Posted Breed: Giant Schnauzer. Next Adoption Event: Tuesday, April 25th from 6pm - 7:30 pm Location: The Hopeful Hound at 16780 E. Iliff Ave, Aurora CO 80013 This is the Southwest corner of Iliff and Buckley - the corner with Burger King and the Money Tree. Look for our signs out on the sidewalk in front of our new place. We are right next to the groomer. Click to visit our website and view our adoption policies, procedures and tips. (Adopt by Owner Dogs will not be at our adoption event.) Sign up online Here. Please contact Jennifer at jeniriye@gmail.com to meet Naismith. This is my Giant Schnauzer, Naismith. He will be 8 years old June 28th. My husband and I have had him since he was a puppy. Naismith has a bobbed tail, and had some tummy problems as a puppy. We did a grain free die for him for many years.. but when my husband bought the wrong bag we found he was fine on regular food too. We don't really give him a lot of different treats because I'm still fearful of getting him sick. He doesn't seem to mind though. He loves his food and is a good eater. We feed him two times a day. He is healthy and up to date on all of his shots. Naismith has anesthesia sensitivity, which is something his vet should know. We discovered that when we had him fixed years back. Naismith has grown up with a pretty bossy mini schnauzer and they get along well. But he seems anxious/ fearful with other dogs/animals getting in his space and this can result in some aggression. For this reason I think he would be better as the only pet in the home. I do have a training collar we have been using this past year that has helped him with this considerably. Naismith is used to being crated when we are not home and is very comfortable there sometimes he will just go there on his own even if we are home. I usually take him for at least one long walk/run a day. He will run around the yard. But, he really enjoys being with people. He is a big guy and needs exercise or he gets bored, which usually results in chewing (note another reason we crate him). Naismith has been crated at night most recently. ( because we are guests at my parents house while my husband is deployed) but before that he usually slept next to or on the foot of the bed. Naismith is most comfortable around his family. He doesn't like being around tons of people. We always crated him if we had company over. Nene is good with my 18 month old nephew and will let him pet him. But, he does get excited and jumps around when his family comes home. He is big so this can be intimidating but if u are firm he listens well! The collar works great as well! Personality wise Nene is a big goof. When he is excited he reminds me of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He kinda hops around. He loves getting his neck/ chest scratched. He is not quite coordinated enough to roll over to get his belly scratched though. He knows sit, lay down, and shake, if you want to crate him I just tell him to "go home". Naismith is very good on the leash he does not pull.. I do use his training collar on walks, as it is sometimes the only way I calm him/ get his mind off another dog ( I do my best to avoid running into other dogs.. cross the street etc). Naismith is house trained. I have been grooming him myself for years. He does not mind being brushed or combed out at all and will stand or lay around while you do it. Giants do shed (FYI) Nene is free to a good home. Including his crate and training collar. Contact jeniriye@gmail.com to meet Naismith. Please contact Vince and Carolyn at ckmill@aol.com to meet Ginger. We need to find a new home for our dog, Ginger. We adopted her from CPR in January 2014. She's 3+ years old. Paperwork we received showed her mother to be a heeler. The litter was quite mixed. She's 67 pounds. Our situation has changed and we need to find her a new home. She's a smart, sweet, energetic dog and has been good with our grandson who's now 22 months. She's good with most dogs she meets off leash. She's not experienced with cats. She sleeps on her dog bed next to ours. She's up to date with all her shots and she has a microchip. Her only issue is she is aggressive with other dogs while on a leash. If there's dogs on the path, she'll bark and want to fence fight. We just don't take her on walks anymore. She has a big back yard to get her exercise. We have a doggie door. She's never messed with anything when left alone. We've posted a video of Ginger. She is free to a good home, with dog food, leashes, beds, etc. ABOUT ADOPTING FROM CPR: Our puppies are only available at our adoption events. Pickles would be best suited for older children as she can be excitable and does jump up and get boisterous in play. When meeting other dogs she is a little awkward, and does not tolerate very rude or invasive dogs. She''d be best as the only dog or with a very calm and easygoing male. Pickles loves people and will quickly charm you with her sweet smile!

    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Denver, CO
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Shepherd / Mixed. Max Labrador/Shepherd mix Male 8 months 44 lbs. (and growing!) Don’t let my looks deceive you. I know I appear to be a very strong and confident guy on the outside, but on the inside, I’m still working on it. I think I could definitely be that guy one day though! I just need a little bit of help getting there because right now, I’m more the shy and quiet type. Some might even say I’m timid, but wouldn’t you be too if you were just a young pup? I mean, who really likes loud noises anyways? I’ve got a lot to learn still, it’s true, like where the best place for a potty break is and how to walk with that silly leash thing that everybody thinks is so great but with your help, I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I mean, I already know how to play nicely with other dogs, and with toys, and I’ve even learned that cats can be pretty cool too. Lately though, I’ve realized that people are probably the coolest ever! I like to be sure though so just give me a minute to feel comfortable and then prepare yourself for sweet, sweet cuddle time! The bottom line is that I have, what they call, “great dog potential”. I just need a kind-hearted person to help me out with a few more things and then, Viola!, Good Dog Max will become Great Dog Max! If you think you are that person (and I think you are!) please reach out to PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org and fill out the dog adoption application here: https://pawsco.org/adoptions/adoption-application/. Let’s get started! Great Dog Max awaits!
