    Breed: Rottweiler
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Rottweiler (short coat). Hi, my name is Koda! I am a very playful girl who LOVES fetch. I am almost 4 years old (November 7). I know how to roll over, sit, stay, and lay down. I would love a home with a fenced yard so I can lay in the sun and chase squirrels. I do best with male dogs, but I am a queen and no man will change that! I would like a home with no kids under the age of 6. I love to chase so I would do best in a home with no cats. I can't wait to meet you! Not an apartment dog. a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranaged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.

    Breed: Shih Tzu
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shih Tzu (medium coat). *********** Bonded pair that are 7 yrs old male shitzu. Never been around other dogs. House trained. FULLY Vetted, neutered. Vet records will be sent with dogs. Great dogs. From the former owner: I have had my boys for over 7 years. Stretch (red collar) was the first to come at 10 weeks old and was nothing but a ball of fur. He stole my heart and nothing has changed that. He knows I love him, but can be a little stand-off-ish. He will love you when he is in the mood. Once you win him over he would be yours. It just would take time. He loves playing with his adopted brother Skittles (blue collar) , who is 6 months younger. Stretch will run like crazy but poor Skittles can't get him because he has shorter legs. Stretch loves to have his ears scratched every morning and give your face a kiss. He loves to chase after a tennis ball and will bring it back to you until he gets tired. Skittles doesn't even try, unless it is right in front of him and then Stretch will bark until he gets it back again. Stretch is a chicken and won't just take it away. Skittles (ble collar) was welcomed into my home also at 10 weeks old and totally different than Stretch. He is a love bug. He loves to have attention and his tummy scratched as often as he can get away with it. He is nothing more than a spoiled lap dog who also loves food. If it is time for breakfast, believe me he whines until he gets it. He gets louder the longer you put off feeding him. I need to be honest, he loves laying around and doing very little – a real couch potatoe, but is such a joy to have. He loves playing with his brother and pretend fight, never hurting each other. Both boys sleep in my bed at night and have since they were housebroken. They have been a treasure to have and it breaks my heart to let them go, but I have to. I will always love them and just want them to find a good home together. They are attached to each other and would be lost apart. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranaged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try email first. Breed: Doberman Pinscher
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). My name is Sadie and I am four years old. UPDATE: I am doing great in my foster home with my foster mom and my canine foster brother. My foster mom provides good leadership skills and I want to please her for that is my nature. I know: “sit”, “come”, “wait” and “stay”. I walk well on lead and try not to pay attention to squirrels and bunnies when foster mom tells me not to. I love to play catch and love my squeaky toys and enjoy playing with my foster canine brother. I am being a very good girl! More will be posted about me later on. Please click HERE to apple for me! All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note: In most cases we require a fenced yard. We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Tinker

    rescue
    Breed: Miniature Pinscher
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Miniature Pinscher (short coat). Tinker is a 7 year old, spayed Miniature Pinscher who needs a home because her owner went into hospice care. She is very overweight and weighs about 20 lbs. She is a friendly, somewhat shy, dog who gets along with adults, other dogs and cats, but may not do well with younger children. Tinker (as in Tinker Bell) is looking for a home where both she and her best friend Mickey (also a Miniature Pinscher) can live together. They currently enjoy sharing a crate together and they’ve been keeping each other company for many years. Tinker is up to date on her vaccinations and will be getting her microchip and heartworm test on May 1st. She is a lower energy dog who enjoys going for walks and snuggling with her human once she is comfortable with them. She is also house-trained and not protective of her food or toys. Tinker would enjoy a fenced yard , but it isn’t a requirement. She would be happy to get her exercise with regular walks. Tinker will be getting groomed and photographed soon, so watch for her photos. If you are willing to open your home and heart to a couple of seniors in need of a good loving home, please consider Tinker and Mickey. If you are interested in meeting these two great dogs, please contact info@nebraskanokill.org. Suggested adoption donation for the pair: $250.00

Mickey is a bonded pair with Tinker….she is somewhat shy. She does not appear to know her name and is lacking in comment command awareness. She can get along with adults, other dogs and cats, but may not do well with younger children. Mickey (as in Mickey Mouse) is looking for a home where both she and her best friend Tinker (also a Miniature Pinscher) can live together. They currently enjoy sharing a crate together and they’ve been keeping each other company for many years. Mickey is up to date on her vaccinations and is microchipped and heartworm negative. She is a lower energy dog. When her new harness arrives, she will be going on regular walks to help with her weight issue. Her current weight is 20 lbs. Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (short coat). This little spit fire is Manny. Manny is a 3.5 year old Jack Russel Terrier. He loves to play with his toys and snuggle with his person. He doesn't always have the best manners and would do best in a home with no kids and experienced dog owners. He's a good boy who needs someone who can clearly communicate with him so he can learn how to clearly communicate back. He is house broken. He does not like being confined to a crate as he has some anxiety issues but does fine as long as he has a dog friend to spend the day with. His foster mom uses a baby-gate to keep him confined to the "dog room" while she is at work. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $150 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranaged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try email first. Posted Breed: Boston Terrier / Chinese Crested-Powder Puff (short coat). Filbert is a sweet sweet dog. He is shy so he needs a quieter home. He came to us with very bad inflamed skin the result of flea dermatitis. He is a lot better and his hair is coming in fine. Loves attention and loves to give kisses. He would not be good in a noisy house with kids as he is a submissive peer. He loves to play with other dogs and cats. He goes in his kennel at night with no problem. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $225 donation is requested at the time of adoption. LOIS

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Redbone Coonhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound (short coat). Miss Lois is also known as the “Duchess of the Couch”. It is hard work monitoring the activities of the household & squirrel patrol in the neighborhood during walks – one must take many rest breaks. We are getting to see the true personality of Miss Lois and what a sweetheart she is. She is house trained with no accidents. She loves to explore in the yard and use her excellent hound nose to search out any new scents which may get the best of her so she will need a 6 ft fence to keep her safe. She has not been kenneled in foster home and has been very respectful of the house. The current foster home has another foster dog (Joey), and two adult cats which Miss Lois pretty much ignores, unless they get too close during feeding times and she warns them with a loud bark to back off. Check out Lois playing with her foster brother, Joey, also looking for a forever home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=3_rUs95Mefc Lois walks well on a leash but you need to hold on tight because if she sees a rabbit her tracking skills/senses take over and she is off to the races. She gives many puppy kisses and when given belly rubs she sighs a deep and contented sigh. The current foster home is close to an elementary school with kids playing there during the day. When Miss Lois sees the kids, her butt starts to wiggle and the tail gets to going. As she has been introduced to kids she gets to wiggling so strong that we are still using the leash to help so that no little ones get knocked over in her excitement to love on them. The only “quirk” of Miss Lois is that she is a counter-surfer. Given the opportunity to snitch a morsel of food (or a chicken breast) off of the kitchen island, she will take it. She will require a home with a 6-ft fenced in yard as she has springs for legs and will otherwise be cruising the neighborhood looking for new friends. Lois will be a lovely addition to any family but hopefully one with older kids who will be able to play and love on her. Lois was rescued from a high intake rural outdoor shelter in Southeastern Missouri where she was an unclaimed stray & found herself on death row due to overcrowding. There is no adoption program there, her only way out was to be rescued. Lois was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. She will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure she is heartworm free. She had a cyst (non-cancerous) removed from her forehead & was also given a dental with tooth polishing for nice pearly whites. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved her life and have promised her a happy home. Lois is a Redbone Coonhound, weighs 45 lbs and is an estimated 3-5 yrs old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative and dewormed. Adoption fee is $250. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard. Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). **MEDICAL HOLD - Not yet available for adoption** Joey is basically an 80 pound love muffin. He will follow you from room to room just be in your presence. He will sleep next to your bed, lay near you while watching tv, and sit behind you while working in your home office. He has never shown any desire to get on the furniture - preferring to lay on the floor or occasionally his dog bed. He just wants to love you and gives rapid tail wags when you give love in return. Joey is 100% house trained. Knows sit, stay, and down (although that command is work in progress). He takes treats from your hand in a very gentle manner. He currently lives with his foster Mom in a quiet home with 2 cats and a second foster dog. Here is a video of Joey playing with his foster sister, Lois, also looking for a forever home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=3_rUs95Mefc He ignores the cats (unless they sneak up on him and then they get a warning bark) he wants to play with the 2nd foster dog but she basically ignores him. He would do well with another calm dog. Joey is about as perfect as they come and he would be an awesome addition to your family. Joey was rescued from a high intake rural outdoor shelter in Southeastern Missouri where he was on death row. There is no adoption program there, his only way out was to be rescued. Joey was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure he is heartworm free. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved his life and have promised him a happy home. Joey is a 3 yr old Chocolate Lab who currently weighs 80 lbs but could easily put on another 25 lbs. He came to us malnourished & thin. We are working on fattening him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Adoption fee is $300. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although not required unless specifically noted in pet description.
