    Lakota

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Wylie, TX
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Lakota is a pure bred German Shepherd Dog. She is a very sweet but timid girl who would do best in a home with another large breed dog to rough house and play with. She is very sweet natured but can be nervous upon first meeting of new people. Once she warms up she is a big baby who will be your shadow. Lakota would do best with children 10years and older as she doesn't quite know her size still. She is fixed, vaccinated fully, microchipped and current on heartworm/flea prevention. She is very healthy and was rescued from her breeder who originally had intentions of keeping her. Lakota is kennel trained and doing well in the house but still has the occasional mishap. Adoption fee $250 through Astasia's Angels Animal Rescue

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Meet Rhonda, a gorgeous 9 year old German Shepherd who had the misfortune to end up in a high kill shelter where few dogs make it out. Thankfully, in her eleventh hour, she was saved and was brought to NJ to find her forever home. Rhonda is a super sweet girl who gets along with other dogs and loves people! She is a gentle and elegant lady. Like most GSD's, she is intelligent and very good at learning new things. Rhonda enjoys car rides and is fantastic on leash. She is a very easy going girl and one is left to wonder how anyone could give up her up. If you want to meet with Rhonda, be sure to go to our website, EHRDOGS.ORG, and submit an application!! Don't forget to mention her name, RHONDA ROME!!!

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. Belle IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-25-2017).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Belle, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21720&name=BelleBelle is an adorable 13-month-old black and tan GSD who knows basic commands and gets along with other dogs. She's very sweet, is easy on a leash, and follows direction well. Belle is currently in obedience training boot camp, because, while she loves people, she's very submissive and timid. This beauty is going to need a family who can give her structure, boundaries, and love, helping her grow up a perfectly balanced girl. Could that be you?The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

    Damien

    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Damien- Damien is a stunning German Shepherd boy. He is a handsome guy with a stunning black and brown coat. He has natural ears and tail. He is a big guy and when he fills out he is going to be a stunner. He is a great dog with everything you would expect from a shepherd. He is amazing and we know that he will make someone an amazing dog. We adore the big guy and know that he will make someone a great forever pet. Damien came to us when his owner had surgery and could no longer care for him. He is still puppy at heart and she was going to be down for a few months and could not care for him. He did great with her dogs and was an all around amazing dog but she knew that it was not fair for him. We offered to help and are so glad that we did. He is a great dog and someone is getting an amazing pet who just needed a little love and training Damien is a silly guy. He loves to play with rocks and balls. He will roll them around for hours. His favorite toy is a kong EGG, it’s a hard egg shaped toy. He will talk to it and have a great time. He loves to go for rides and is a champ about it. He does great with other dogs and loves to play and even does great with kids, and adults too. He is a great dog. He does need a slow intro to cats but has done well once he knows that he can not play with them. He is an amazing guy who would excel at anything asked of him. He is amazing and we adore him Damien is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, and altered. He is house broken, crate trained and does ok on leash. He is still working on basic commands as he had none when he first came to us. He is doing great with dogs, cats and kids. But like any dog we suggest an introduction time. He has not shown any health issues or allergies which can be common with the breed. He came to us very thin but is gaining weight. Right now he is on puppy food to help with his weight gain. But he plays so hard that gaining weight has been done slow. Plus it is safer to do so. He is an amazing and smart dog and will make someone a great pet! We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    Charlie

    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Morrisville, NC
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). If you're interested in adopting any SGSR dog, please read about our Adoption Process and fill out an Adoption Application. Visit our website for more information, including Frequently Asked Questions. UPDATED BIO: Hi! I’m Charlie! You might have seen me here before, about a year ago I was adopted with my brother but in the end my new parents were unable to care for us both. I’m back with my original foster mom and she says I am still the same sweet, playful and loving dog that she remembers! I can’t decide which I love more - playing with my foster brother (an SGSR alum) or snuggling with my foster mom. Foster mom says I would do really well with a family who wants to shower me with attention or one who has another dog for me to play with. I might be a little shy when I first meet you, but don’t worry, that wears off quickly. My foster brother is an alpha male and foster mom says he helps keep me in line and shows me the ropes. I like to push his buttons but roll over and show my belly as soon as he makes a move. I also live with a female SGSR alum, but she thinks she’s hot stuff and only pays attention to me when I have food left over in my bowl and wants to steal it! I also live with three dog savvy cats. In my previous home, I lived with kids and did great with them. Since I am still young (about a year and a half) foster mom says she would really like for my adopter to engage me in some training, since it will help me be the best dog I can be! I already know how to sit and will do it if foster mom asks, even under distractions. I also comes when she calls my name and I respond very well to verbal correction. I am house trained, crate trained, and haven’t chewed on anything I’m not supposed to so far. I am very treat motivated. Foster mom says I’m a GSD mix, since I am on the smaller side at 55 lbs and have a touch of white on my chest. I also have a cute curly, fluffy tail. She tells me I have one of the softest, silkiest coats - she knows this because she pets me all the time! I am a snuggle bug! If you would like to meet me, please let your adoption coordinator know. I am being fostered in Hillsborough, NC. Previous Bio: ~~Hi SGSR world, I'm Charlie! I was roaming the streets with my brother Levi, just trying to get by, when Animal Control picked us up and took us to a local shelter. We were so nervous at that place, but luckily a really nice volunteer from SGSR helped us bust out of there! Now we are living the good life in our foster home, hanging out with two SGSR alums and a few kitty cats. I would love to find a forever home with my brother Levi, but if not, at least a home where I can get lots of attention! I am approximately 7 months old, 45 lbs, and a whole lotta puppy love. I get along with other dogs big and small, people of all ages, and even the kitties. Though since I am so young and playful, I might chase them if they run. But foster mom says I correct very easily. My favorite things are snuggling with my foster mom, romping around in the yard with my brother, and learning new commands (mostly because I get treats - yum!) Even though I lived outside most of my life, I am learning that it's the only acceptable place to go to the bathroom. As long as foster mom takes me out often, I am pretty good about going where I should. I can make it through the night too, as long as I eat and drink on schedule, and foster mom doesn't get too lazy and sleep in! I'm a very happy, goofy pup and foster mom says that everyone who meets me thinks I am SO adorable. I'm super soft and fuzzy, and people just love to pet me. When I first got to foster mom's house, I didn't know what a leash was and it frightened me a bit. But now I know it means I get to go outside with the big dogs! I even walk well on a leash now, and foster mom doesn't even have to use the harness any more. Man I wish I could go off leash with the others though, I love good game of chase. Foster mom says a big back yard and another dog to play with would be so perfect for me. If you'd like to meet me, please let your adoption coordinator know. I am being fostered in Hillsborough, NC with Levi. Our adoption process consists of a telephone interview, a call to your veterinarian and a home visit. If you have any questions about the adoption process please contact sgsrescue@gmail.com .

    Picasso

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Wichita, KS
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Newfoundland Dog. Picasso is a very loving man who just wants a person or family of his own to lie down next to and have a relaxing night. He is good with dogs, cats, and children. He enjoys short walks and time outside with his people. Picasso really loves a clean, tidy house and is eager to help keep it neat. If you leave your undergarments lying around, he helps clean up by consuming them! If you're looking for a sweet, loving older dog that is fully trained, then Picasso is the perfect fit for you. He needs to stay groomed, otherwise he has skin problems. The use of a medicated shampoo helps control the issue. He has bilateral sub luxating hips (hip dysplasia), but he maneuvers stairs just fine. If he has a flair up, a little Rimadyl helps with his discomfort.

    Karma

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Mt. Airy, MD
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. **UPDATE:Sweet Karma was returned to MAGSR through no fault of her own - her family was not able to keep her. Karma is finishing up her heartworm treatment and she has been wonderful through it during her crate restriction. Karma is very anxious to be adopted by a family who will commit to her for her life and to start her life heartworm free. If snuggles and kisses sound like something you're looking for, then Karma may be a good fit for your family, so please ask to meet her now. Update:Karma has settled in nicely to her foster home and is enjoying her new life while she awaits her forever home. She enjoys hanging out with her foster brothers and sisters, getting out for her short walks, and giving lots of kisses and tail wags to whomever she can reach. Karma has a sweet and playful personality that gets along with kids and other dogs. Also, Karma’s heartworm treatment is going well. Treatment is relatively easy to do, it just takes a few months. It requires an oral antibiotic with her meals for the first month, and three injections over the course of last two months. After receiving the injections, she is put on crate restriction to limit activity and help her recovery. This crate restriction is actually a great time to adopt the dog, as it allows the dog to get used to their new home in a calm environment and to slowly introduce freedom in the house. Karma is available for adoption while she’s receiving treatment, so if you’re interested in meeting this sweet girl, contact your adoption coordinator today! Sweet Karma came to MAGSR underweight and from a very sad situation. Karma previously lived in a hoarding situation with 14 other dogs. Karma was underfed and used for breeding. Because of all that Karma has endured, she is confused and just needs to learn to trust and know she'll be well taken care of. Karma tested heartworm positive when seen by a MAGSR vet, She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment Care for these hoarding rescues is putting a severe strain on MAGSR's resources. Donations towards their treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs. Visit our website at www.magsr.org for more info and to fill out our online adoption application.
