    Breed: German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. HOOVER HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. This handsome boy is Hoover, a 3-4 year-old Chocolate Lab/Shepherd mix male with soulful eyes, a beautiful coat, and a sweet disposition. Sadly, he tested positive for heartworms at a county dog shelter. Since they don’t have the resources to treat him, they asked us for help with him and he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needs. Hoover started his two-month long heartworm treatment the week of December 5 and did very well so is now ready for adoption. He adjusted well to crate rest and limited activity during his two month recuperation but is now ready to have some fun. Hoover gets along well with female dogs but sometimes has an issue with other male dogs. He would probably be fine as the only dog in his new home as he really likes being around people. His family should be home much of the time though as Hoover isn't fond of being alone. Once he settles into a new routine, Hoover's going to be a devoted companion and walking buddy for one lucky person or family. Hoover weighs about 47 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. Hoover is neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Hoover. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Hoover’s heartworm treatment cost about $650. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care so that we are able to save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Hoover and Canine Lifeline! Please visit our website to see more photos of Hoover and to submit an online application. Posted Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hi! I want to introduce myself. My name is Alan and I used to live in Columbus, OH. Forget Me Not Animal Rescue saved me from something called an euthanasia list. Doesn't sound like a list good boys should be on and I AM a good boy. I had been at Franklin County Dog Shelter since November. I was really scared there and they said I was starting to decline so they put me on "the list". I also developed something called happy tail so they had to cut my tail but that's okay. I am all healed, super cool and feeling great! I was a volunteer favorite in Columbus and my foster family adores me. I love to hang out with my foster fur sibling and my foster parents. I enjoy exploring in the yard and overall I am a pretty easy guy. I do get nervous around small kids but I do well with older ones or adults. Can you take a chance on me? I'm a really well mannered guy about 3 years old. Apply now!

    Chief

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Flat-coated Retriever / Setter / Mixed (long coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. Chief is a very handsome 3 year-old Flat-coated Retriever/Setter mix male who just might be the strongest dog we’ve ever had. He was turned into an overcrowded county dog shelter by his owner who could no longer keep him. The shelter noticed that Chief was very headshy at first and felt that he had been hit before. Given how strong he is on the leash, we suspect that someone did hit Chief to try to keep him under control. Once with Canine Lifeline, his head-shyness disappeared almost immediately in his foster home. Once he trusts someone and realizes that he’s not going to be abused, he relaxes and is a very friendly and outgoing guy. According to his previous owners, Chief lived with kids but had not been around other dogs much or cats at all. Chief has done well with the other dogs in his foster home although he doesn’t really join in games of chase or wrestling with them. Chief does well in his crate and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He knows some commands including sit and shake hands and possibly more that we haven’t discovered yet. Chief will need a home with a secure fixed fenced yard as it will be difficult to walk him on a leash until he has some training in that area. He seems to enjoy riding in the car. Chief weighs about 78 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Chief has had a recent dental cleaning at our vet and now has a very pretty smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Chief. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Posted Breed: English Pointer / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Hi! I'm Carina. My foster mom says that I'm an intelligent and beautiful girl. Forget Me Not Animal Rescue pulled me from Cleveland Animal Care and Control so I could get lifesaving heartworm treatment. I've had all my shots and now I just have to watch how much exercise I am getting as these yucky worms leave my system. When I can, I love to play, run and explore. I would be a great companion for someone who is looking for a snuggle or walking buddy. I love to be with my foster mom and dad and will happily snuggle all day. I'd love a home where I can have all the attention but I can share too with slower introductions. I don't think I'd like to live with little dogs or cats though. Those look too much like toys to chase for me! All I need for follow up treatment is to get retested and stay on monthly heartworm preventative. I will be spayed before I am adopted. I'd love to meet you!

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. Laramie is an exceptionally nice 1.5 year-old Cattledog mix female who had the double misfortune of finding herself homeless at a rural county dog shelter and testing positive for heartworms there. The shelter reached out to us for help with her so Laramie made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would get the lifesaving treatment that she needed. Laramie had her second round of treatment in mid-March and has done very well so is now ready for adoption. She is a lovely girl with a very soft coat and a little bobtail. Laramie is a little shy at first when meeting new people but once she warms up to someone, she’s a very loyal and devoted friend. Laramie gets along beautifully with other dogs so would likely enjoy having a fun canine companion in her new home. She has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Given that she is shy and timid in new situations and from a rural area, urban life would be very scary for her so we are looking for a home for Laramie where things are a little quieter. She weighs about 35 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Laramie.
