Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat). Friends, this dog is amazing! He doesn't let anything hold him back from being the greatest good boy ever. So many people are so surprised to find that he is blind since he certainly doesn't fit that description. He has just been an all out, sweet baby angel. He attends Doggy Daycare during the day (where I work) and never pulls on the leash, he has bonded and adjusted so quickly with me and my girls (my dogs) I just know there is someone out there right for him. He takes his steps with confidence and really knows his way around, given the chance to learn his surroundings, he can even play fetch and wrestle! He is also the best snuggler ever and believes he is a little lap dog. All he could ever want is patience, love, kisses and to curl up right beside you at night or any time of the day.

More About Gerberian Shepsky Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Meet King! King came to us when his owner decided he could no longer care for him. He has spent his whole life living in a pen outdoors so everything is new to him. He's still a little on the shy side but is making huge strides in learning to adjust to his new found love and attention. King and Queen are wonderful dogs around 6-7 years. They will take some time to adjust to a new home. They came from an extreme neglect situation and are doing well with me but still skittish around new situations or people. It is amazing how resilient animals are! They were malnourished and living in a pen for years with little human contact. They love other dogs and will play for hours but will wait to come in the door until the coast is clear of humans. They do not love the human touch but will tolerate it and show no aggression when touched, just discomfort. King and Queen will thrive in a calm, quiet household with another dog and lots of love. King and Queen are very bonded and i fear might regress if separated.Come meet King and give him the home that he deserves. For more information: releashedrescue@gmail.com

      Breed: English Foxhound

      Age: Senior
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Foxhound (short coat). Jethro showed up on our property on July 5th and was not able to defecate. We took him to the vet and they diagnosed him with anal hernias possibly caused by not being neutered. We neutered him and repaired the hernias and he is good as n ew! We even cleaned his teeth. Jethro refuses to bay at adoptions but when he sees an intruder, it is a beautiful sound! Jethro loves to snuggle and is around 10 but in great shape for an old man!
