He is the happiest pup alive, and his tail never stops wagging! He loves walking and riding in the car.. Marrow bones and bully sticks are his favorite treats. He gets along great with other doggies and loves playing in the backyard. He is a good listener and follows the pack for cues and training. Potty training is in process and crating is helping him hold it and get on schedule. He sits or lays quietly in crate when needed. Archie loves doggie friends, but can be an only dog. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please email us to confirm attendance. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Breed: Mountain Cur
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Franklin, TN
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur. This lovely brindle and white beauty is so sweet and gentle! Tutti is seven years old and is absolutely adorable! Her personality is so mellow, calm and good natured! Tutti is so well-mannered on her daily walks and trots happily at your side. She is housebroken, too. Tutti also enjoys her outings in the play yard. She is very obedient and will sit on command. Our volunteers enjoy taking her to the lovely gazebo on the shelter grounds, and she enjoys sitting on the bench to enjoy their company and being petted. Tutti would do best in a feline-free home without small children. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is required to ensure compatibility. E-mail wcacangels@yahoo.com for more information or stop by Williamson County Animal Center for a meet and greet with Tutti. E-mail wcacangels@yahoo.com for more information!

    Blaze

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Mountain Cur
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Landenberg, PA
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur (short coat). BLAZE is a 3-5 yr old Mountain Cur who was adopted from the south originally. She has a slight build, similar to a Vizsla. Mountain Curs are used for hunting small game. They can be bullheaded according to our Google search, and need a 'strong' owner. Blaze has been the model citizen for us so far but what landed her in yhe rescue was her overzealous protection of her food bowl. Her 'breeder' apparently threw food out on the ground for all the pups to scramble for so she learned the bad habit early on. Other than that she gets along well with other dogs – just needs to be fed separately. Blaze works wonderfully on a leash & is quite athletic - she would make a great jogging partner! She seems to be intrigued by water (as of this writing it's still a bit chilly to go swimming but I'll bet she is game). If you are interested in adding Blaze to your familyplease fill out an application at www.companimals.org. Blaze has been spayed, vaccinated and started on heartworm and flea and tick prevention Adoption $165

    Janey

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Mountain Cur
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Westminster, MD
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur / Harrier (short coat). All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. Sweet Janey, her fate was sealed when she wanted to be loved instead of chasing down game. Born and bred to be a hunting dog, she was never even given a name, just a number, painted on her side. When she wouldn't hunt, she was abandoned to starve or freeze to death, whichever came first. Happily for her, she has made it into rescue and is now getting what her heart hoped for...a safe place and people with gentle hands. Her foster says of her: "Janey is a sweet quiet girl. She can be a little shy but when she gets to know you she just wants your attention. She is very submissive and sweet, kennels up instantly, and walks pretty good on the lead. She is very thin. She was a hunting dog, and has a number dyed into her fur. The vet feels this will go away with time." If you have a soft spot for hounds, Janey is surely a good one. Such a deal...you will have her whole heart simply by putting food in her bowl and petting her. She will love you for it her whole life. If you are interested in Janey, please contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***

    Breed: Mountain Cur
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: San Francisco, CA
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur (short coat). Please contact Vicky (contact@ahan.org) for more information about this pet. Shepherd terrier mix Maeve: 6 months, Spayed female, 22Lbs. Meet with Maeve! Maeve is a super sweet and friendly pup! She loves people and children. She gets along well with dogs as well as cats. Maeve is a very playful, energetic and cuddly! She loves playing with her siblings and other dogs in the foster family. She enjoys people’s company and is very friendly to all ages of people and dogs. She is very curious and likes to sniff around, she is full of puppy energy! She loves to cuddle very much and she is a passionate kisser. Maeve was rescued along with her other 5 siblings in the rural mountain area. Mother dog hid them on a dangerous hill, and there was a road above and a ditch under their hidden site. What’s even worse, several big dogs attacked them when the mother dog was out for food. Luckily enough we found them and took them to the vet in time and had them examined. They were found to suffer from mal nutrition and some injuries. Therefore, we arranged them to stay with foster families for better care and medical treatment. As her wounds are healing fast, most of the missing fur is gradually growing back, it simply needs some time. However, some very tiny imprints from the previous severe injuries may permanantly mark her as a strong and brave survivor. Now not only her coat is shinier, skin problems are much improved, but she is also so much healthier and full of life! Maeve is ready for a forever home! She can be a good morining alarm clock that wakes you up with her kisses! She is so loveable that she will easily grow on you. Would you offer her a forever home?
