard. What we do know is that she is wonderful! Dixie is shy to start but she warms up nicely with trust and is a snuggle bug. She is still getting used to or cold, wet Northwest so she tends to shiver and requires a sweater inside and a jacket under her harness for walks. Hi My name is Dixie, I love being talked to, going for walks and exploring, hanging out with you on the couch and being your BFF. I am soft and cuddly. I am already house broken, but young enough that i learn things very quickly and am eager to pick up new experiences and skills I am spayed and up to date omn all my vaccines. My foster mom says I would do well in an adult only household with people who have time for me and will not leave her alone 8 hours a day, OR someone who works from home or can take me to work with them would be cool too. I like other small dogs and I get along with everyone. i would also make a great mentor for a puppy Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Breed: Mutt

    Age: Young
    Location: Arlington, WA
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Jessie is a sweet 2.5 yr old Dachshund/Terrier or Dachshund-Minpin mix who was rescued on her last day in a high kill California shelter with her sister Trixie. She was an extremely emaciated and severely underweight. she has gained weight and is a beautiful healthy happy girl now. Jessie is still very shy and will need her new family or person to be patient with her. She really wants to be a lap dog, will excitedly greet you when you come home, but will not quite stand still for petting-yet. In time and in a more quiet, permanent loving home, Jessie will come out of her shell. she will need someone who is good with scared dogs. jesse will need a fenced yard as we have been unable to leash train her for walking Jessie is approximately 15 pounds, shy , sweet, playful, curious and ready for her forever home. she gets along well with other dogs, but especially males and would love a big male to get to know. she currently is close to my 70lb Shepard and is his shadow. (so adopting Jessie as a second, third or fourth dog in the home will make for a fun family) Jessie loves to run in a big yard and since Dachshunds and Minpins tend to hold weight, exercise is as important as diet for keeping either fit and trim. Jessie will make a wonderful addition to a home with all adults, retired couple, or a single person who is looking for a smaller dog and will have the patience to work with Jessie as she continues to blossom.

    Breed: Australian Shepherd

    Age: Young
    Location: Arlington, TX
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Hound (short coat). Please contact Liz (elizabethjeffcoat@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet. Holly is an out going girl. She is eager to join in and play with other dogs, or play with people. She is an Australian Cattledog/Hound mix, and maybe something else too. She is estimated to be 1 1/2 years old. Beautiful stunning girl. Her eyes are an ice blue color, and yes she can see very well. She is sharp as a whip too. Holly is crate trained. She would do well in a home with children (maybe not toddlers because she is active) who would like to play with her. We think she would also be great as a running or just walking buddy too. She would love a home that has a yard she can get to play around in and enjoy times with her family. Holly loves to snuggle up in doors when its time to rest or its night time too. Whether she has her very own dog bed, or she gets to snuggle with you, she won't mind either. The adoption includes age appropriate vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), spay/neuter, and microchip including registration. If you are interested please complete our online application at www.shelter2rescue.org If you have question's you can contact Liz at 214 616 6128

Breed: Labrador Retriever-Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: Arlington, WA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Birdie Birdie is an 10 week old Lab-Staffordshire Terrier-Dachshund and mystery mix puppy. She was dropped off at the shelter as an under aged puppy with her siblings by her owner and left to die. Birdie is a sweet, pretty, tall and lanky darling. she is a little bit shy right now, but with hugs and kisses she warms up and just wants to cuddle and sit in a lap. Birdie gets along with dogs, people and cats. We are guessing she will be in the 30lb range as an adult, but since we don't know exactly what breeds she is, she may be a bit larger. Birdie would make a great walking partner. For a Puppy, she is pretty chill. She will play hard with the other puppies in the rescue, then crashes and sleeps hard, this could partly be due to growth spurts. Birdie has a gorgeous, shiny black coat with red-brown brindling on her legs, face and spots on her body. She is up to date on vaccines, is spayed and microchipped and comes with a certificate for 30 days of free health insurance Please apply to adopt here: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms and Rompin Paws Rescue will be in touch with you ASAP! Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Birdie will be an awesome addition to a family that can give him the attention, exercise, training and affection he deserves. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior large breed knowledge/ experiences. 5) Secure visible fencing required. 6) You must have plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. 7) Please do NOT write us and ask if this puppy is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the puppy may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Health: Birdie has been spayed, she is microchipped, current on DHPP, Bordetella. She has been wormed and flea treated, tested negative for heartworm and Parvo History Birdie was dumped in overcrowded shelter in California. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state Law. Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for -- please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. Adoption Fees Adoption fee is 495.00 this covers transport and adoption and medical such as certain vaccines, worming and parasite, and flea/tick control, health certificate and wellness exam We bring dogs from up from California. so there are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and sometimes boarded if we can't place them in a foster, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington, Also, we don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs. About Rompin Paws Rescue Rompin Paws Rescue is a licensed, non-profit organization working towards our 501C3, specializing in rescuing moms to be, moms with puppies, puppies without moms and other Death Row dogs. We are located in Western Washington State. Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship. Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California.. RPR was established in April, 2015. we placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington. We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

    Breed: Dachshund-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: Arlington, WA
Posted Breed: Dachshund / Mixed. SNOWY Breed: Dachshund mix Age: Approx 12 (could be older) Health: Good, energetic, likes walks and playing, teeth good, eyes developing catacts. will need to remain on healthy diet and suggested supplements for her joints and muscles Hello, my name is Snowy and I am well-deserving of a comfy retirement and some belly rubs. My story isn’t pretty-- my daughter Belle and I were taken by the courts from a hoarding situation in San Bernadino and sent to a crowded shelter where we shared a dark pen for 9 months. Thankfully Rompin Paws Rescue pulled us up to WA just in time and I’m so happy Belle was adopted last summer and is living the Island life on Camano. I have been doing okay, but I’ve been at Rompin Paws now for a year and truly deserve to find my people, free me from the chaos of rescue life and show me the comfort and love of a family companion. I am between 9 and 13 years of age, according to my vet. The young ones at my shelter get all the attention—but for those who check me out, I am eager with a wiggly tail, kisses and will roll for you to rub my belly. I honestly have had enough of close quarters with dogs and would prefer to have you all to myself… but I can live with another mellow dog as long as you feed me separately and give me regular private space and attention. I’ve been spayed, had teeth extractions and clearning, and am up to date on vaccines and microchip. I have sensitive skin that seems to be allergy related, so I’m on a diet of high quality freeze dried foods. And great news! I am part of the Senior for Senior adoption plan for $100.00. Regular suggested adoption fee is $250.00 to offset a portion of my medical costs at Rompin Paws. Thank you for considering me! Snowy is part of our senior to senior adoption Program. if the approved adopter is 60 or older the donation is only $100.00
