    Delilah

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Media, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. "Hi! I'm Delilah! I'm a single tan female who would love to find a partner who will take long walks with me (maybe on the beach or through a beautiful wooded trail - hey - I'm a romantic! Around the neighborhood would be great, too!) I'd love to find a forever guy or gal (or couple, or family) who will help exercise my body and mind. I'm a very playful girl but I will actually walk pretty well on leash (I *might* get excited and jumpy but it's because I'm so HAPPY!). I love affection even though I may act unsure. Please just take it slowly with me and you'll have me wrapped around your finger. I'm okay with other dogs "in passing only" but would rather not live with any other pets. Kids 10 and older would be my preference so they can help with my training and socialization. Since I was found abandoned by the humane officer, all of this "being a loved dog" stuff is new to be and I'm loving it, but am trying to get used to it all at the same time. I am up to date on my vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. I weigh about 58 pounds. Are you looking for an active partner like me to love? Look no further - come and visit me today! Love, Delilah" *Please visit our Adoption Center with scenic & serene grounds, a large selection of animals for all types of homes, expert match-making staff, and thorough behavior evaluations. Every adoption includes the pet's spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and necessary vaccinations. We'd love to match you with your new best friend forever!* Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email adoptions@providenceac.org. Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets, www.providenceac.org/donate. Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts. Not ready to adopt yet? You can still guarantee the safety and well-being of any of our dogs or puppies by temporarily fostering one or more right in your own home. Visit our foster page to learn about the program. Then, email your application along with any questions to foster@providenceac.org for immediate review. Max SG

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Max is ready to find his forever home. This boy is a very handsome Chocolate Lab. He is currently living with his foster family the consists of his Foster Dad, Mo and Hope, a Brookline rescue, that has taught his some great habits but he is ready to learn more with the help of his forever home. Max is a 7 year old neutered male. He loves to cuddle, belly rubs, and play outside. Max will follow you around the house and likes to stay near. He had a tough life before coming to Brookline, but has really blossomed into a great dog. Max just wants to please. He also loves food, which makes him very easy to train. Max does know sit and stay and does take treats gently. He comes when called, even if he is chasing a squirrel or try to meet a neighbors dog. He has learned to sit and wait for his food until told to eat, but still gobbles it down like he will never eat again. He will need someone to work on leash walking, counter surfing, and have a yard to give him some exercise. He is fine on the leash, but is very excited at first and very curious as to what is going on around him. Zig zags around looking and smelling around. Max has not lived with any cats, so not really sure how that would go. He has been around children, including a 15 month old with no problems, so a home with children would be a plus for him since he loves to run around in the yard and play. rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). I AM GROOT! I am a purebred yellow Lab. I am male. I am neutered and up to date on all my shots. I am 4 years old. I am healthy and active. I am a big boy weighing in at about 80 pounds. I am very active, playful, friendly to family, friendly to visitors, and affectionate. I bark when people come to the house and I need to get a good sniff to check them out. After that, I’m very friendly. I AM GROOT! I am very handsome. I am food motivated and eager-to-please. I am not picky when it comes to food – I’ll eat anything! I am housebroken. I am reliable uncrated except that I sometimes counter surf. I am great with other dogs and love to play! There are three other dogs in my foster home and we have a great time together. My best buddy is a 9 month old pup who runs and wrestles with me. I am good with cats according to my previous family. They said I love cats! I haven’t seen any cats in my foster home. I am probably not the right dog for a family with young children because I jump and might accidentally hurt them. My last family took me to the shelter because I growled at a special needs foster child who had just joined the family. They gave me less than 24 hours to get used to the new little human. I might have been nervous. When I went to the vet with my foster moms, I growled at the vet tech when he held me tight so the doctor could draw blood. But after that I was fine with him and the doctor. I AM GROOT! I am well-behaved…most of the time. I sit when foster mom is dishing out meals. I “wait” and don’t start eating until she says okay. I “give paw”. I have a few bad habits. Sometimes I jump on people or bolt out the door or counter-surf. But I most of the time I’m well-behaved! I am certain I could learn other “good boy” things if you help me! I’m smart and I like to make my people happy. I am good in the car, but I will try to climb up front so my foster moms use a doggie seat belt to keep me in the back seat. I am very strong and I pull hard on a leash. I am eager to learn leash skills so I can go on more walks. I am a jumper. I get really excited and jump on my foster moms when they come home. I sometimes jump over the baby gates in the house. But I have never jumped over the 4 foot fence around the yard. I AM GROOT! I am hopeful that my next home will be my FOREVER home. I’ve already had at least two families that I thought were my forever families, but they weren’t. I want my next family to be FOR KEEPS. I am anxious to meet you! Please contact the folks at Brookline if you think I’m the dog for you. I AM GROOT! Check out my blog for more pictures and info! He is living with a family that knows he needs more time than they can give and so they are looking for another family for him. Diogee is 15 months old and 95 strong lbs. He loves to jump and needs someone Lab savvy to work with him on that. Moose #2

    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Hi, It’s me, Moose, looking for my special “Fur Ever” home! Here are some fun facts about Moose: Did you know that Moose can generally be found all across the northern forest of North America, Europe and Russia? Did you know that the Moose is the largest extant species in the deer family? I didn’t know that until just now!! Now think about this, who wouldn’t want their very own Moose!! So, look no further guys, it’s me, “Moose” named appropriately…just look at my color and my size. Here’s a little about my story, it’s pretty simple, I was rescued from a shelter after my owner surrendered me due to his very long work hours. Now let me share a few things about me that my foster family and I want you to know! Now pay attention, these are pretty special things: I am 5 years old. I weight 110 lbs. Don’t let that scare you, we moose are big, but this here Moose loves to cuddle with my humans!! I am a very sweet and might I add a very handsome guy. I love being outdoors doing all kinds of activities with my family, hiking & exploring are on the top of my list. I have 2 very easy going fur sisters that I get along great with! These are all the wonderful things about me!! Now let’s talk about the few things I need to work on. The only thing my foster mom thinks I need touch work on is my alert barking. Ok I admit it, I do bark when company comes, but hey I want to keep my pack safe, that’s my job right, remember I am the “Moose”. I am sure my foster mom can give you pointers to help me! She also says I need to relax a little more when meeting new people too, but I guess the alert barking and the nervousness go hand in hand. I am working hard on both issues, I promise!! My foster mom feels I would do best in a family without young children, due to my size. I really am a people dog, I promise I would love you to death with cuddles and kisses! Ok moose can be mushy too! So think about it, you could be the first person in your neighborhood with your very own MOOSE! Please consider me!! Blaze

    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Wise beyond his years is the best way to describe this sweet old gentleman! 10 year old Blaze has always lived with a menagerie of animals, and has gotten along well with them all. But his favorite critters are the human variety. He is such a smart fella that he soon learned to use his cuteness to get what all Labs want – FOOD! Unfortunately, he got to be a very BIG fella and developed diabetes, which ultimately led to blindness. But that hasn’t stopped Blaze. He continues to blaze his way wherever he wants to go and especially into human hearts. This big hunk of love has now lost 40 pounds and is not only handsome, but has much more of a spring in his step. He loves, loves, loves to go for leisurely strolls where he will be happy to “smell the roses” all day long. However, he is equally as happy curling up by your side and getting lots of belly rubs. Blaze is an easygoing, resilient, smart and very cool Dude (as his foster Mom likes to describe him). He would probably do best in a calmer home and due to his blindness, would probably not be a good fit for young children. Blaze is looking for a wonderful place to rest his head during these Golden years. Could that be your place? Breed: Labrador Retriever

    Age: Senior
    Location: Feasterville, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Hi my name is Clark. I am 10 years young. I was rescued from a shelter by Jax’s and I have been in my awesome foster home for about 2 and a half months. I had some pretty bad skin issues when I first arrived but foster mom and dad have been giving me treatments and I almost all healed up. I also had some skin tags on my one paw that have been removed and the Dr. said it was all good news and I am all healed now. I am a black lab but have some chocolate in me too. There are parts of my fur that are a nice silky chocolate brown color. Even though I am 10 years old (and that is an estimate because I was a stray) I have plenty of energy for walks and play time in the yard. I love my foster siblings, there are two one chocolate lab and one yellow lab and I get along great with both of them and will initiate play with them. I still have a lot of love to give. I will need to be on joint medication for the rest of my life and would prefer some good walks to keep me strong. I am great on the leash and even off leash I will stay close to your side unless I see a deer or rabbit etc. I do have prey drive like any lab. I have never been crated in my foster, but I am sure I could be if needed but I would prefer to either be gated in a room or free roam. I am great with free roam. I am also housebroken. I have not had exposure to young kids or cats so that is unknown and probably best to not have cats since I am a lab with a pretty good prey drive. I am a loyal and loving companion that just wants someone to love me and keep me young at heart. Foster mom says I love to just rub up against her or anyone for that matter and have them scratch and pet me. My favorite spot to be is right by your side. If you are looking for the most loyal and loving lab, then I am your guy. Love Clark (aka love bug) If you would like more info on this lab and our adoption process, please contact lisas@jaxslabrescue.org You can also visit our website at http://www.jaxslabrescue.org/ for additional information about our process and our coverage areas.
