Little Trike is a special needs puppy, Mother had complications during birth so unfortunately he lost his back left foot. He is the sweetest little boy you will ever meet. He loves to play but more than that he just wants to cuddle up with you. It has been a bit of a challenge for him to learn how to carry himself but he has done a wonderful job! He is able to climb the stairs and run around and play with his parents and brothers. He is potty trained and working on crate training. He will lead a typical life and just wants to find the right person or family to care for and love him forever! ***IF YOU CALL AND GET NO ANSWER PLLEEAASSE LEAVE ME A VOICEMAIL AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU***

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Coco 2 year old Female German Shepherd good with other dogs and children, not good with cats, potty trained. This young lady is extremely nervous in new situations but once she gets to know her person gets very attached. Coco is potty trained but will revert temporarily in new situations due to her shyness. Loves to play once she is comfortable in the house. This young lady will need a home that will have an abundance of patience with her to bring out her playful puppy side. We will require her to go to a home with other dogs to help her adjust to the home. Please note we do not have a central kennel facility, all of our pets are located in foster homes. The first step in meeting one of our furry friends is to fill out an application on our website at www.rainbowrescues.org. A volunteer will be in contact with you in 1-2 business days to review your application and speak with you about the adoption process. Our adoption fees at this time are $250 for Adult dogs, $300 for puppies (6 months and under), $100 for senior dogs, $100 for cats, and a $50 fee for small animals. **Please be aware that we are not responsible for inaccurate information on some cross-posted sites such as inaccurate adoption fees and inaccurate pet info.**

Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Sex: Female Female
Age: Baby
Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Adoption Fee: 350.00. JUNO is a stunning, 3 year-old, all-black female, who came to MOGS all the way from an Owner Surrender at a rescue in Council Bluffs, IA. TEMPERAMENT Juno is a super sweet, easy-going girl who LOVES to play catch with almost anything you can throw. She does have some anxiety, especially in novel situations, and has a mild tendency towards being a velcro dog. She does know basic commands, and continues to work on them in her current foster home. OTHER ANIMALS Juno is good with both dogs and cats, although she sometimes has to be corrected for excessive curiosity towards other animals. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, and has been to doggie daycare with no issues. Another dog in the home is required, as it helps ease her nervousness, and she needs a role model as well. CHILDREN Juno has lived with children as young as 7 years-old and does well. MEDICAL Juno has been diagnosed with a seizure disorder, and requires multiple medications to manage this issue. This should be considered a life-long medical management issue, and she will need ongoing care after adoption into a forever home. If you're looking for a super-smart German Shepherd for your lifetime companion, JUNO might be the girl of your dreams! JUNO's ADOPTION FEE: $350 This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING JUNO? Complete an Adoption Application Now! PLEASE READ THIS: We're picky about our adopters! GSDs are not for everyone. They take a lot of time, effort and training. They shed all year round. They're big and scare lots of people. They "mouth" and are usually strong-willed and stubborn. You have to have references and a home visit. If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time applying. All MOGS dogs must be inside family pets. We do not adopt to outdoor only homes. When you're not home, you must put your dog indoors (NOT in the yard). One adopted MoGS dog died after the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, someone opened the gate, and she was hit by a car. Privacy fences get broken into, gates are opened, thieves steal dogs. NEVER leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!! You're required to make a lifetime commitment. The minute you adopt, it is your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE. Only you can do that. Are you unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment? Do not apply. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes? New baby? Divorce? Moving? How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up? If you move? If you have a child? You're making a lifetime commitment to a MOGS Dog. We expect you to keep it! It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what. Have Questions? Email us at mogsrescue@gmail.com Thank you for considering a homeless dog or cat.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). ATTENTION: If you are interested in adopting me, please read our FAQ and Adoption Process at www.shenandoahrescue.org 7/26/2017: We’ve received a wonderful update on Peaches. It’s well worth a read if you’re interested in her. Peaches is a sweet, 2 ½ year old GSD. (We don’t know her birthday.) She loves to play with tennis balls. She will go around holding one or two in her month in the house. She loves it when you toss them for her to catch in the air or throw them. She has not shown interest in other toys much. We have a large back yard where she loves to run. Our neighbor has two dogs and she races them along the fence line. She can keep this up for a while. If the dogs are not out, she generally runs around exploring. She doesn’t do much on slow speed when outdoors. She gets much of her exercise doing that as well as going for walks. She doesn’t bark much. In the home, she is quiet, barking only when sirens go past. She barks a little at new people and animals, but only until she has met them. She DOES NOT chew! Peaches has not destroyed any of our property by chewing. We don’t let her on the furniture, but she would love to cuddle in your lap if you let her. Feeding Peaches has EPI. Simply put, her pancreas does not work as it should. It is very easy to keep her healthy though. Enzymes are added to her food at each meal, which helps her digestion. If these enzymes are not added, she will starve to death. At this time, we give her 3 cups of food, 3 times a day. 1 tsp of enzymes is sprinkled on the food and approx. ½ a cup of hot water. Mix and then let sit for 20 minutes. We leave the food in the microwave so she cannot get at it while she is waiting. She will pace around during that time. I set the timer and she knows when it goes off that her food is ready! I stir it once more before setting it down before her. We use a special bowl to slow her eating down. It takes her 7 minutes to eat with this bowl. Otherwise, she gulps it down in 30 seconds. She takes in too much air that way and there is the chance of a twisted bowel. We do give her treats, but limit the amount. She loves watermelon, but she can’t have too much or the seeds. She did eat cucumber from my garden. Without permission, of course. Peaches’ stools can range from being loose, to being the proper consistency. This is due to the digestive issue. The better she digests her food, the better her poops will look. Because of her history of starving, she has a habit of eating her poop. We have been disposing of it immediately to curb this. General Health Other than the EPI, Peaches is very healthy. She has gone from 34 to 62 lbs. She has gained her strength and her activity level is pretty much normal. She has 1 B-12 shot left, which she will need to have on 8/2/17. She has a Seresto collar for fleas which will need to be replaced in March. She is being given probiotics once a day to help firm up her stools and she is also on Heartworm prevention medicine. The probiotics are sprinkled on her food. Peaches has not been spayed, but will hopefully have that done in the next couple of weeks. She has very itchy skin. It has been suggested by the vet that she is bathed once a week for the short term, then every couple of weeks. Do not use shampoo with medicine in it. Mild shampoo with oatmeal works well. Don’t use dish soap or baby wash. Wipe her down once a day with baby wipes to help with the itching. If that doesn’t help, you can add Zyrtec, 10 mg once a day or Benadryl, 50-75 mg every 8-12 hours. Zyrtec was recommended by the vet. If she is still itchy, her diet might have to be altered. Ideal Family Situation My most important recommendation I have is that she is in a home without cats. Or at least a home with dog savvy cats. As her health has progressed, Peaches has become far too interested in cats. Her prey drive is strong and she loves to chase them. From what we have seen, she does very well with other dogs. After the first hello sniffs, she has ignored them for the most part. My daughters, 7 & 10, hang off her and she has never complained or growled at them. In fact, the only time I have heard her growl is at the vet when they tried to take her temperature! Training Peaches is crate trained. She spends the night in her crate and is there when we are not at home. We could leave her out, but prefer not to with our cats. We recommend that you use a pronged collar when walking Peaches . She is still learning how to heel and walk properly on a leash. She is very strong and pulls hard otherwise. She still pulls a little on the pronged collar, but it is easy to correct. We have taken her on walks through the neighborhood and she also enjoyed the hiking we have done. She knows how to sit, stay, shake and down. She is a quick learner. We do not recommend feeding Peaches treats from your hand. She has not learned to take them gently yet. Peaches lets you know when she wants to go outside by coming and looking at you. Then she heads to the door. If you don’t respond quickly enough, she will whine. If I take too long to get her in the morning, she whines from her crate. She was very nervous when she first came to us. She had a few small accidents. Some of them were not her fault. She has since leveled out and we haven’t had any accidents at all.
