    HOLLY BERRY

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Center Township, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Hello! I am new to the shelter! Please keep checking my profile for updates as the staff gets to know me better! I am currently in a foster home. Please e-mail adoptions@beavercountyhumanesociety.org to read about my stay in my foster home and whether your home would be a good fit. You must have an approved pre-adopt application prior to scheduling an appointment to meet me. Few can resist a puppy. These adorable, soft bundles of energy are similar to four-legged children with tails. And like children, puppies need a lot of time, care, love, and patience. A puppy will depend on you for frequent and regular feedings and walks, for guidance and training, and for much of your time and your love. Before you plunge into puppy parenthood, make sure to research! There are many rewards to caring for a puppy, but there are also many requirements. Puppy classes are highly recommended for socialization and a positive transition into your home. Puppies love to learn how to be the best dog for your family! The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - AVID microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering Adoption fee: $150.00 Per state law, Beaver County Residents must purchase a non-refundable 2017 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $7.00. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$5.00)

    Moose #2

    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Hi, It’s me, Moose, looking for my special “Fur Ever” home! Here are some fun facts about Moose: Did you know that Moose can generally be found all across the northern forest of North America, Europe and Russia? Did you know that the Moose is the largest extant species in the deer family? I didn’t know that until just now!! Now think about this, who wouldn’t want their very own Moose!! So, look no further guys, it’s me, “Moose” named appropriately…just look at my color and my size. Here’s a little about my story, it’s pretty simple, I was rescued from a shelter after my owner surrendered me due to his very long work hours. Now let me share a few things about me that my foster family and I want you to know! Now pay attention, these are pretty special things: I am 5 years old. I weight 110 lbs. Don’t let that scare you, we moose are big, but this here Moose loves to cuddle with my humans!! I am a very sweet and might I add a very handsome guy. I love being outdoors doing all kinds of activities with my family, hiking & exploring are on the top of my list. I have 2 very easy going fur sisters that I get along great with! These are all the wonderful things about me!! Now let’s talk about the few things I need to work on. The only thing my foster mom thinks I need touch work on is my alert barking. Ok I admit it, I do bark when company comes, but hey I want to keep my pack safe, that’s my job right, remember I am the “Moose”. I am sure my foster mom can give you pointers to help me! She also says I need to relax a little more when meeting new people too, but I guess the alert barking and the nervousness go hand in hand. I am working hard on both issues, I promise!! My foster mom feels I would do best in a family without young children, due to my size. I really am a people dog, I promise I would love you to death with cuddles and kisses! Ok moose can be mushy too! So think about it, you could be the first person in your neighborhood with your very own MOOSE! Please consider me!! Breed: Labrador Retriever

    Location: Point Pleasant, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). I'm BUDDY! I'm a 6 or 7-year-old, 54 lb. yellow lab mix who's had a rough go of it. In spite of all my troubles, I believe in the goodness of humans and my fellow canines and want to love everyone. When I was rescued, I had an embedded collar, had been attacked by multiple dogs, and starved by my humans. Did I let that get me down? No sir! I think there are kind people and dogs out there who will love me and I'll love them back, unconditionally. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I love every human I meet, every dog, every little kid, and I'm crazy over cats (but a little too much). I looooove attention, treats and to lay out to get my rays ever day. I'm housebroken and crate trained. I'm laid back, calm, quiet and basically a couch potato. I've been known to figure out how to roll down the car window so I can hang my head out. (So I'm smart, too.) I'm pretty much perfect in spite of my misfortunes. If you're looking for a pre-made perfect companion, I'm it. And I know there is someone out there who will love me the way all Labbies are meant to be loved. I'm BUDDY. Please come love me. BUDDY is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on core vaccines. Adoption fee is $325. Please note that training is highly recommended for all young dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. Visit WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG and click on the ADOPT tab for an overview of Lulu's Rescue adoption process. Thanks for adopting and saving a life -- you are BUDDY's hero!

    Breed: Labrador Retriever

    Age: Adult
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Hi I'm five-year-old Trigger, the prettiest girl you'd ever want to meet. My foster mom says I am an English lab but I don't know what she's talking about. My bark sounds the same as my fur sisters. I came from a farm where the family raises lots of puppies but I couldn't have any so they signed me over to Brookline. Hooray! I am a happy easy-going girl who wants nothing more than to stay close to my people. My second favorite thing is to take walks and explore. You see I had free run of my farm before so I'm used to this sort of lifestyle. I've lived with young kids and I adored them but right now I am living with a teenager and three other labs. It was an adjustment at first but I'm doing great. Still I really wouldn't mind being an only dog and the center of your attention either. I don't know many commands yet because I never had to follow any before but foster mom says I am so obedient she thinks I will be a quick learner. We've been playing ball and I think that's a lot of fun too. I overheard my foster mom say she doesn't think I've ever played with one before based on my spastic attempts to catch the ball but instinctively I keep bringing the ball back to my foster mom. I'm a smart girl. A few more sessions and I think I'll be a pro. My foster mom also thinks I have an unhealthy obsession with cats. There is one in this house who completely ignores me and I would sit watching her for hours if my foster mom would let me, so I'm not sure that I should be living with the cat. Foster mom thinks I probably got to chase them on the farm I lived on, but I'm not telling. I am just finishing up being in heat. I don't know what that means either except I have to wear these silly doggie diapers when I'm inside and mom has nicknamed me fancy pants. She says I will soon be made available for adoption and so my forever family is going to have to agree to get me spayed. I'm not sure I like the sounds of that but I do love the idea of finding my forever family. Might that be you? Check out Trigger's blog at http://brooklinelabrescue.org/blog/?page_id=12365. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). If you’re looking for a ball chasing, tail wagging bundle of energy, then I’m your girl! I am a 10 month old youngster with a zest for life! Everyone says I am quite a “looker”, especially with my yellow eyes, and Dad describes me as quite an athlete - which I think is a compliment. I know one thing - I love being with my people – large or small. If you promise to let me run and play ball lots during the day, I promise to snuggle up with you at night. I am very smart and very food motivated (what Lab isn’t?), so very trainable. I do need to learn a few manners – like not jumping up on people – but who can blame me? I just want to be sure you SEE me! I’m a bit unsure around other dogs. I have only met them at the dog park, but I am far more focused on playing ball than socializing with them, so I pretty much ignore them. I’m not sure how I would feel about living with another dog. I am reliably trained on an invisible fence – see how smart I am? However, I’m not much for leash walking, so you’ll need to work with me on that. I am also crate trained, which is probably a good thing, as I might be tempted to help myself to a few things around the house while you are gone. I am a bit grabby with treats and between that and my jumping, I would probably not be good with young kids. I would probably knock them over on my way to retrieve my ball! If you promise you’ll give me lots of exercise every day and teach me a few basic manners, then I promise to reward you by letting you rub my belly at night! Let me know if you have room in your home and your heart for me. . . Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). Wise beyond his years is the best way to describe this sweet old gentleman! 10 year old Blaze has always lived with a menagerie of animals, and has gotten along well with them all. But his favorite critters are the human variety. He is such a smart fella that he soon learned to use his cuteness to get what all Labs want – FOOD! Unfortunately, he got to be a very BIG fella and developed diabetes, which ultimately led to blindness. But that hasn’t stopped Blaze. He continues to blaze his way wherever he wants to go and especially into human hearts. This big hunk of love has now lost 40 pounds and is not only handsome, but has much more of a spring in his step. He loves, loves, loves to go for leisurely strolls where he will be happy to “smell the roses” all day long. However, he is equally as happy curling up by your side and getting lots of belly rubs. Blaze is an easygoing, resilient, smart and very cool Dude (as his foster Mom likes to describe him). He would probably do best in a calmer home and due to his blindness, would probably not be a good fit for young children. Blaze is looking for a wonderful place to rest his head during these Golden years. Could that be your place? Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Warrington, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Layla is a one year old, approximately 80lb female spayed black lab. She has recently started her training and is making wonderful progress, but will need a family committed to continued training. Layla loves to play fetch and would play all day if you let her. She also loves to play tug. Sometimes it’s with an appropriate toy, like a tug rope; sometimes it’s with an inappropriate tug toy, like her leash! She is learning and making progress, but when overstimulated, she will revert back to her “challenging” behaviors like jumping, mouthing and barking. Layla is currently residing with a foster fur-sister, but she did not have a lot of exposure to other dogs prior to coming into foster care. She has learned how to play and romp and wrestle with another submissive dog. She has learned so much! Layla is still easily excited and would do best in a calm home. She is a champion cuddler and when Layla is ready to relax, she will snuggle on the couch with her people. Layla is looking for a calm, structured home with lots of love, exercise and training for her fur-ever home. Could that be your home?! If you have any questions about Layla, please contact autumndynell@gmail.com. Please copy and paste this link to read more about Layla on her blog: http://brooklinelabrescue.org/blog/?page_id=12302. Breed: Labrador Retriever

    Age: Senior
    Location: Feasterville, PA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Hi my name is Clark. I am 10 years young. I was rescued from a shelter by Jax’s and I have been in my awesome foster home for about 2 and a half months. I had some pretty bad skin issues when I first arrived but foster mom and dad have been giving me treatments and I almost all healed up. I also had some skin tags on my one paw that have been removed and the Dr. said it was all good news and I am all healed now. I am a black lab but have some chocolate in me too. There are parts of my fur that are a nice silky chocolate brown color. Even though I am 10 years old (and that is an estimate because I was a stray) I have plenty of energy for walks and play time in the yard. I love my foster siblings, there are two one chocolate lab and one yellow lab and I get along great with both of them and will initiate play with them. I still have a lot of love to give. I will need to be on joint medication for the rest of my life and would prefer some good walks to keep me strong. I am great on the leash and even off leash I will stay close to your side unless I see a deer or rabbit etc. I do have prey drive like any lab. I have never been crated in my foster, but I am sure I could be if needed but I would prefer to either be gated in a room or free roam. I am great with free roam. I am also housebroken. I have not had exposure to young kids or cats so that is unknown and probably best to not have cats since I am a lab with a pretty good prey drive. I am a loyal and loving companion that just wants someone to love me and keep me young at heart. Foster mom says I love to just rub up against her or anyone for that matter and have them scratch and pet me. My favorite spot to be is right by your side. If you are looking for the most loyal and loving lab, then I am your guy. Love Clark (aka love bug) If you would like more info on this lab and our adoption process, please contact lisas@jaxslabrescue.org You can also visit our website at http://www.jaxslabrescue.org/ for additional information about our process and our coverage areas.
