Dog's Name: Roberta Estimated Breed : Lab/Fiest mix Approximate Age: 1 year Approximate Weight: 24 lbs Currently Living at: BOARDING Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION This sweet girl was a stray in Georgia who came to the home of an elderly woman looking for help. The poor girl had a bad cut on her leg and was very emaciated. The woman was unable to keep her but reached out for help. This wonderful girl definitely could use some TLC to make up for the life she's had so far. She is friendly with people and good with other dogs. Roberta can be skittish at first, but warms up once she gets to know you ! Medium energy. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://k-9lifesavers.org/?page_id=48 Dog's Name: Ivan Estimated Breed: Cattle dog / Chow Mix Approximate Age: Around 5-6 months Approximate Weight: 15-20 lbs Currently Living at: Foster home, with multiple dogs and a child. Adoption Fee: $350 DOG'S DESCRIPTION This poor baby is EXTREMELY scared and shy. He hides under anything he can get under and won't come out. He is not housetrained and since you can't catch him to take him out, expect lots of accidents in the house. We don't believe he has ever had human interaction and therefore it will take a considerate amount of work to get him to come to you. Ivan will need an owner with a strong understanding of dog language and training experience. He's as cute as they come, but will need plenty of dedication and patience! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and our transport costs. As part of the adoption agreement, adopters agree to get the pup spayed/neutered. K-9 Lifesavers does not cover the cost of spay/neuter for puppies 6 months or younger.
