A home that has another dog for me to follow and learn from would be the bees knees. I’m working on potty training and haven’t quite mastered it, but will get there. Because I'm still a puppy, I need to be let out every frequently. I sleep in my kennel at night and am kenneled during the day. I already know how to sit, wait and will usually come running when you call me. Having a strong pack leader or someone who knows how to train an energetic puppy in the home would be great. That way, me and my growing body won't take over the joint! I am pure puppy, so I love to chew on things, play with toys, and play with everyone! I'm a happy boy. I’m working on walking on a leash and when I’m out in the yard I follow whoever is around. I’ve been introduced to a cat and of course, wanted to play with it. The cat told me they weren’t interested and that was enough for me! I would love to be with a family that has kids so I can play with them. I do need to be watched with the smaller kiddos, as sometimes I get so excited I jump up on them (any person really, but kids are smaller) and I even try to chew on them. Oops! I get so excited when I see the people I love that I even call out my love to the world! I have bowed legs which makes me special! The vet mentioned that I could grow out of this or possibly need continued care. My foster mom wants to make sure that my new family knows about this and that they will be diligent with vet checks, a treatment plan, and ensuring that I have the healthy happy life I deserve. What do you think? Can you be my new family? I promise you won't regret it! This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void. We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee. Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Please understand that all of our pets are in foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. Mack D170594...

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Eden Prairie, MN
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Name: Mack Age: DOB approx. 3/27/15 Gender: Male Breed: Lab Weight: 90 Dog friendly: one on one does best Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Yes, but could knock over little ones! House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Does fine left out Energy level: Moderate History: Pulled from an animal control Adoption Fee: $350.00 From the Foster: Mack is a beautiful two-year-old lab mix. He has adjusted to the new home environment well. With only a few accidents in the beginning, he picked up house training quickly and now knows outside is the only place to do his business. Mack is very mellow and enjoys sleeping throughout the day. His favorite part of the day is going for walks along the river. Mack does not pull on the leash, which in return makes walking with him enjoyable. However, he does like to switch sides in front of me causing me to trip over him if I’m not paying attention. He also likes to stop at every tree and pole to mark his sent. Mack is a very big boy of 90 lbs, and even though he has knocked me over once or twice out of excitement when I return home – he is still extremely sweet and gentle. He loves giving kisses and curling up next to me. Mack does seem to like to play with other dogs, but so far does best one on one, and he does need a little bit of 'get to know you' time before feeling comfortable enough to be friendly. Also, I have noticed that he does shy away from men. He seems more comfortable when dealing and interacting with women. Mack does much better left out of his kennel – he does not have house accidents, and has not chewed on anything or destroyed anything while I’m away. He just sleeps on the couch waiting for my return. I do allow him to go on my furniture and bed, but he usually will not go on either unless I give him the go-ahead. Mack is definitely not a trouble maker. He acts mature for his age, and even though he’s well behaved, he does still need work on training in general! Overall, Mack is just a gentle giant. He has a few issues but I believe every behavior can be helped and taught with time and patience. He is a very sweet and loving dog with a big heart awaiting his forever home.

I am a 6-year-old Labrador Retriever that weighs 52 lbs. I come from a rough and scary background that has shaped me into who I am today. I’m looking for a patient forever family that can continue to shape me into the confident and brave dog that I long to be. I am a very shy girl and am mostly scared of everything. Until finding my foster home, I had never experienced the things that most dogs experience even as a young puppy. I’m just starting to get used to being around people that are nice to me. I get very nervous when meeting new people and just want to run away because I’m not sure of how they will treat me. It turns out that most people tend to be very nice. I have a very nice foster family that is teaching me what it’s like to feel love from humans. I adore the man in my foster family and like to follow him around. I really enjoy to snuggle with him to take a nap. I haven’t snuggled with anyone else yet, but I think I’ll get brave enough to try it eventually. In my foster home, I sleep in the basement. I have slept in my crate a few times but am more comfortable on my couch where it’s quiet and safe downstairs. My foster family has tried to introduce me to toys, but I don’t care much for them. I am still trying to learn how to tell my family that I need to go outside to potty. I have had a few accidents in the house because I couldn’t find a way to tell them that I needed to go potty. Outside can be a scary place with all the sounds though. Loud noises make me jump, especially when I’m outside. In my forever home, I will need another dog to show me how to become the confident family dog that I so desire to be. With the right family that understands my needs and past, I know I will continue to be rehabilitated and have a new life to shape who I am for the better! Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ADOPTION EVENTS: Please understand that all of our pets are in foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Name: Dixon Age: DOB Approx. 6.8.16 Gender: Female Breed: Lab / Dobie Weight: 30 Dog friendly: Yes, should have another dog in the home Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes but older due to being a little nervous around commotion House trained: Yes on a schedule Crate trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate History: Pulled from an animal control Adoption Fee: $400.00 From the Foster: Dixon, or Dixie at home, is an amazing dog! She's still young but is very well mannered. House trained with some reminders and crate trained very well. Dixie loves other dogs and needs a home with another dog who will run with her and play with her! Dixie has lived with cats and is good with them but can be over interested in them. Kids are pretty scary unfortunately, while she has never been aggressive she is very scared of children and should go to a home where kids don't visit too frequently. A fenced in yard is a requirement, the taller the better but any physical fence will do. Dixie is a very sweet dog and will be your little shadow once she knows and trusts you. She can be quite fearful with new people and places. She gets comfortable in new settings in time but it does take her a little while to fully trust new things. Can you open your heart and home to a shy girl who needs TLC and love?

He could use some training, although he does know some basic commands like sit and shake. He gets along with dogs well, cats unknown. You wouldn't know that he has a disease, he doesn't let that slow him down. After doing a bit of research online Addison's disease is a pretty easy disease to control. He sleeps in his kennel, and is kenneled when we are away. He is house trained, we have had zero issues in the house. Rio does have Addison's but that doesn't slow him down at all! This is controlled with an injection done by the vet once a month! Hello! I recently arrived to SHH. They will update more as they get to know me!

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Name: Akoya Age: Approximate DOB 11/18/14 Gender: Female Breed: Labrador Retriever Weight: 60 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy level: Average History: Came to rescue pregnant and injured Adoption Fee: $300 From the Foster: Akoya is such a good family dog, she likes to be around the family at all times. She does not get on the furniture until prompted but when she does she likes to sit as close as possible almost always putting her head in your lap. For the most part she is a very calm, lazy dog but she does enjoy her playtime, chasing toys down the hall, and running around outside in the yard. Akoya is a very trainable dog- she knows sit, lay down, come. She is also very good at staying in her “safe” place until told she can come out. She is still a work in process with walking nicely on a leash, being Lab and Husky she would rather explore her surroundings then walk with no fun. Akoya likes to have her human as the Alpha, she needs structure and rules- almost seems like she enjoys it. She has no possession issues with food or toys. She can be protective of her family, but hopefully with training and socializing this could change. She currently lives with 3 girls under the age of 10 (9 years, 3 years and 9 months). They can pretty much do anything to her and if she doesn’t like it she just walks away. She knows the difference between her toys and human toys. She has never chewed on anything in the house that wasn’t given to her for that purpose. She has never had an accident in the house and is really good at telling you she needs to go potty. She was bell trained to let us know she needed out until it became a child hazard. We have noticed that she does not do well with crowds in the house. She just needs to be crated or put in a “safe” place for her to feel comfortable. She prefers a nice quite home. Overall; she is the best girl for the house, she loves her family, she trains easily and will capture your heart in no time.
