We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt // // Meet Hooch, a 5 1/2 year old, 71 lb Korean Jindo- Belgian Tervuren mix (this is our best guess). Hooch is a sweet, VERY active, and intelligent dog that is very good with all people and children (older). He is good with other dogs as long as they are introduced properly and has not been cat tested. Unfortunately, Hooch's family has gone through a divorce and he is in need of a new FURever family that is in a better situation to give him the love and ATTENTION he deserves. He would do great with a family with older children to watch over at night. He would also make someone a great companion dog, as he doesn't mind being the center of attention at ALL times. He would thrive in a home with a yard, he enjoys being outside, but with the right about of exercise and attention he could be fine without a yard. He is house trained, he does not get up on the furniture without being told to do so, and does not bark or chew anything in the house. Hooch will be okay alone while you are at work, he does not have separation anxiety, but he will be super excited to see you when you get home. Are you looking to add a new cuddle bear to your life? Hooch is waiting for you... Hooch is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $250. (NO to Apartment Living) *Hooch will require a home visit prior to adoption. All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog. We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information. All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home. Thank you for visiting our dogs located at www.SecondChanceDogRescue.org

We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt // // Meet Patch, the 2 year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier (JRT)! Patch has the coloring and play style of a JRT but at 11 lbs is petite like a Chihuahua. He's calm and relaxed most of the time but has occasional bursts of JRT energy and when he does, watching him frolic about the house can be quite entertaining! Patch frequently jumps in his foster mom's lap to solicit her love and attention. Patch loves stuffed toys and Kongs, especially Kongs filled with treats since he's very food motivated. Patch is potty trained and also crate trained. He never whines or begs to get out while in his crate during the day where he stays while his foster mom is away at work. Patch has the added bonus of being very quiet. He is leery of strangers and will bark at new people who approach him. He relishes walks in the neighborhood, and he walks very well on an Easy Walk harness. Patch may be better in an adult household since he's not been tested for kids and he's currently fearful of strangers. He also hasn't been tested for cats, but Patch is good with other dogs and adores playing with his foster siblings, who range in size from a 12 lb. Chihuahua to an 80 lb. Doberman. Patch is neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. If you want an affectionate, occasionally playful, quiet, lover boy, then Patch is your little man! Boo - Courte...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: San Diego, CA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Boo, is a courtesy post only, and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog, and SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the poster with respect to this dog. Boo is a 7 year old male dog whose owner just recently died and is looking for a new owner to love him. He is neutered, vaccinated, house trained, friendly, good with other animals and loves to ride in the car. We don't know how he is with children. He is currently experiencing separation anxiety and does a lot of barking when left alone. He lived in an apartment with his previous owner who worked full time, and did not exhibit excessive barking behavior so we feel that he is justifiably confused and anxious about what has happened. He will need a loving owner who is willing to work with him to reduce his anxiety. A canine pal would be helpful, as he does well with other dogs (after a proper introduction) For further information-Please contact Linda Pendleton directly@ email address ljpendleton1@gmail.com and/or (619)341-3034. or Cliff (858)337-2935

    Location: San Diego, CA
Posted Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Bichon Frise / Mixed (long coat). Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application. Meet Pearl! Pearl came to ARWOB along with 8 other poodle mix dogs. The dogs were relinquished in Tijuana and we stepped in to rescue the entire group. Here is what Pearl's foster mom has to say about her: “Pearl is a the sweetest, prettiest fur pal with nothing but love to give! Looking for constant cuddles and kisses? Pearl’s your girl. If dog’s had a theme song hers would be “Me and My Shadow” because she will follow you anywhere. Pearl gets along with other dogs and cats, but she would be just fine alone with you as the center of her world. This adoring, Muppet-faced baby is house trained, and a non-barker. She likes to run and play, but mostly she just wants to be held in your arms and heart.” Pearl has revved up her kisser. All she needs is the perfect human who’s ready for some affection. Won’t you give this petite flower the forever, loving home she deserves? If you are interested in adopting Pearl, please fill out an online adoption application. Don't wait! We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt // // Meet Elmo! Elmo is a handsome 5yo Boxer and is a big boy, weighing in at 75 lbs! Elmo was found severely underweight with a burn scar on his back. He has since gotten some good groceries under his belt, put on lots of weight and has forgotten about whatever trauma caused his scar. He is just the happiest boy and a true boxer, full of energy and fun, who needs an owner that will give him lots of exercise. Elmo would be a great running or hiking companion, and would love a house with a yard to run and play. He gets along great with dogs after a proper introduction and LOVES every person he meets. Elmo chases cats! We are working on his manners, since he jumps to greet and gives very sloppy kisses. He is house trained and will walk well with a harness. He's a big boy, so he needs a strong person to walk him. Elmo does have typical boxer energy and due to his size and breed, he will need to go a family with large breed experience and a yard for him to get proper exercise. Elmo is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Elmo also just had a dental cleaning with an extraction. His adoption fee is $250. *Elmo is available for local adoptions only and a home visit will be required prior to adoption. Elmo's adoption fee covers one training session with new his family and our certified trainer/behaviorist to assist with a safe and smooth transition into his new home.
