    Ziggy

    Breed: Labrador Retriever-Saluki Mix
    Sex: Male Male

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Saluki / Mixed (short coat). If you are interested in adopting this dog, please download and complete an Adoption Questionnaire: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/s/2016applicationdocx-1.docx and email US at MARIKAC@k-9lifesavers.org You can also find the adoption questionnaire and learn about the adoption process by visiting our website: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/ Dog's Name: Ziggy Estimated Breed : Saluki/lab Approximate Age: 8 MONTHS (June 2017) Approximate Weight: 35 pounds Currently Living at: Loving foster home. Other dogs are not so lucky, please consider fostering. Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION A good Samaritan saved Ziggy's Mom and her 9 newborn puppies (including Ziggy) from the streets of Bahrain. All the pups were so soclialised but kept with their Mum, then weaned and found a new home. Sadly, Ziggy and his brother were severely neglected by their adopters and so the good Samaritan took them back into her care. Ziggy's brother found a new home and Ziggy find his way to our rescue in the hope of finding his forever home. Ziggy has had lots of change in his very short life which makes him a little fearful in new situations so he is looking for a home that will give him time to settle in, and bond. He warms up to people quickly and bonds deeply, but will need a quieter household, who can finally provide him with the stability and predictability he so desperately craves. In return, he will reward you with cuddles, kisses and undying loyalty... Foster update: We have fostered Ziggy for about a week so far. He absolutely loves our Labrador and plays hide and seek with him! Ziggy is a little timid of new things but is opening up to us each day. He truly is an adorable puppy that just wants to be loved. He is learning to sit and lay down and walks very well on a leash. Will you be Ziggy's furever family? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter.
