    Marley *spec...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Goldendoodle
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Marley's adopter should be experienced with dogs and willing to work with a professional trainer. Marley is a big, STRONG goofball. He doesn't realize how big he is and since he is a bit unmannerly, hanging around with him means big muddy paws on your shoulders and lots of wet slobbery kisses. He needs lots of exercise, so he would be best with an active person or family. Marley lived most of his life outdoors and he needs obedience training to make sure he's the best pet he can be. Marley has a history of guarding toys and high-value food from people and other pets. He is an exceptionally skilled snack thief and likes to take (and keep) your food for himself! Marley has some anxiety, especially around doors. If people come over and ring/knock, he gets overexcited. He needs lots of training with this issue to prevent accidents at entrances. Marley cannot live with children because of his history of resource guarding. He can live with other dogs and possibly cats but only if his owner will be extremely careful about leaving toys/food out. Name: Marley Location: Old City Adoption Center Breed: Goldendoodle (Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label) Age: 4-6 years old Weight: 55 pounds Reason for surrender to shelter: Marley's owner surrendered him because she didn't have enough time to spend with him. If you are interested in meeting Marley, please email dogs@phillypaws.org for an application. If you have questions, please email the above address or contact our adoption staff at 215-298-9680, ext. 16. Animal ID#A35097130 (Updated AW 9/12/17) PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization. PAWS pulls at-risk animals from the City of Philadelphia's animal control shelter and adopts them out from several locations: our Old City adoption center (2nd and Arch Streets), our Northeast Adoption Center (1810 Grant Avenue); our Wellness Clinic at 2900 Grays Ferry Avenue; our adoption locations at the South Philly and Cottman Avenue PetSmart stores; and, our network of foster homes. PAWS is dedicated to saving the lives of Philadelphia's homeless, abandoned and unwanted animals and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. When you adopt a pet from PAWS you truly save a life! Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring about this pet. Both PAWS Adoption Centers are open Monday-Friday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. PAWS' Wellness Clinic is open Monday - Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but appointments are required for adoptions. Adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and microchipping. No animals may be adopted without being spayed or neutered. Adoption fees are as follows: $150 for large adult dogs (older than 1 year); $250 for small dogs (under 25 lbs) and all puppies (under 1 year); $50 for adult cats (over 6 months of age), and $100 for kittens (under 6 months of age). When you adopt a pair of kittens together, the total adoption fee is $150. Please visit our web site, www.phillypaws.org, for our full calendar of adoption events throughout the region, and for more information on adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

    Luna

    rescue
    Breed: Goldendoodle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Luna and Apollo 17-044 are a bonded pair and will be placed together. Luna was 6 on July 6th and Apollo will be 6 on October 13th. They are both 75% Golden Retriever and 25% Standard Poodle. Luna is a striking grey/silver, curly coated Doodle beauty. Apollo has the sleek Golden coat and good looks of a pure bred Golden Retriever. Luna likes to lay at your feet or under the coffee table. She is extremely intuitive about what her humans are doing and feeling and cares deeply for the people that love her. She enjoys lots of physical affection and soft encouraging words. She is highly motivated by food/treats and the positive reinforcement/treat method of training. She is still timid with loud noises or large unusual moving objects (such as a large suitcase wheeling around the room or a vacuum cleaner). She has never really been interested in dog toys or playing fetch, she’d rather sit by you and have her ears scratched. Luna is a tolerant, obedient, gentle, unassuming, loyal companion dog. Apollo is very confident and very friendly and assumes everyone wants to be his best friend. Everybody LOVES Apollo. His confidence sometimes can border on “independent thinking”. He is a true “people person” and wants to be where the action is and does not like it when his people are away. He gets bored if he’s cooped up too long. He loves to run and play fetch and chase birds and say hi to the neighbors through the fence. He is very afraid of fireworks, very loud noises and thunderstorms. On a rainy/lightning day, you can expect him to follow you around and try to constantly put his paw or chin on you to make sure you’re safe from the storm. On New Years Eve and the 4th of July, please make sure he is somewhere safe so he doesn’t panic from fireworks and try to escape. He is definitely the “golden boy” and seriously, everybody loves him. Together they are Yin and Yang, the perfect pair for a loving and happy, active family. If you are interested in Luna and Apollo, please visit our webpage at http://www.arizonagoldenrescue.org/ and complete an Online Adoption Application to begin the process, or send an e-mail to info@arizonagoldenrescue.org if you have questions and wish to be contacted. Prior to adoption, all AGR dogs are given a full vet exam, including valley fever and heartworm tests, brought up to date on all vaccinations, given a microchip, neutered or spayed, and treated for any medical problems.
