Posted Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Pug / Mixed (short coat). Willy Min-Pin/Pug 3 years old Male Good with Dogs Good with Dog Savvy Cats Good with Kids House Trained NEEDS A 6FT FENCE Fostered in Post Falls, ID Single, short furry male ISO family to love: Hi there, I’m Willy. I used to be in a family that had a lot of noisy kids and a mom that had some personal problems. One night she got into a spot of trouble and I was with her. These scary people in dark uniforms were yelling at her and she was very angry. I became scared and wanted to protect my mom; so I showed those scary people how tough I could be by barking and snapping at them. I was so scared of them, but soon learned they were the kindest of people and they kept me safe from harm by taking me to the local pound. I didn’t like it there as I was really scared and howled and cried for my mom to come find me. From time to time, the kind ladies at the pound would let me hang out in their office and snuggle in their laps. After well over a month, I got my freedom ride with my new foster mom. After being in the slammer, I learned to show other dogs what a tough guy I am by barking and kicking dirt up with my feet. See, that is how we small fellows make ourselves look bigger. At first I really wanted to show them how brave and macho I really felt I could be. But my foster mom, dad, and my new furry sisters knew it was all bravado and saw me for who I really am. I am really a sweet, cuddly little gentleman that just wants to love someone and protect them. After being here for several days, I now feel comfortable enough to play with one of my fur sisters that are bigger than me. I like to run around in the yard with her and we wrestle a little. I even like the big black cat that is almost bigger than me too! I did feel that I had show him who was boss around here first; but I quickly learned that he really runs the show. Sometimes I try and act like I am the boss by making myself look big and tall and snapping at them – but I have no real bite behind it. My foster mom and dad call my bluff all the time by saying “stop it” or “no” and so that isn’t fun anymore. She taught me to sit and wait my turn for a treat and to slow down when I eat my food. I don’t mind if she sticks her hand in it, but I lose focus quickly and want to see what my sisters have in their bowls. They aren’t fond of that, so my foster mom makes me eat in the kennel (that is my least favorite part of the day). She also has taught me to wait at the door when she goes in and out by asking me to sit and stay. It is so hard to do! I just want to run after her because I don’t want to be without a mom again! My foster dad is a big guy that I just love and he is just as fun to cuddle with and hang out next to. I really loved it when my foster mom had company over and I got to snuggle all evening with a young man. He reminded me of my old family with kids. You see, I like kids, especially quiet and respectful ones and I hope my next family has some kids to snuggle with, play with, and protect. Even though I can be very brave, there are a couple things that scare me – but I think you should know before I come live with you. I am scared of being locked up and left behind. So, my foster mom is working on short periods of time in the kennel when she leaves. I will cry a little at first--okay well a lot--but after a few minutes I settle down. But if I hear a noise like someone is coming home, I will cry and bark until you let me out – the kennel really is not my favorite thing! My favorite thing at night is snuggling in bed between my foster mom and dad, but they don’t let me for very long. I usually snuggle under a blanket on a dog bed near one of my foster sisters. But I would love a family that I could snuggle with in bed (especially under the covers). I sleep all night without needing a break and I will alert you if I do need one by rolling on the floor to scratch my back. I am a gentleman after all and will not go potty in the house (unless you forget me)! Since I’m making this confession to you, I also have to admit that car rides make my stomach feel queasy and I have been known to lose my lunch. So short rides in town can even be troublesome and I may need some medicine to help with any kind of car ride. Before you decide to pass on meeting me, you should know I’m a very respectful dog during meal times and I will go lie down away from the table if asked. I don’t beg for your food – it is yours after all and I learned to be a gentleman. However, dog food is fair game and I used to not get it very often (I’m a skinny guy) and so dog treats and snacks will highly motivate me to do what you ask.. I'll even politely wait my turn even though I just want all of it to myself. I am also obedient. I come almost immediately when called, I can be redirected with a simple command or snap. I like to go for walks, and I’m respectful on the leash. So, that’s all about me, Willy, the brave little man searching for his forever home. Are you that home? If so, please go tohttp://www.powerofthepaw.org/dog-adoption-application to fill out an application. ADOPTION FEE: $200 includes neuter, DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Microchip, Deworm and vet check.

    Location: El Cajon, CA
Posted Breed: Pug / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). Young, loving, gentle, friendly, smart, good with kids, good with dogs, good with cats, crate trained, and housebroken - Marte’s bio really writes itself! Say hello to Marte, the 8-month-old Pug/Miniature Pinscher mix from Mexico. She was found as a stray pup wandering near a remote highway construction site, and one of the workers took pity on her and fed her. The construction worker then contacted our local rescue partner for temporary foster care before Marte made her way across the border to us in search of her forever home. Marte gets along very well with her playmates, and she enjoys going on walks with volunteers. She has an endearing underbite, adorably goofy ears, and sweet honey-colored eyes that can speak to your soul. Roughly 20 pounds at the time of her rescue, Marte will be closer to 25 pounds fully matured. Don’t miss out on your chance to make Marte a member of your family! Hobo-UPDATE ...

    Breed: Muggin
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Pug / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. UPDATE 9/11: Hobo was recently adopted into a home as an only dog. During that time he exhibited some separation anxiety and was returned to us. He is currently fostered in a home with several other dogs and shows no signs of anxiety in that situation. For this reason, we will be looking to place him in a home with another dog. _______ Little Hobo is a sweet and loving 6 year-old Pug/Min Pin mix male with a charming underbite. Some might say he has a face only a mother could love but if you’re a fan of underbites, you will find him irresistible! Hobo found himself homeless at a rural county dog shelter and made the trip to Canine Lifeline to have more time to find the perfect new home. He was in rough shape when he arrived. He was too thin, his coat was very sparse, and he had a small growth on his side that required removal. It seemed as if he hadn’t had much care in some time. We had the growth removed and the biopsy report showed that it was a grade II mast cell tumor but that it had been completely excised with surgery so no follow up treatment is necessary. The incision has healed well and he is now ready for adoption. He’s also at his ideal weight now and has a beautiful shiny coat. Hobo is a lively dog so definitely has a lot of Min Pin in his family tree. He gets along well with other dogs but might be fine as the only dog in the home too. He loves attention from his human friends. Hobo has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Hobo weighs about 20 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Hobo. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Hobo and to submit an online application. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/2015/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.
