You may fill out the application online at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog *** ABOUT THIS PET: Name: Victoria Breed: Rat Terrier (or mix) Age: 12 yrs Gender: Female Weight: 18 lb Adoption Fee: $200 Why in Rescue: Transfer from another rescue General Profile: Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs. Victoria spent most of her life as a breeding dog and didn't get much socialization. She finally got a chance at life as a pet, but had some health issues that needed to be taken care of first. She had surgery to fix a hernia before she came to us. She was found to have heartworm, so we treated her and she has now tested negative and is finally ready to find a home of her own. She is in a foster home and is doing fine with the other dogs in her foster home. She is gradually learning to come to her foster mom for petting. She needs an adopter that will accept her as she is, and enjoy the baby steps she continues to take. Victoria's foster mom says Victoria is potty pad trained. She is an affectionate girl who wants to sit in her lap and be petted, but is scared of that at the same time. She loves people food, and will always want whatever you are eating. She is sound sensitive and scared of thunderstorms. Victoria is a low energy girl who is quiet and calm in the house. She gets excited and wags her tail when her foster mom comes home. She would love to have a home of her own where she can continue to progress further in trusting humans and learning to love and be loved. If you are interested in meeting Victoria, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we will put you in touch with the foster family. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/adopting-puppy-mill-dog Adoption Procedures: 1. Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog. We will be checking with your vet if you have had pets, calling your landlord (if any) and checking a personal reference, before we contact you about visiting the adoptables. Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2. If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in. 3. If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her. In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day. If all the vetting hasn't been done yet, we will hold the pet for you until the vet work is completed. 4. If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application. You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time. Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us! The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $150 - $475 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested and started on preventative, microchipped, and dewormed. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections. To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you will also receive an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training for $50 (up to $200 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, Small Dogs Big Hearts, or Shy & Reactive Dog Class. You must start the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Many are in various foster homes getting extra one on one attention getting them ready for their new homes. The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application. Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs. Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog. It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy. The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. The Dog Pre-Adoption Application can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet! ***Other than during open hours, we do not show dogs/cats without an appointment. The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Please do not call until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets. If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work. We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home. If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed. We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time. Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out. We do have a 30 day trial period. For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, 50% of the adoption fee will be refunded within 30 days of the return of the dog. Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS

    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Grafton, WI
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Updated: 2/24/2017 Hi, I'm 2.0!! I am about 2 years old and weigh about 45 lbs. I know, I know, it's a silly name, but the folks down in the shelter called me that as I remind them of another awesome dog they loved. I am seeking an attentive and loving family to grow old with. I love burning off my energy by playing in the yard, going on walks (I do best with a harness), and playing with toys. I am such a sweet girl, my foster family nicknamed me Honey! I like to give kisses and snuggle up by you. I get excited when I meet other dogs because I want to play and interact, but once I get to know them I will settle down and go about my business. I am potty and crate trained. I've done great meeting kids (they were 8+ years old). I haven't had a chance to meet any cats yet. I love playing with toys!! I like it when you throw them for me, or play tug, but if you get busy I'm happy going off by myself to play. I know the hand command for sit and I learned this on day two! I am such a quick learner. I am bound to be your best bud! I am very eager to please you because I want to show you how much that I love you! Adoption Fee: $400.00 We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

I am about 1 year old and weigh about 40 lbs. I love everyone, and I am looking for a forever family to love me back! My foster mom says I have a sunny disposition and that I'm very affectionate and happy. I love children and all other dogs. I want to play with the cats that live here, but I am fine when they ignore me. I am now a lady during our daily walks and I'm quickly learning basic commands. I am potty trained and well behaved inside the home. I am a sweet little dog that is looking for a new family to love me, could that be you? Byron and Cedric are cute little boys who somehow lost their home. They were found wandering the streets and when they would get separated, they would go back to a certain area and meet up again. They would love to have a home back together again where they can be save and never have to worry about living on the streets again. They will both be neutered and have their teeth cleaned and other vet care updated prior to being adopted, but you can apply for them now. They are friendly boys and just need a minute or two to make sure they can trust you before they let you pick them up. But wouldn't you be a little nervous if a stranger way bigger than you reached down and tried to pick you up? Fill out the pre-adoption application and we will set up a time for you to meet this handsome pair. Cedric is the Tri-color (black, tan, white) and has a full tail, Byron is black and white and has a docked tail. We don't have a history on them, so don't know if they lived with other pets, or children or if they were housetrained. They seem like they would be fine with other small dogs, and older, respectful children. Adoption Procedures: 1. I'm just an all-around great gal who would prefer respectful older children and to be the only dog in the household. It doesn't take much to make me happy. All I want is a little love and attention and a special person to be my best buddy. I would make a perfect walking companion as the outdoors is my favorite place to be. If you're looking for a gentle canine companion to listen to you and laugh with, you've found her. Let's meet and start our love story today! BAHS Staff Note: Ziva tends to be selective about the dogs she likes so she needs to be the only dog in the household. No cats please. Ziva is also incredibly strong and will need help with learning to walk on a leash. Children 8+ please

Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. ~~READY TO RUN?! My name is Baylee Mae and I am an active girl seeking a loving family that can help tire me out. I absolutely love attention and lots of cuddles for hours on end. I am very intelligent so I will need either a dog sport, or training classes to keep my mind nice and sharp. If you work during the day please ensure that you hire a dog walker as I will not do well being left alone for long periods of time. I do enjoy older children as long as they are respectful and do not pull on my tail or fur. Just a warning I do give a lot of kisses so be prepared! I also enjoy lots of toys and my favorite game of tug. Come on down and meet me today! BAHS Staff Note: Baylee Mae does not get along with canine friends and would do best as the only dog in the home. She is very high energy and the adopter will need to put a lot of effort into working off her energy. We also ask that she go home with children 10+.

Posted Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer (short coat). This lovely lady is Juno, an 8 year old GSP. About two years ago, her family got her a companion to keep her company. All was well in Juno's world until her buddy of two years began acting aggressively toward Juno. Considering their options for their two dogs, Juno's family re-homed her for her safety. Juno moved in with a nice family that had another dog and settled in. Something wasn't quite right though. Juno missed the days of being an only dog. Her new family explains that Juno isn't aggressive toward their dog, and that he isn't aggressive toward her, but that both are still showing they are unhappy with the situation. After several months of trying to make adjustments to the situation, Juno still seems unhappy. Juno's family wants to help her find what she needs and deserves, a family where she can be the only pet and receive undivided love and attention. Juno is definitely a couch potato, but she enjoys short walks and is happy to take short hunting trips. Juno has been around both young children and teenagers, and is happy to love people of all ages. Juno is potty trained, fixed and up to date on vaccines. We are working with Juno's family to help her find her forever home. If that home could be with you, please email us at catkins_wi@yahoo.com or visit www.catkinsrescue.org for adoption applications.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). **I am currently on Medical Hold. The nice folks here noticed that I was having problems with my poop and none of the usual tests and treatments have helped. My vets are now working on blood tests and GI testing to see if I have a pancreatic problem. I'll be ready for a new home as soon as my team gets to the bottom of this!** This distinguished gentleman is Duke, and we can't say enough wonderful things about him! This 8 year old heartthrob, is goofy, affectionate and happy to meet pretty much everyone. Duke loves to meet new people of all genders, ages and energy levels, but he truly seems to be a lady's man at heart. He loves other dogs and is very outgoing, but even his most gentle play mode might be too much for little dogs. We've introduced Duke to a few cats, and he thinks they smell funny , but otherwise hasn't shown too much interest in them. Duke would flourish in a home that has time to go for long walks and play games. He loves spending time bouncing around with his people. Duke will also need a family that can show him patience as he learns about house life. He's learning about toilet flushes, car rides, and different types of flooring, but he spent 7 years on a chain and has a lot of catching up to do. He will also need help with potty training, but so far he's catching on very quickly. Duke is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and HW negative. He's been working on gaining weight ever since his arrival and still has a few pounds to gain, but he will happily gain that weight with his forever family and is officially cleared for adoption! For adoption applications, please visit our website www.catkinsrescue.org or email us at Catkins_wi@yahoo.com for more information.
