    Reba

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Reba is a sweet little girl looking for her forever home. She loves to be with a human companion, in fact, she can be somewhat of a Velcro dog. We don’t know the complete story but she did have a hard beginning. She was seized in a cruelty case and ended up with the Philadelphia SPCA. Brookline rescued her and placed her in a loving foster home. She had a large tumor in her left armpit. The 6 ½ pound tumor was surgically removed this past fall and thankfully the biopsy report was good news! It was a benign fatty tumor. Now she can run and play with her three dog brothers. She makes friends easily and gets along well with other dogs. Reba loves to snuggle on the couch or curl up in a comfy chair. She enjoys walks and likes to ride in the car. She is calm, a non-barker, smart and a quick learner. Reba is a 5 year-old, spayed female, medium-sized (60 lbs) shiny black Labrador with a medium coat. Buddy

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Buddy is a handsome male yellow lab/boxer mix, with really big soulful brown eyes that you could just fall into. He is neutered, approximately 11 years old, weighs 75 pounds, and is in excellent health. He is housetrained and has had free run of our house when we were home and when we have been away. He is presently living with 2 other labs, and a cat. He never even notices the cat. He likes everybody, and everybody likes him! Buddy sleeps on a dog bed in our bedroom at night. He is very gentle, and takes a treat from your hand easily. Buddy loves to be wherever we are, inside or out. He is calm, loving, and a real sweetheart! When outside he likes to lay in the sun. He loves to have his belly rubbed and neck scratched. He is a lab, so he loves all the attention he can get! Buddy is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He has arthritis in his hind legs, so he leans on his hip when he sits. He usually lays down if he is not standing. We have been giving him Rimadyl for the arthritis, which allows him to keep up with his brothers. Buddy likes to run out in the fenced in back yard, then come in and just be with his people. He’ll hop right up and follow you whenever you leave the room, and really wants to be with his alpha. He does pull at bit on the leash, and needs a little work in that area. He likes his fur brothers, but I do not know if he has to have them around all the time. While eager to leave the house and hop into the car, he doesn’t care for riding in the car and will whine and pace in the back seat the entire trip. Buddy would make an ideal companion for an older person, but he will be happy wherever he is with love and attention. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Forever Family needed Xena is a 5 1/2 year old lab beauty! She and her sister do not get along. Her family loves her beyond words and have tried everything to allow the dogs a chance at living together in harmony. They have tried trainers, behaviorists etc. The time has come to make the painful decision. Xena is looking for an active family. She is used to be being spoiled, going on car rides, going to camp and getting exercised in their fenced in yard. She is looking for a family that has no dogs or cats. She is good with children and when in the home, is just happy to be by your side. She loves to cuddle with her people. She is high energy... she can run like crazy, but only needs a bit of playing to keep her happy. Mostly she just wants to be with her people. She is extremely intelligent and has some training. Manny

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Meet Manny! Manny is a 10+ year young , 85 lb neutered male yellow lab who is always up for a good time. He is a happy go-lucky guy who just wants to be by your side or at your feet doing whatever it is you're doing. He is happy to go for a walk, have a fetch in the park or yard and he LOVES car rides! He like to put his head out the window and let his ears and lips blow in the wind. Manny does not have a mean bone in his body and is happy to greet anyone including other dogs and cats. He is simply happy to be. And while he loves other dogs and gets along with anyone perfectly, his favorite place to be is with his people. A constant fixture in the hustle and bustle of the family room and kitchen, Manny makes himself at home in the middle of it all, typical lab style. He likes to lay in the kitchen while we're cooking and at the kids' feet under the kitchen table when they're doing homework. He follows us from room to room and will curl himself into the smallest ball in the tightest spaces just so he can stay by you. He is a Velcro lab for sure. Manny is very agile for his age, probably given his lean build. He can jump into the car easily and slides out with help mostly because jumping would be jarring on his joints and we don't want him getting hurt. He is able to climb stairs with ease. A recent removal of some lumps on his side and under his forearms also ensures that he will move with ease and not be limited because of fatty masses (all of which were benign). His dental cleaning revealed beautiful, healthy (all things considered) teeth and his breath improved tremendously! He can bite kibble and eat crunchy treats but he is hesitant maybe due to sensitivity so I always add warm water and let the kibble absorb it. He has a hearty appetite and loves breakfast and dinner time but he would happily share his meal with his buddies rather than keep it all for himself. If a pushy friend comes by for a taste, Manny moves out of the way and happily gives up his bowl so a hungry pal must be watched or Manny will go without. He loves earning treats and is a super fan of Frosty Paws. Manny is currently taking fish oil and osteo-biflex daily to keep him spry. He enjoys daily walks on a leash and happily goes along with the pace you set or with the pace another dog with a stronger personality sets. Manny serves as a balanced tone setter for dogs that can be distracted by other dogs. He displays ambivalence and confidence and diffuses any tension. He is a great help. His hearing is good and that more than makes up for his eyesight which at times seems a little blurry. He seems to see well close up but relies on his hearing to catch up to his people if out for a walk in the yard and he gets separated. When he hears his name being called, he gallops to his people and exhibits such pure joy, it's as though he's been separated for hours rather than minutes! Some floors can seem blurry like shiny wood or marble. He hesitates on them but holds his legs steady and continues on the uncertain ground and moves along with gentle coaxing. The best home for Manny is a busy one or at least one where he will get to be with his people a lot. He would not do well as a single dog in a quiet home where his people are gone all day. Dogs, cats, kids, activities all make Manny super happy. He seems to be making up for lost time and will doing anything to please you. He loves love and belly rubs and ear scratches and big fluffy orthopedic beds. He wants to be in the middle of it all and will soundly sleep and relax right at your side. He loves fetching and is improving every day so tennis balls are a must. He doesn't chew or get on furniture or jump up or counter surf. He's a true blue loyal forever friend who deserves only the best. He's perfect. Ryback

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Pointer (short coat). For Adoption: Ryback is a loving 2 year old who will happily give you kisses. His owner has too many dogs and reached out to the rescue for help. Ryback was adopted into a home for a couple of weeks by a young couple. He became very protective and possessive of the woman of the house. The man of the house was his friend as long as the women was not around. Both owners being inexperienced with dog behavior unintentionally reinforced this bad behavior. They decided that they did not want to work with a trainer. Ryback needs an experienced dog person, an adopter who will be able to communicate to Ryback, that as much as it's appreciated that he loves his person, that everyone else is not a threat. At the adoption center, he absolutely loves everyone and greets new people with a smile and a wag. He is a quiet, calm dog that also loves to swim. He would do better in a home with another dog preferably a dominant female that can reassure him of his rank in the pack. He plays with Ivy in the exercise yard, and her loving, outgoing personality really helps him. When he got here he knew nothing of a leash, but has since become a champ leash walker. He is currently seeking that special someone. If you are interested in adopting please submit your APPLICATION TO ADOPT Online at http://www.jotform.us/ddpets/adoptddpets If you have questions please email store@ddpets.com or call 610-970-7500

    Sandy

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Sandy is an 11-year-old female yellow lab. Her coat is long and fluffy, from nose to tail! Sandy weighs just over 80lbs. She has cataracts which make her more or less totally blind, and a large fatty lump on her right front leg. Both have been checked by the vet and do not require any treatment. Neither of these things bother her, and she just goes about her business and takes life in her stride. When she bumps into a wall, she just redirects herself and tries again. If she keeps bumping into them, for example if she is in a bit of an enclosed corner, she just settles down and sleeps! One obvious change in Sandy's behavior due to her blindness is her nervousness around other dogs. Sandy always gets very excited when she smells another dog, but when they actually get really close she doesn't like them near her face, so she is best as an only dog. Also she does not cope with flights of stairs - she can handle one or two, but not lots in a row. Cats do not seem to trouble her at all. Sandy loves to go out and walk around. She especially likes open fields and spaces where she will not keep running into things. She does not enjoy automotive travel, but will get in and out of the van under her own steam, and puts up with the travel when she has to. In the house Sandy is the perfect resident. She never scrounges food, counter surfs, gets up on furniture or makes a mess. She regularly goes 11 hours overnight without needing to go outside. She will sleep anywhere, although she avoids doggie beds and opts for a rug or blanket - something nice and stable. She seeks out human company, but is also perfectly calm and comfortable when left alone. Sandy's list of favorite things would include visitors, belly rubs, walks, peanut butter, and sleeping. She does well with all people, and there are some people that she is especially pleased to meet. She is very peaceful, resilient, and calm, and would be happiest with a family that are not rushing about too much, enjoy gentle walking but are not avid hikers, and can spend some time each day petting her! For the right family Sandy will be a true delight, being a model of contentment and serenity. Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. Please contact Jamie (ccjamieballa@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Moses is a 4.5 year old pup that has a ton of energy! He loves to play with his humans. Moses is housebroken and crate trained. Moses knows what 'no' means and does not want to dissapoint. Moses would love a fenced in yard because he still has a lot of puppy energy in him. Moses does not do well with other dogs or cats. He will need to find a home that consistently works with him in training. He needs to stay busy. He is a very smart boy that likes to keep his brain active, so training is great for him! We also wouldn't recommend very young kids as he is very strong and might knock them over when playing. Moses is such a sweetheart, just reactive towards other dogs. He would make a great companion for the right person! Moese is in foster care so please complete an application before meeting him. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter. *Moses has an adoption special right now. His adoption fee is only $150. If you feel you are the right home for Duke please fill out an app!
