Please only apply if you are able to care for a senior pet.** Twister is an independent girl who is ready to settle in and spend the rest of her life in the lap of luxury. She's fairly social and tolerates other dogs. Because she is older, we do not recommend she live with children under the age of 8. She could also live with cats. from Twister's foster parent: "Twister is a little older gal with a bit of southern charm in her. She is just sweet as can be and lovable. She enjoys her baths and loves when you brush her curly locks of hair. She just came from the Doggie Spa for her summer haircut. She just melts your heart. Twister is a quiet gal and just wants to be in a warm loving quiet home. She is not big on toys, she is very good with other small dogs. She really enjoys her daily walks on her leash and her favorite time is lunch and dinner and a rewarding soft chew treat, which would also be her midnight snack. She sleeps straight through the night and is just a love bug. Kisses and belly rubs always makes her day. Twister is our little Southern Belle." Posted Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat). Muppet asks nothing more than the coziness of your lap or the quiet comfort of his little cushion. A very bright little fellow Muppet is house broken and learns whatever you would like him to know with just a few instructions. He doesn’t mind being left at home on his bed for a few hours if you tell him you’ll be back. Muppet does have some anxiety if you leave him in a car. He gets along with other dogs but tends to observe rather than play. Muppet offers perfect companionship and would be ideal for someone who would like a dog but may not have time for the puppy stage. Muppet has Cushing's Disease for which he takes medication twice a day. This means he will require blood tests periodically to be certain he is receiving the proper dosage. Name: Muppet Location: Foster Care Breed: Poodle mix (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label) Age: 6-10 years old Weight: 9 pounds Reason for surrender to shelter: Muppet was found as a stray. If you are interested in meeting Muppet, please email dogs@phillypaws.org for an application. If you have questions, please email the above address or contact our adoption staff member at 215-298-9680, ext. 16.
