Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. This handsome boy is ready to find his soul mate human. Jake is a handsome German Shepherd dog who likes low drama, enjoys the outdoor life of walking, running, going to the beach, going to the snow, swimming in the lake. He likes balls, toys and hanging out. Protective but not over the top. Not a barker but will bark if something goes bump in the night. He gets along with a bossy female dog we have here-he simply lets her have her way. He is ready to be someones special boy-someone you can make memories with. He is a very, very handsome boy and turns heads where ever he goes. Adoption is $400.00 and includes his neuter, shots, rabies, chip, bordetella, worming treatment, flea meds for the month applied by the vet, and he comes with a two week trial. If you would like to meet Jake, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us for a meet and greet appointment which will be held in Elk Grove on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday this week. e-mail us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. Paws crossed that Jake is the one! Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Say Hi to Hansel!! Hansel is a nice boy but can be shy and somewhat skittish, he is unsure of new situations and will have to adjust going into a new home and needs a little patience. He wants to please but can be nervous. He came from death row from a shelter. He is a young german shepherd about 2 years old. He is good with all dogs and would be best going to a home with other dogs, he is submissive. He likes to go hiking. He needs a secure yard. Contact Trish at 505-907-3791 or email pacatrish@yahoo.com

    Cassie

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: San Diego, CA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Cassie is around 13 months. She came into the rescue afraid of everything. Her foster has been working with her to build trust, and Cassie has finally learned that she can trust the one she’s with. We don’t know what happened to her in her months before coming to rescue, but we know that she has a distrust of people in general, but especially men. For Cassie, having a canine companion who is a social butterfly would be the best thing, one that she can watch and learn from. After all, there are some things that no matter how much we try to teach, we cannot show her like another dog can show her. It doesn’t matter whether her canine companion is male or female. She doesn’t discriminate. Big or small, that’s okay too, although she does prefer someone who is large enough for her to play like a little German Shepherd plays, kinda rough sometimes. She would love a small pack of her own. A cat in the mix, okay too, as long as the cat is not too rough with her. Children, please no children. Cassie needs a quiet home with very low traffic while she continues her journey in socialization and trust. The natural chaos that children bring can be very scary for a dog like Cassie, especially when there are lots of play dates with strange children that she doesn’t know. At 13 months, she is still technically a puppy, so expect to lose a shoe or two if you don’t keep a watchful eye. Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Breed: German Shepherd Dog

    Age: Adult
    Location: Albuquerque, NM
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Say hi to Ivanhoe!! Ivanhoe came as his owner had no room or time for him. He is 1 1/2 years old. He is good with dogs. He is very friendly. He would like another appropriate doggie friend to play with. He does need a yard to run around in. He is a lot like an overgrown puppy and needs some obedience training and guidance. He was rather neglected at his previous home. He is also rather sensitive and needs some patience. He would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not. He weighs around 70 lbs. He would do best in a home without kids as he is rather rambunctious and acts like a very large puppy. Contact Trish at 505-907-3791 or email pacatrish@yahoo.com
