    Breed: Jack Chi
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Rathdrum, ID
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Hi, my name is Cricket. I may only be one but I have lived through some bad stuff in that short year. I've lived in many homes and I’m really ready to just settle down and find a family that will love me forever. Are you the one that can make that happen? I am a really good girl but because I’m only a year old I still have a lot of energy. One of my favorite things to do is play, I could play all day long, non-stop. Because I just go, go, go, my foster mom said that I need to be forced to stop and take a break. When she says it’s time to take a break I willing go into my kennel, I don’t cry or whine when I’m in there but I can get a bit territorial. If the door is closed I snarl and bark at other dogs that go near my kennel. If the door is open to my kennel I don’t mind if other dogs come and go as they please but if I’m in a time out I prefer to be left alone. It looks and sounds scary but I really just talk a big talk. In reality I’m a pretty submissive girl, I have been put in my place by a Chihuahua and I accepted that correction. When I was at the vet clinic I was able to visit some cats, they were in a cage but I was way too interested and intense for the humans to feel comfortable with me being around them. If I was given the opportunity I would probably chase them so it would be safer for all involved for me not to live with cats. The only time I ever went potty in the house is when I didn’t have access to the outside, I tried to hold it but just couldn’t anymore. I love having a doggie door and that way I can come and go as I please. I love being able to play outside, rain or shine I don’t mind. Kids are amazing, especially the ones that love to go outside and play with me, or stay inside and play with me… as long as they are willing to play with me. I would love to join a family that either has kids that are older than 5 or has medium or large dogs that can keep up with me. Since I love the outdoors so much it would be great to join an active family, camping, hikes and daily walks would all be amazing in my book!! If you think that you can give me the forever home that I have been dreaming of for the last year I would love for you to visit www.powerofthepaw.org and complete an application. Don’t forget that I will come fully vetted. Thank you so much for reading my story and making adopted your favorite breed. ADOPTION FEE: $200. Includes spay, DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Microchip, Deworm, and vet check!

    Buddy

    rescue
    Breed: Cocker Spaniel
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Boise, ID
Posted Breed: Cocker Spaniel (long coat). FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa ID Will you be my cuddle buddy? Buddy is a 10 year old loving cocker spaniel. He is an easy going, gentle and loving companion. Everyone who meets this boy just loves how sweet, mellow and friendly he is. Buddy came to Fuzzy Pawz a hot mess. He had a very severe case of Pancreatitis which took a while to clear up. He also had glaucoma in his left eye; it was very painful for him so Fuzzy Pawz had it removed. He is now healthy, happy and oh so ready to find his forever home! Buddy is house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a dream rider in the car; just curls up and goes to sleep. Buddy does not seem interested in toys. Buddy is great with cats and other dogs; although he prefers easy going dogs. He lives with three senior dogs in his foster home and just enjoys hanging out. Buddy is completely deaf, but does well in a fenced yard or on a leash. Due to Buddy being deaf, he is not safe off leash unless in a fenced area. He has learned a few hand signals in his foster home: come, no and sit. Buddy loves to follow his foster Mom around the house and then take a nap on the dog bed near her. He is an easy going and loving companion. Buddy currently lives with a person in a wheelchair in his foster home and it does not bother him at all; in fact he loves to sleep next to the wheelchair. Being deaf, he does not always know when his foster Dad is moving around; but a gentle touch will get Buddy to look around and move out of the way if needed. Due to only having one eye and being deaf, Buddy can sometimes be startled easily. We recommend kids over 12 for this reason. If you are looking for a calm, quiet companion Buddy just may be your guy! If you would like to meet this wonderful boy please fill out an adoption application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Buddy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $50 adoption fee for him. **Note photos were taken before Buddy had his eye removed.

  • Basenji-German Shepherd Dog Mix Dog For Adoption in Rathdrum, ID

    Ringo

    Breed: Basenji-German Shepherd Dog Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: Rathdrum, ID
Posted Breed: Basenji / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat). Ringo 4 months old Basenji Mix Good with dogs Good with cats Good with kids Fostered in Post Falls, ID Nice to meet you friends! My name is Ringo. Some people call me Ringo Starr because I really can carry a tune. I’m still just a baby at only four months old, but I’m a very active and spirited boy. Some of my favorite hobbies include running across the lawn, barking at squirrels and ignoring people when they ask me to do the same thing over and over. All I’m saying is that there better be some kind of reward involved, or I ain’t doing it. I also love to be petted and play mentally stimulating games where I have to use my nose and my brain to seek out treats. I’m what they call a basenji, and anyone that knows what that word means will know that I’m going to grow up to be an independent and strong willed guy that might never be too keen on taking orders. That being said, I am only a puppy and with proper training and guidance, I will grow up to be just how you taught me to. I am currently a very well balanced kid and I love other dogs. I’d probably do quite nice with another well trained dog to teach me the ropes and play with me all the time. At the end of the day, another dog can speak my language better than any person could. I also love cats and should continue to do great sharing my home with them. I also love kids and adults of all ages, and if the little ones will play fair and can be trained not to pull my tail and pester me, I promise that I will also play fair. As a puppy, whoever applies for me should do their research and have a training plan in place before bringing me home so that I can really flourish and receive all the guidance and socialization that I can in this critical time in my life. I would likely be a great candidate for a balanced training program because of my personality and breed. If you’d like to apply to adopt me, please go to www.powerofthepaw.org and submit an application. I will come neutered, vaccinated and microchipped as well as vet checked. I’d really feel thankful to find a family that would invest as much love in me as I would in them. Thank you so much for reading my story. I can’t wait to meet you! ADOPTION FEE: $250

    Breed: German Shorthaired Lab
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Rathdrum, ID
Posted Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Jaeger 6 years old Pointer mix Good with dogs No cats Good with kids Fostered in Coeur d’Alene, ID Yo! My name is Jaeger. I first came to Power of the Paw 3 years ago. I had a severely injured leg. My front leg had to be amputated. Now, you may have noticed the huge indent in my head. The damage to my front leg was so severe that it caused nerve damage which cause severe muscle loss in my head. I will never come back. I originally didn't have sight in that eye either but that has returned and I don't seem to have any issues with my sight. I get along well with other dogs and I lived with a cat but I don't like cats outside the home. Because of this, Power of the Paw is suggesting I don't go to a home with cats. I also cannot have chickens or other birds in my home. They are too fun to chase and sadly, they are fragile and the humans say I can't play with them. I did have small children in my home previously and I loved them. I was returned because my owners no longer had time for me. I'm now looking for a home with room for me to run! I may only have 3 legs but boy, I'm so fast! You won't even notice that I'm down a leg. I have never lived in the city, so property or a large yard would make me happiest. I know my basic commands and LOVE affection and attention. The first 3 years of my life wasn't very nice to me, so I need a home where I can continue to be spoiled and doted on. Please, change my life so I can change yours. Go to www.powerofthepaw.org/dog-adoption-application and apply to add me to your family! ADOPTION FEE: $200 includes neuter, DAPP, Bordetella, Microchip, Rabies, Flea Treatment, deworm and vet check!

  • Mutt Dog For Adoption in Boise, ID

    Miles

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Boise, ID
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Squeeeeeee!!! What a schmoopsie Miles is a sweet and lovable senior that found his way to a local shelter and he was in bad shape! He was significantly underweight, had major dental issues and sadly was wearing a harness that had been on him so long it made indentations in his bones. We are pretty darn sure that Miles was tied in a backyard his entire life with little contact from anyone. Fuzzy Pawz took him in and got him some much needed medical care, and his foster mom has been helping him pack on the lbs. Now this mellow older guy is ready to settle in with his forever home. Miles is a smaller guy with a thin frame and long skinny legs; best guess is he is about 10 years old. He's about 10 lbs, but he could stand to put on another 5 lbs or so. We think he's some kind of terrier mix, we are pretty sure he is a Yoda offspring – come on check out those ears! Whatever he is we just know he is 100% love and happiness. Despite an obvious neglect he endured before he came to Fuzzy Pawz he is a doll; he loves to curl up in his doughnut bed and loves to be near his foster mom. He's pretty indifferent to the other dogs in his foster home, but would do fine with other dogs or kitties. He doesn’t bark or make any noise, which is good if there are nearby neighbors. Even though Miles is older, he's definitely got some spunk! He likes to go on lots of short walks with his foster mom. Miles has learned to use the doggy door, but will need to be crated if he has to go long periods without potty breaks. He actually really likes the comfort of his crate and goes in at night on his own; we ask that his new family make sure he has a crate to sleep in. The best part about Miles is that he smiles when someone talks to him or gives him attention - That's how he got his name (S)Miles! Miles is in retirement mode, so he'd do best in a laid back and quiet home. Older kiddos would be fine, but small kids would probably make him nervous. We’d really like to see him go to a home where the human is in retirement mode also. If you're looking for a sweet and mellow cuddle bug, and you have lot of love to give, Miles could be a great fit! If you are interested in giving this adorable, quirky little boy a warm lap to cuddle on just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and we’ll get back to you. Miles is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $50 adoption fee for Miles

    Molly

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Australian Shepherd-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: Boise, ID
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID Molly is approximately 12 years old and we think she is a Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd mix. She got the size of a cattle dog, but the shape of an Australian Shepherd. She is very calm and relaxed in the house. As she is older she does enjoy a peaceful and calm environment. She isn’t huge into chasing toys are balls, but she will happily deconstruct a toy if you give her one. She is very treat motivated. She does struggle with begging for food as she’s obviously been rewarded many times over for it in the past, but with a little training and practice she could quickly be trained out of it! Molly is very sweet and has a great personality. When you fill up her food bowl you will be rewarded with the cutest little “happy hops” from her. She does enjoy getting out and walking as well as exploring the backyard. However, she is very much an indoor dog and does not want to spend very much time outside when it is cold. She does well with other dogs, yet she is a food stealer and will happily eat all other dog’s food so free feeding her with other dogs in the house would not be a good idea. She works best with getting a set meal for breakfast and dinner. She will growl at another dog if she feels the dog is getting into her bubble, but is not aggressive with dogs. Molly and chickens are a no go! She will happily eat them given the chance! Molly knows basic obedience commands and does not chew on household items. She is the perfect house dog! This little girl deserves a wonderful forever home! If you are interested in giving this lovely girl a warm lap to cuddle on just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and we’ll get back to you. Molly is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $40 adoption fee for her Breed: Cattle dog/Australian Shepherd/Mix Age: 12 years Sex: Female Size: Medium (approx 50 lbs) Color: Black (with white markings) House trained: Yes No Small kids: Kids over 10 due to her age
