    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Fremont, CA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. We were Sammy's last hope at a super over-crowded shelter. He is friendly craves gentle attention & takes treats gently. He has very expressive ears & beautiful tail feathers. Sammy seems like one of those boys that would follow you everywhere and is very polite. Dog friendly and very sweet. More info. to come as he relaxes in our foster home. UPDATE: Sammy is doing great at his foster home with another female GSD. They love playing and going for long walks. He is a love. However Sammy seems to be always hungry despite 3 meals per day. So they have to watch him carefully or he will counter surf. We are increasing his meals with red meat and sweet potato. Here is his shelter video by volunteers: https://youtu.be/eRHqIST_WIg House-training is in progress. Update: He is now doing much better and not counter surfing.YouTube: https://youtu.be/eRHqIST_WIg

    Beauty

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Decatur, GA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Gorgeous black Beauty is well-trained in all of the basics. She's crate and house-trained, knows commands, has good off-leash recall and even knows tricks. She is very loyal and good at listening to his person. She has been raised in a loving home, with a teenager and her littermate, Blaze. Beauty is now looking for a home that has time and interest in providing some training to address her reactivity to other dogs (outside of her littermate, Blaze) and socialization needs. She is reactive to other dogs on walks, but very shy/frozen when she's out of her home territory. She can definitely be improved with patient conditioning, but her current family does not have the time or space to offer it right now. Due to her reactivity and prey drive, we feel Beauty will need a securely fenced yard. If you're unfamiliar with reactive dogs, please read: http://www.ddfl.org/resource/understanding-reactivity-in-dogs. Beauty needs a dedicated adopter who will patiently guide him toward better behaviors. She would learn fast via a 'Reactive' class, geared toward this behavior and similar to what's described at: http://frogstodogs.com/training/. Can you provide this highly-intelligent Beauty with what she needs to be a most awesome companion? Age: 3 years Weight: 85 lbs. Temperament: Enjoys people and older kids; not good with other dogs or cats (high prey drive) Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained, good-off leash recall, knows commands and tricks Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Contact adopt@doggieharmony.org with questions or complete/send an Adoption Application. We look forward to hearing from you. This adoptable is not in the Doggie Harmony program; s/he is a courtesy listing on behalf of the kind person who is caring for this pet until a forever home is found. There will be a fee to reimburse for the cost of its vetting/care; it may vary by caregiver/animal. Additionally, you will be asked to complete an application and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle. If you would like to proceed with the application, please click Adoption Application now.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Espie IS AVAILALBE (updated 04-20-2017).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Espie, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21721&name=EspieEspie is a very affectionate, medium-sized white shepherd who gets along great with kids as well as adults she knows and trusts. She loves to run and play and will do best in an active home. She walks nicely on a leash and absolutely loves belly rubs! She enjoys playing with other dogs, big and small, but can get a bit rambunctious in her play! One thing she loves to do is bark at cats and birds. She understands her basic commands - sit, down, stay, but like all good dogs would enjoy continued education and benefit from advancing her skills. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

We don't know what happened to her, prior to landing at the shelter, but we do know that she's now happy and safe with us! Raven is a total love-bug! She can sometimes be shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly and is a total doll. She gets along with large male dogs, is potty trained, crate trained, good in the house and would make a great addition to a family that has another confident dog who can model for her. She does better with women than men, but an experienced home who can be alpha and build her confidence that will let her assimilate into their family over time will be ideal. Both of her pups were recently adopted and now it's time for her to have her fairy-tale storybook ending. Could you be part of helping to write that story for her?The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. He is a nice dog who is generally easy going and responds well to people. He is goofy and fun loving, enjoys playing, and taking walks or hikes. He has learned how to be on a leash, but could be a tad better. Drone is not aggressive, but can display 'attitude' sometimes. He most likely never had structure in his life and does what he can to get his way. He will need someone who is a leader and will work with him. Previous GSD experience is a plus.Drone could do well in a home with another dog about his own size He loves to play with other dogs. He may play too rough with a small dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. Thor D5699

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Fremont, CA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. We rescued Thor and Loki from a city shelter when we were their last hope due to their behavior issues (un-trained not socialized active dog reactive). We spent more time testing both. Both are super friendly with each other very people friendly affectionate and eager to learn. However both were not dog socialized since they were pups (common issue of someone getting 2 pups & not socializing/training them) so they both are dog reactive when they see new dogs. Shelter and FFR spent more time testing after exercising first then training them to see their potential and personality. Within the hour both are very smart and learned to listen to their handler not pull on the leash and not bark at other dogs. Soon each learned to sit stay calm and get a reward/treat. Both are very treat motivated. Both have no ball drive but maybe too distracted at the shelter. They have great potential but are 'wild child' (under-socialized) teenagers that need time to learn train and socialize with other dogs by a very experienced guardian/trainer. Thor is the big brother and more outgoing/reactive than Loki. Loki follows along. GSD experienced adult home only. NO cats (have prey drive). Both are gorgeous and lovable with people. With training they will soon be perfect and loyal buddies.

They are quite content to stay in the house or yard as long as they are together with a chew bone or toy to keep them busy. These smart and gorgeous girls have learned sit, down & come and pick up new training really well. The girls will do best in a quiet home with no small children and no small dogs. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. We were alerted and decided that his family's misfortune couldn't be the end of his hopes and dreams. This handsome boy gets along with large female dogs (he prefers young, playful girls), walks well on a leash, loves playing with stuffed animals & balls, and is a real sweetheart once he knows you.
