Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. For more information about adopting this animal from us, please click here. It's been 3 months since Casey was returned to our care, for no fault of her own. She gets stressed in the shelter, but luckily, we have a great foster that was willing to take her in. However, we still need to find this sweet girl her forever home! Here's a little more about Casey from her foster. Please like and share to find this wonderful dog a home! ❤️ I have been Casey's foster mom for two months now and I can't believe she doesn't have a forever home! This dog is so insanely sweet and lovable, not to mention smart and kind! She likes: -Long mornings in bed or on the couch snuggling under a blanket -Playing fetch with her tennis ball or bone -Learning new tricks for yummy treats! -Going for walks and sniffing new things Casey does not enjoy other dogs or cats in the home, but she is very wonderful with people! She has been gentle with the couple kids I've had over, though she can get rambunctious when she plays. Seriously, this dog is so willing to learn and wants to please. I know there's someone out there who can love her forever!Cat adoption fees are generally $109 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted, and dog adoption fees are $169 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted. Adoption Fee: 180. {s3829code380/} If you would like to provide this dog a loving home, please fill out a pre-adoption application. Have a question? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. Statistics Name: Walter Breed: Labrador Retriever - Heeler Mix Age: 6 Years Size: Medium lbs. ~Medium range: 26 - 60 lbs Adoption Donation: $180 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid with cash or check. Other: Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip Walter is looking for that nice forever home! Foster Home Feedback 9/13/17: I am Sir Walter McCunningham and I am dictating to you with the assistance of my new secretary because an important issue has come up that I must address post haste: I am in search of a new, permanent assistant. While my current, temporary, assistant is quite knowledgeable and attentive to my needs and comfort, I would like to formally and respectfully request a permanent, loyal, human companion who needs—and needs to be—a devoted friend and confidant of lifelong status. What I lack in pedigree, I account for in rapid flexibility and zest for life. I am content with thoughtful reflection at your feet whilst you indulge in a thought-provoking classic novel, or I will accompany you while you admire your grounds and neighboring estates on a regular basis. I would be delighted to commune with a friendly canine companion, considering they respect boundaries when requested. I also have experience collaborating with youthful individuals, provided they have been properly informed how to treat an individual of my status. Hopefully Yours, Walter Secretary's translation: Walter is awesome. He needs about 12 hours to adjust to a new situation. He is completely potty trained and listens to the word "No". He TRUELY and COMPLETELY wants to please and he needs his person. Walter is very loyal and he wants to devote the rest of his life to someone. He crates well (barks for a few minutes when you leave) and interacts with my crazy Husky well. The main issue I've found that he needs to work on completing commands (he seems to know them, but tests what YOU know) and taking treats nicely. I'll work on that. You work on your application, please. 8/10/17: Meet Walter! He is very loyal and loving, does great with kids and with other dogs. Walter needs slow introductions to people he does not know. He will growl but with slow introductions, he is able to calm down. Walter loves to cuddle with his people of all sizes. Walter loves playing outside with other dogs and he does not need to be kenneled while you are gone. Walter would do best in a quieter home without a ton of traffic coming and going. He might also like another dog he can hang out with. He loves walks and car rides, any adventure is good with him!! Posted Breed: Maltese / Shih Tzu / Mixed (medium coat). Casey is a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix who was born in 2011. This means he's small, white, and he has an under bite. Casey is a friendly little guy who does well on a leash. When Casey was first brought to our shelter, he had some accidents in his kennel. As of 8-25-17, we've noticed that he hasn't had as many accidents, but he does like to tip over his water bowl quite a bit. Casey's neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. If you think this little guy might be for you and you have the patience to work on his potential potty problems, please come out to the shelter and check out Casey! Bear

    rescue
    Breed: Husky-Labrador Retriever Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200.00. Foster Feedback: 9/11/2017 Bear is a new foster within Diamond in the Ruff and is doing such an amazing job with learning the ins and outs of having a family. Bear, within two days, learned sit, stay (not too far), and down. We've learned how smart of a dog she is and she has great potential with learning new commands/tasks. She is still a little jumpy, but she's getting better everyday with that. We're not sure of Bear's beginnings, but we do know that she is a little timid at first when being approached or when doing new things. After the initial start of anything, she's perfectly fine and I have yet to meet someone she doesn't want to kiss! Bear is definitely a cuddle-bug, she likes to be in our lap or touching us at all times. She gets along really well with the resident dogs and is always happy to have someone else to play with her! We do not have cats, so we are unsure of how she would do with them. Although, when she was transported with them and around them in their carriers, she did not care or have any interest at all in them! Overall, Bear is excited about her new life. She needs a family that will work her out and play some of her puppy energy off. She does pretty well on a leash and LOVES walks. Right now, we're learning how to play ball. Playing ball for Bear means she catches the ball and drops it in order to come to you to get some love. Bear is a really sweet dog who deserves as much love as possible. If you think you can provide that to her, please apply! Bear will be ready to start trial with her future family once she is altered on 9/26/2017.

Posted Breed: Papillon (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200.00. Foster Feedback: 09/11/2017 Meet Zoey , a 10-year-old papillon. Quiet, yet strong, she’s a lot like her namesake from the television show, West Wing. As a rescued breeding dog, she’s still learning to enjoy the things every pup should experience in life, but she’s very smart and learns quickly, especially by watching her younger foster brother, a spaniel mix. Right now, she’s learning how to walk with a leash, use the bathroom outside, walk up stairs, and enjoy treats! Exploring the sights, sounds, and smells of her fenced-in-backyard is one of her favorite things to do. She loves chasing and playing with her foster brother, but never roughly. For Zoey , the perfect forever family would be caring, kind, and patient as she learns. Apply to adopt this tender-hearted girl today!

FOSTER HOME NEEDED Statistics Name: Virginia Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix Age: 3.5 Years Size: Large 61 Lbs. ~Large range: 61-100 lbs. Adoption Donation: $75 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid with cash or check. Virgina needs a home with no other pets Other: Spayed Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip, No cats or small animals of any kind, slow intros with other dogs. Virginia has skin and environmental allergies and needs to eat prescription food. She also takes a daily medication to manage her allergies. Virginia is looking for a home and person to be all hers! * Virginia needs a home with NO other pets. Foster Home Feedback * NO Cats or small animals (Virginia once fought a porcupine and lost-- she holds a grudge). Virginia has skin and environmental allergies and needs to eat prescription food. She also takes medication to manage her allergies. 9/10/17 Volunteer Feedback: Virginia is a delightfully beautiful girl looking for the perfect home. I have taken this sweetheart on a few adventures and I fall more in love with her each time. First, we went to the vet together to have an allergy shot. Virginia was well behaved while we waited for the technician to ask some questions. And in the few minutes it took for the vet to come in, she laid down and looked bored. Then we had an outing away from the shelter at my house. Virginia just really loves to be with her people. She followed my husband and I around and was always close by. She enjoyed exploring the backyard, found a few toys that were fun to play with, giving sweet kisses, and snoozing on a dog bed. Virginia is so quiet and laid back. She was by far the easiest house guest I've ever had. At the shelter, Virginia always keeps her kennel clean, walks very well on a leash with her harness. She knows a few basic commands. Although Virginia doesn't want the company of other animals as much as she does her humans, she is still a wonderful dog to consider adopting. Virginia just wants to be your one and only love. A lot of people think having a dog who is not dog-friendly is difficult. But I have two dogs of my own that only enjoy each other's company and it isn't difficult at all. Consider adopting Virginia and giving her the loving home she so deserves. 7/31/17: Virginia is a SUCH a sweetheart! She's been in our home for about 3 months and has proved to be an excellent companion. Virginia loves people and wants to be by your side for whatever you're doing... gardening, watching TV, making dinner, she just wants your company! She does very well walking on a leash and loves to get exercise every day. As long as you keep an eye out for approaching animals, she sticks right by your side. We love that Virginia knows so many commands (i.e. sit, stay, come, leave it) and is eager to learn even more. She would do best in a home that gives her free reign of the house, can make frequent check-ins, and has no other animals. We hope you'll consider Virginia as your next pet! 4/8/17 Volunteer Feedback: Meet Virgina! This girl has my heart. I have so enjoyed her sweet and silly personality. Another volunteer and I gave her a medicated bath to help with her skin issues. While some dogs are very difficult to bathe, Virgina was an absolute dream and her skin is on the mend. It was fun to watch her wiggle and run around a bit after her bath because she is generally so quiet. She is so easy to walk, isn't too playful and is quite laid back and happy to hang with you on the couch. Virgina always keeps her kennel clean, rides very nicely in a car and is great with kids and dogs her size. She always greets you with a wagging tail and isn't jumpy like many of the shelter dogs so she is a volunteer favorite to leash up. Please consider giving Virgina the wonderful home she so deserves. 3/27/17 Volunteer Feedback: Sweet Virginia was surrendered to the rescue needing some veterinary care for her skin and for the past few weeks I've been giving her special "spa" treatments with medicated shampoo. She is looking so much better and is now ready to be adopted! I can't say enough about what a very well behaved girl she is. If I already didn't have two fosters, I'd love to add her to my pack! Virginia is very docile and quiet and very stoic. She accepts whatever you ask of her or want to do to her. The last time she was over, I ended up keeping her for a good portion of the day as I just couldn't bear to bring her back to the shelter (where she patiently waits for a foster or forever home). To some, she may not be the prettiest dog, but she is certainly distinctive with one brown and one blue eye and to me, her beautiful nature does indeed make her a beautiful dog. Virginia walks nicely on leash, rides quietly and practically motionless in a vehicle and no reactions or barking while she is with me at home or at the shelter when I am there doing a shift. Please consider adding this wonderful girl to your family! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org
