He won't miss a chance to run, chase balls, or chew on toys. Playing tug-of-war and keep away with the other dogs is one of his favorites! He is still a bit shy when he is unexpectedly touched, but does very well when offered a hand or when he decides he is ready to approach you. His foster family has gradually worked with him on his fears of people and dogs and he has become such a healthy, happy boy with an outgoing personality. He is excited to show you! Collin is hard at work on his dog skills. He is so close to being housebroken and knows "stay" and a command for outside. Leashes still make him nervous and he hasn't quite become comfortable with them. He has some resource guarding with food and does better eating by himself in his kennel with no problem. And this boy LOVES rubs and kind words. He is a sweet boy looking for a patient and loving home. If you can provide a gentle, kind approach with positive reinforcement , Collin would be the perfect start tot he next chapter in your life novel! This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void. We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee. Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Buddy is a sweet older soul. He was found alongside a highway and brought in to us. Sadly no one claimed him. He is estimated to be about 8 years old by our vet. Buddy walks and runs with a bit of a limp. His back right leg/hip have a bit of nerve damage from a previous injury, but he gets along just fine. Buddy has a very sweet personality and loves his leisure time in his kennel. He would make a wonderful companion or farm dog. Buddy has been neutered, tested negative for heartworm, dewormed and is up to date on all his shots. For more information on Buddy or to adopt him, please contact foster parents Steve and Debbie at 320-392-5649. Buddy's adoption fee is $125 plus tax ($133.59).

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. Hi! I'm Marley. I am one BIG bucket 'o love! I want nothing more than to stay by your side, gratefully accepting all the pats and belly rubs you have to give out while listening to all of your stories, silly jokes, and secrets. I'll walk with you whenever you want to walk and I'll ride with you whenever you want to take a drive. I'm also pretty doggone smart! I know sit, come, fetch, stay, quiet, and my favorite word, treat! As much as I will love you, I can't quite promise the same about other dogs and cats. I can get along OK with larger dogs after proper introductions, but I'm really better with 2-legged family members. Luckily for me, I'm big enough to fill the "animal space" in any home all by myself! If you are looking for a big lovebug like me please stop by and see me. I'm waiting to make you my forever best friend! Visit http://www.greatriverrescue.com/adoption-2/ to learn more about adopting me. Breed: Labrador Retriever

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Name: Abby Age: DOB Approx. 7/24/15 Gender: Female Breed: Lab / Heeler Weight: 45 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: TBD Kid friendly: Doesn't live with any, but would likely be fine House Trained: Very close! Crate Trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate History: Pulled from an animal control with 5 puppies Adoption Fee: $350.00 From the Foster: Abby is a sweet, smart girl with a great temperament. She has been a wonderfully attentive Mom to probably more than one litter and now she is hoping for a career change. She will need some help with house manners because it is seems to be all new to her. She is great in her crate and sleeps quietly all night and does not appear to have any objection to using it during the day for brief respites. She always keeps it clean and does not destroy bedding. She is very close to being housebroken and will go potty outside on a schedule. She is even starting to ask to go out but she isn't 100% consistent yet. She is OK with my resident dogs in neutral areas but would prefer that they are not in the same room with her puppies, can't fault a Momma for that. She is not a nuisance barker but will react to unfamiliar sounds so apartment living may not be best for her. She is a bit of a diamond in the rough but she is well worth the effort to help her shine.

Sarah is house broken which makes her real easy to care for and she is also crate trained goes in at night and whilst we are away from home! Not a peep from her! She likes a walk around the block needs some exercise as she is a little over weight. Sarah is good with other dogs but is independent just wants you as her best friend. She would suit a family that wants a bigger lab as she is quite tall and well built! She loves a bone to chew and typical lab will play fetch all day with a tennis ball which she retrieves and throws back at you to play again! Sarah is a very special girl and has a lovely coat and pretty head and kind eyes. Takes treats gently from you. She will make for a great family dog and companion.

    Breed: Labrador Retriever

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Date of birth (estimated): 6/14/14 Good with Dogs: Yes- but prefers one on one attention and to be alpha dog Good with Cats: unknown House Trained: yes Adoption Fee: $300 Hi, my name is Boo and I’m a very friendly, loving, happy black lab (British Lab to be exact) that would love a permanent family of my very own. Ideally I would love to be the only dog, be able to be very active with my family and have lots of attention. My foster mom said I’m happy all the time, so much in fact that she has not ever seen my tail stop wagging. Then again how could I not be happy when I get to do some of my favorite things like running along the side with humans while they bike, play and splash in a pool during hot summer afternoons and just plain hang with humans while they enjoy campfires in the backyard. It has been amazing discovering all these fun things since Furever Home Rescue saved me from a sad background. I love people so much that I always want to be right next to them and keep my eye on them. I also am eager to please and love it when we get to practice, sit, stay, down and play fetch. I am typically the alpha dog, but get along with submissive, playful other resident dogs. My foster mom also said she can see me being a star and doing diving and/or agility if someone works with me, as I’m very smart and good with voice commands. I was a hit at Petapalooza! PLEASE NOTE: Boo requires a family that can give her tons of exercise, a fenced in backyard and lots of one on one attention. If you are interested in meeting or adopting this animal, please read the following before submitting an adoption application on our website. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, 4Dx test (covers tick-borne diseases ( A naplasmosis , Lymes, E hrlichiosis) as well as heart worm) & de-worming. We ask that our dogs live indoors unless otherwise stated & agreed upon. We are a smaller group that typically takes on harder cases that require special homes so we ask that applicants live in our area - if you do not live in the MN or surrounding states, please contact us via email before submitting an application to determine whether the animal you are interested in is a case we are comfortable adopting out to a family out of our area.

I am a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever that weighs 52 lbs. I come from a rough and scary background that has shaped me into who I am today. I’m looking for a patient forever family that can continue to shape me into the confident and brave dog that I long to be. I am a very shy girl and am mostly scared of everything. Until finding my foster home, I had never experienced the things that most dogs experience even as a young puppy. I’m just starting to get used to being around people that are nice to me. I get very nervous when meeting new people and just want to run away because I’m not sure of how they will treat me. It turns out that most people tend to be very nice. I have a very nice foster family that is teaching me what it’s like to feel love from humans. I adore the man in my foster family and like to follow him around. I really enjoy to snuggle with him to take a nap. I haven’t snuggled with anyone else yet, but I think I’ll get brave enough to try it eventually. In my foster home, I sleep in the basement. I have slept in my crate a few times but am more comfortable on my couch where it’s quiet and safe downstairs. My foster family has tried to introduce me to toys, but I don’t care much for them. I am still trying to learn how to tell my family that I need to go outside to potty. I have had a few accidents in the house because I couldn’t find a way to tell them that I needed to go potty. Outside can be a scary place with all the sounds though. Loud noises make me jump, especially when I’m outside. In my forever home, I will need another dog to show me how to become the confident family dog that I so desire to be. With the right family that understands my needs and past, I know I will continue to be rehabilitated and have a new life to shape who I am for the better! Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. He is a pleasure to have around and loves to stay close by. Buddy is a little on the thin side so we continue to look for things he enjoys eating. Buddy won't turn down a good beef bone.
