Posted Breed: Spaniel / Italian Greyhound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption fee is $50, this dog is approx. 5 yrs old and 13-15 pounds. Toffee is a sweet fun dog, and very cute to boot. He prefers dogs of a similar size or to be a only dog, he gets frightened by larger dogs. He is always happy to greet you and dances on his hind legs. He enjoys when new people shower him in attention. He can be shy and standoffish with some but not all men. He loves older kids to but he gets nervous and scared with the kids that like to chase dogs and play with them rough as the younger ones tend to do and he will bit at them. He likes to go for walks and will dance while you are getting the leash. He is pretty much housebroken but takes a bit of time to adjust in a new space. He knows how to sit and shake and a few other things like dancing in a circle. He is cute as can be and would love to find a family. That's most of the good things about this really cute dog.. now for known bad habits we have seen, which is really just one thing that is common among spoiled small dogs and it has been pretty much diminished with the training and one on one time spent with him to eliminate this behavior. Toffee is a sweet dog and is most of the time when things are going his way .. It seems he had been spoiled little brat in his previous home and learned to use his mouth when things didn't go his way, but this isn't why he lost his home, his previous owner was a elderly lady that was no longer able to care for him. We have corrected the majority of this behavior, but he will need continued training going into a new home so he don't go back to his old ways. He will have to be treated like a dog with rules boundaries and limitations. If you can handle telling a dog to sit before he is fed, and other simple things and not treat him like a king on his throne all will go well. Examples of when he has sometimes acted out is like if he is being put into his crate and he didn't want to.(which he likes his crate) During getting towel dryed off after a bath something must of spooked him or the towel rubbing was to rough and a snarl for being moved off the couch. The adoption fee is $50.This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption fee is $100, this dog is approx. 1.5 yrs old and is about 55 pounds Hi My name is Sasha, I like my people, I like some of the boy doggies to not so much for the girl dogs or the smaller fuzzy critters. I would do fine with another boy dog similar size to play with or as a only dog. I am active but not surper hyper like some huskies. I would love to be a part of your family.. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines after you send your application. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system(cost approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Some of our dogs we will require this prior to adoption due to known escape habits or the type of fencing you have. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when there needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Also we likely have other Huskies or Malamutes for adoption find out by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. The adoption fee is $100. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption fee is any donation to the rescue to help her cost or care, this dog is approx. 11 yrs old and is about 65 pounds . She is special needs as she is shy with humans Lenora is looking so great. She loves to swim in her pool (even in the cold). She will be spayed soon and then will be looking for her forever home. Her IDEAL home would have no small children and be someone with enough time to train her. She lived on a chain and didn't have a lot of interaction with people or other animals. She would like to be the only dog. Not a huge fan of cats. Crate trained. Hasn't had an accident in the house yet . At 11 years old this beauty still has A LOT of love to give to the right person. Her fee is negotiable to the BEST home. Secure yard is a MUST. as you can see she has to be on a tie out because she can get over a privacy fence. This is not a dog you can get and just stick in the back yard. She deserves more and we are going to make sure she gets it All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption fee is $150, this dog is approx. 2 yrs old and is about 65 pounds Hey it's Koto here, I ended up at Pet Angels after serving some stray time at the Edmond, Ok pound, seems my owners didn't care to look for me, that happens some times. Foster mom says us huskies can be hard to deal with and are crafty at escaping yards and some people just give up on us. So I need a new people who will keep me and love me and exercise me and will do everything possible to keep me in a yard. I would make a awesome running buddy for you, I promise I can outrun you. I love to romp and play and wrestle rough with the other dogs here at the rescue. I would like a doggie play buddy in my new home and one that can handle rowdy play. I don't do small dogs so should be around pets over 25 lbs I also failed my kitty test seems little fluffy things are just not my thing to be nice with.. I personally think they make a good toy but I guess that is frowned upon. So it should be noted my prey drive is rather high and needs to be kept in check. So if you think I am the guy for you, come and check me out... All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Adoption fee is $150, this dog is approx. 3 yrs old and 75 pounds Captain is a active German Shepherd that will need to be kept busy, but also with his family. He is very loving and sweet and good around other dogs He will require a very secure yard and can clear a 10ft fence so a electric shock wire is needed. He prefers to stay close with his people and don't like thunder storms or fireworks. He is a great loving boy but has anxiety over being left alone and storms and loud noises he needs a dedicated owner that is home a lot. Captain was cat tested and done very poorly, worse then any dogs I have tested in some time, he had a very strong drive to go after the cat, it was not curiosity it very a very strong prey drive and he should NOT be in a home with cats. And since he can break out of a wire crate and go over 6 foot fences, the home, the area needs to be cat free. Adoption fee is $150, this dog is approx. 2.5 - 3 yrs old and is about 65 pounds *Good with other dogs (better with males) *Has basic manners *Totally kick ass looking eyes. Hi my name is Karlee I am a fun loving girl that loves the wadding pool, getting attention and YOU, I love YOU. I have not met many strangers I mean some of you humans are stranger then others but as long as you pet me I am all good. I get along well with the other dogs here at the rescue, but sometimes I am not the best fit with other bossy female dogs, some of them are just B**ches if you know what I mean . I was found roaming the streets and my owners didn't find me and I landed at this rescue place, I thought I was just going to hang for a bit and someone would come and snatch up my awesome face, but nope still here waiting on you to come and adopt me, what is taking you so long? . It's unknown if I had poor fences or just good husky skills, they have things kinda on lock down here at the rescue... but I have to admit I have given them the slip before also so my husky skills are pretty slick. So not leaving me outside unsupervised and a secure yard is a must, a electric hot wire would make it so I could hang outside and not be as prone to escape I am trained to one here at the rescue so it's a easy adjustment. I don't mind my kennel but have not had to be in one long.. Also I have put on a few pounds eating my sadness about not having a family of my own and could use a new friend to take me jogging or hiking.. Do you want to be my new buddy? I have been waiting awhile for someone to love me.. _________________________________ All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. Cora & Akira...

      rescue
      Breed: Siberian Husky-Unknown Mix
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: Edmond, OK
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption fee is $100 for the pair, these dogs are approx. 4-6 yrs old and are in the 50 pound range Our names are Cora & Akira we are a mother daughter pair that have a strong bond & we would love to stay together. Huskies are better in pairs anyway. So we come 2 for 1 Known History: These 2 where originally pulled by Pet Angels Rescue in Oct of 2012 where they where impounded together in the Oklahoma City pound as strays. There where adopted together shortly afterwards but sadly came back to the rescue in Early 2016, 4 years later, due to the family moving and being unable to take them with them. They are housed with other similar sized dogs at the rescue in a group environment but they always stick together. About Momma Cora: Hello, my name is Cora and I am a all Husky. It takes me a while to warm up to people, well not that long, but once I know that I am safe and that I can trust you, you will have my loyalty. I love everyone that is nice to me and treats me right. I love to run and go for walks. . I do not like smaller animals, such as squirrels, cats, opossums, rabbits, I will chase them. I howl every time I hear sirens. I really like treats too, so, when I am told to sit, I will sit on command. I love to play ball, but it’s usually to beat other dogs from getting the ball. I am sneaky like that. About Daughter Akira: Hi I am Akira I am a tad bit of a mix ,my daddy is unknown but it's assume was a Shepherd mix, maybe Shepherd husky since I am still mostly husky. I love to be rubbed on my belly. I’ve been told that I have no control over my licker, I just know that I love to lick people. I have a really loud bark unlike most huskies, but I just use that to let you know when something is going on. I love to run and enjoy going on walks. I like the taste of dirt. I love children and adults, as long as they treat me well. Like my momma I also do not like smaller animals, such as squirrels, cats, opossums, rabbits, I will chase them. I join in chorus with mom & howl every time I hear sirens. I really like treats too, so, when I am told to sit, I will sit on command. I love to play ball, but I get bored after running to catch the ball after a while and let mom go get it. This pair is not known to be escape pros, a secure 6ft yard would be adequate, it is unknown if they would jump a 4ft fence. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. A bored puppy can be a naughty puppy. As we are getting to know Toby He is a very high drive dog and will need a job or hobby like agility or Frisbee on the professional or hobby level . At 4 months old and with more then 15 other dogs around him he is already showing boredom and OCD traits.. which indicate this dog will possibly be a train wreck to deal with if he don't get something to channel his energy and drive.. if you are looking for a active side kick in your life he might just be the dog for you.. The adoption fee is $150.This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . Posted Breed: Hound / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Urgent Jazz needs a proper home so she doesn't have to spend her life in an outdoor pen. Please play the video with Audio she has a message for you.. She is a 5-6 yr old Hound terrier mix. NO CATS. She can get along with some male dogs it just depends on personalities & the experience of the dog owner. She would make a great only dog too! She could be a good dog for a family with older children probably at least double digits. She can knock you over when she's running very silly like she does, that's the reason for needing to be around older children. She is very very sweet likes to give & receive lots of love. She is potty trained once she knows what your schedule is & what is expected of her. She ADORES attention from her humans. Needs a family wanting a love snuggle bug. She is full grown & weighs about 60lbs. Apply at www.petangelsrescue.org/adoption-process/ Any additional medical needed would be at your expense through your vet. Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption fee is $100, est DOB is 12/17/14 and about 50-55 lbs This sweet girl left us as a puppy. She came back right at 1 year old.. Sadly the family didn't do her justice in raising her not my intention but simply by lack of knowledge I am sure they where a awesome loving family. and when behavioral problems arisen it seems they where ignored until they became a problem.. then she came back with the label of not good with kids. Now we have a dog that was never well socialized and terrified in new places and resource guards food. We are working on these things now.. but she will need more work once she is adopted out.. Once she settled in here she is friendly and out going but we will be taking her places to get her to adjust to new things that she finds very fearful. She is young enough and has the personality she should be able to fully over come these things. She is good with other dogs and due to the issues in the previous home she will need to not be around young kids that don't know to avid a dog while it's eating or chewing a bone etc.
