verifiedPosted Breed: Irish Setter (long coat). "Brian" is a 4½ year-old male Irish Setter. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is healthy, house broken and crate trained. He is great with adults, children and other dogs. "Brian" is desperately seeking a forever home. His previous owner, a kind elderly gentleman, developed health problems and can no longer care for "Brian". Such has been the story of "Brian". He has been placed in loving homes but each time, due to unforeseen circumstances, he finds himself back in rescue. "Brian" is on a weight-loss diet. Due to a sedentary life, he has gained some weight. He is hoping to lose about 15 lbs. The ideal home for "Brian" is one with a loving, active family, who can devote time to giving him lots of attention, exercise and affection. A home where he will be secure and stable as a permanent family member. A family who is committed to making their home his forever "forever" home. If you are seeking a life-long companion and are looking for a big, red-headed sweet boy, this is your guy! Brian is currently in a foster home in the San Francisco bay area. If you would like to make "Brian" a life-long member of your family please submit a NorCal Irish Setter Rescue Adoption Form.

verifiedPosted Breed: Irish Setter / Chocolate Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Aisin was a feral (wild) dog living outside a factory in London, Kentucky. Born in the wild, she had no social interaction with humans. Factory workers left food scraps outside for her until the factory owners decided to have her shot. A local animal rescue organization, Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation, trapped her to save her from being killed. Aisin arrived at the rescue frightened, unsocialized and missing much of her fur from mange. She was scared of the kennel environment and was transferred to World Animal Foundation for rehabilitation. Aisin arrived terrified of humans and hid under a bed for several days, refusing to eat or even move. She trembled and defecated if anyone came close to her. After several days she began to come out of hiding for food and water at night when no one was around. After several weeks she slowly began to take treats from humans. After a month she gained the courage to go outside during the day and slowly began interacting with other dogs. Aisin is now house broken, plays with other dogs and follows humans around. She begs for treats and now plays with toys. She will let her caretakers touch her, but is still shy and cautious. She is terrified of a leash but volunteers are slowly working to leash train her. She needs a patient family willing to continue to work with her. Whoever adopts her will need to understand that she'll probably start off shy and timid. She's very gentle, likes other dogs and does well with cats. Aisin is about 5 years old, spayed, wormed, current on vaccines and microchipped. Her hair is almost all grown back in and is now soft and shiny. Aisin is a special dog who deserves to live. She is very low maintenance and will require a fenced yard and other dogs to interact with. Her adoption fee is $150.00. If you are interested, please contact Homeward Bound at 859-490-0486 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
