Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. For more information about adopting this animal from us, please click here. Bark! Bark! My name is Casey and I'm a beautiful 3.8 year old brindle pit bull. I would like a home that has no other animals, but lots of loving humans! My favorite thing in the world is to please my human. I know a lot of tricks and I'm always ready to learn new ones! I love being outside and I enjoy rolling around in the grass on a sunny day (or muddy!!). Although I need a home without other animals, the amount of love that I'll give you is that of 5 dogs! I'll always be excited and waiting for you at the door when you come home and I would love to sleep in bed with you at night. Lets make a great team and go home together!Cat adoption fees are generally $109 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted, and dog adoption fees are $169 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted. If you qualify and are interested in participating in this program, please fill out an application online and type "SENIOR" after your name. Rella is a sweet girl and would love to be your companion! Foster Home Feedback 7/11/17: Rella (aka Bella) is SUCH a sweet girl! She loves nothing more than to sit with you on the couch or be held in your lap. She is the ultimate lap dog and a loving little companion. Rella came to 4 Luv of Dog with severe dental disease and needed all of her teeth removed. She has fully recovered from this surgery and feels like a new woman! We mix hard and soft food together and she has been eating great. Rella has a beautiful coat and needs to be brushed regularly and/or taken to the groomer as she tends to get some matting behind her ears and on the back of her legs. She seems to enjoy the glamour sessions until I come to a snarl. Those are no fun! She is accustomed to a few short walks a day opposed to long ones as she is a wee little girl with short legs. Rella enjoys meeting new people and dogs and has always been friendly with everyone she has been introduced to. She has spent weekends at our family lake cabin where there were six dogs and she did fine with all of them. She definitely is more worried about what people are up to and dog friends are a distant second. Rella is going to need a family/owner committed to continuing to work with her on her potty training. If let out on a regular schedule (ie: right when we get home, immediately after waking up from a nap, every 1-2 hrs) she does well with only going outside but if she is out of our sight and hasn't been out in awhile, she will have accidents. We are treating her like a puppy and keeping a very close eye on her and praising her verbally as well as giving treats when she eliminates outside. One other little quirk that Rella has is barking when doors are being opened and closed. If she is in the car and you are leaving her while you run a quick errand...expect to hear about it. She eventually settles down but there will be a few minutes of barking. In the home, she will bark if I open a door and she thinks she isn't going to be able to follow me through it. I lovingly call her "little angry bird" in these moments. She is starting to realize that every time a door opens or closes doesn't mean a person is leaving her (and she occasionally gets tasty treats to help her associate doors with good things) but apartment life might not be great for her unless her person can bring her along on most errands/rarely leave the home. We would hate for Rella to get you in trouble with the neighbors! I think Rella's ideal home would be with a retired person as she absolutely loves being your constant sidekick. She is a very devoted friend and thrives off of being loved up. Please consider Rella if you are willing to work with her on her couple of little quirks (hey...we all have them) to reap the benefits of a new best friend. FOSTER HOME NEEDED Statistics Name: Gideon Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix Age: 1.5 Year Size: Medium 45 lbs. ~Medium range: 26 - 60 lbs. Adoption Donation: $180 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid with cash or check. Other: Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip, No Childen Gideon is super sweet and laid back. Foster Home Feedback * No Children 7/11/17 Volunteer Feedback: Gideon spent most of the day at my home on a break from the shelter...and we had such fun! He was a complete gentleman and enjoyed romping in the backyard with stuffed toys.To say he looked 'joyous' is an understatement!! After playing, I brought him into our small walk in shower and gave him a bath, including his face and head, and he was calm and quiet. Gideon really seemed to actually like being brushed too. Since Gideon is afraid of men, I had him in a kennel when my husband came home and Gideon just quietly observed him without barking. Slow intros to men are necessary for some rescue dogs like Gideon (who probably have good reasons for their fears). I am so hopeful Gideon will soon get a foster or forever person or family, but until he does I hope to take him on more outings and expose him to lots of nice men. Love this guy... 3/1/17: Gideon is such a sweetheart! We love having him as part of our family! He loves to cuddle and relax, but also has a playful side. He enjoys running around with our dog in the backyard. Gideon does well on a leash for walks and sleeps great in his kennel. He also does a great job in the car...doesn't make a peep and usually sleeps! Gideon is fully potty trained and stands by the back door to let us know that he needs to relieve himself. He does well with female dogs but seems to not favor other male dogs. He can be resource aggressive; in a multi-dog home, I recommend feeding them separately. As an only dog, I truly believe he would be the best dog ever! Gideon just wants all of the love. He can also be shy around Human males and tends to gravitate towards females. Total ladies man! However, with time, Gideon warms up. Gideon listens to commands well and would be easily trained. He would be a great addition to a loving and special family. We will be a little sad to see him go, but very happy to find Gideon his forever family! 1/15/17 Volunteer Feedback: Oh what a handsome man! Gideon was a bit shy when I first meet him at my volunteer shift but by the end of my shift, we were best friends. He is a very well-mannered dog when it comes to walking and every once awhile he would turn around and jump on me for some cuddle time. He would benefit from some positive obedience training just to help keep his mind working and most important, work on socialization skills that he will need to become a more confident balanced dog. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. Statistics Name: Damon Breed: Chihuahua Age: 2.5 Years Size: Small 12 lbs. ~Small range: up to 25 lbs. Adoption Donation: $180 - $20 * donation = $160 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid with cash or check. Other: Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip, Older considerate children only * Adoption Donation to help Damon find his forever home! Thank you! Damon wants someone to be his buddy! Foster Home Feedback 7/12/17: Damon is still waiting for his forever home! I've had this little guy for over 7 months now. Damon needs someone who can be patient with him. He's still a little growly and nippy when meeting new people; Damon needs that special person to be his best friend and help keep him out of situations uncomfortable for him. When there are guests over, we recommend putting him in his kennel or in another room..that would be best for him...less stressful and also safer for company. Damon is a little sweetheart, he loves to cuddle give kisses and watch tv with me. He gets attached to his person and won't let anyone else touch him...He is a one-person dog! Damon loves to be outside in the sunshine - resting on the deck watching for squirrels and birds. We now have a rabbit that has dug a hole under our fence and dares to come in our fenced in area with 4 dogs...so far he's still around. He's one lucky rabbit and Damon wants to be one lucky dog. Damon is waiting for that special someone to give him a home. 4/21/17: Hi There, Thanks for stopping by Damon's Profile! Now that Spring is here this little guy is looking for the perfect home to care for him. Damon is still a little growly and may nip at you but he means no harm; he is very scared. When meeting new people he needs time to adjust going into a new home is very stressful for some dogs, and Damon is that dog. (I still recommend No kids) in a home for him. Once Damon feels at home and starts to trust you, he will do fine. When I have company over to my house, I put him in a kennel or in my bedroom so he doesn't bark and be scared of my guests. Damon would really adjust better in a home if there was a little dog buddy for him to play with. He loves his walks; he does pull a little bit on a leash, so you have to hang on tight. I would also keep him on a leash at all times when outside because he likes to chase squirrels and birds. If you have a fenced in yard, that would be great so he can run around. Damon likes to sleep with me at night. He's always the first one to bed. I let Damon and my dogs out at 8:30pm before we go to bed and I get up at 4:30am to get ready for work and dogs go outside to do their duty and into their kennel they go, with a treat of course. He is a sweet little dog who just needs time to feel comfortable in his new home. Give this little guy a try. You will adore him. He's waiting for you! 2/6/17: Damon is a WONDERFUL little dog! He's still waiting for his forever home. I've had him 2 months now. You will have to give Damon time to adjust to his new family and home. He will be scared at first but he will be fine. Give him a chance, I know you will love him as much as I do. (He is scared of new people he meets until he gets to know you.) He's potty trained has had a few accidents in the house but that happens. Damon sometimes stands by the back door telling me he has to go outside. He is fine in his kennel when I leave for work. Damon's always so happy to see me when I get home from work, that he jumps in my arms. The first time he did that, he caught me off guard...but now I'm ready to catch him! He's well behaved; likes napping and cuddling with you, and I better not forget, he likes belly rubs too. Damon loves to go for car rides; he jumps right in! He likes to go to the bank with me to see the bank ladies because they give him treats and tell him how cute he is. And he likes to go to PetSmart shopping as you can see in the picture...( He always picks out a treat). Damon likes to chase squirrels in the back yard when they are out eating corn. He likes to go on walks, so if you need a partner, he's your guy. Damon needs to lose a few pounds that he has put on over the winter months. Damon even likes the carrots I give him as a treat. Check little Damon out and see if he's a good fit for you. He's waiting for you! Damon has LOTS of love to give & he would like to snuggle with you! 12/26/16: Damon's a Sweetheart, but he can be a little growly at times, so little kids would not be a good fit for him...Older considerate kids that would treat him kindly. I've had Damon for over 3 weeks now. He was a little scared and fearful when I got him home; it took a few days and he started to trust me. He did have some potty accidents in the house and but has done really well since he's gotten comfortable here. Damon is kenneled for a few hours during the day. He did bark some when I left for work in the mornings, so hopefully, he quit after I left. I do leave the radio on for the dogs when I leave. Damon had eye surgery for "Cherry Eye" and he's looking really good! I do have small/medium size dogs and he gets along with them, but once in awhile, he growls at them because he wants my full attention meaning my dogs should stay. Damon likes car rides, walks and watching tv with you, and he does give me lots of doggie kisses. He sleeps with me at night and loves to be close to me. Damon doesn't like to be outside by himself; he barks until you let him in. Damon would probably like another little dog to play with and keep him company when you're at work and a fenced yard to play in would be great. Damon is a great little Chihuahua Mix is looking for his forever home; get your application in! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org
