verifiedPosted Breed: Pekingese / Papillon / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Name: Max Age: 1 year Gender: Male Breed: Pekingese / Papillon Weight: 14 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: TBD Kid friendly: Older considerate children House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: TBD Energy level: Moderate History: From a shelter in Oklahoma Adoption Fee: $350 From the Foster: Max is a very sweet boy who loves to be loved on! Cuddled, belly rubs & especially kisses on his cheeks! He is very playful, loves ripping apart stuffed chew toys & romping with his doggy housemates! He gets along great with our 7 yr old daughter, but he can play a little rough so I wouldn't recommend him for very young kiddos. I think Max would love to have a home with another small dog he can play with. Because someone is usually home here we don't crate our dogs, so Max is not crate trained but he does just fine being left alone. Max is potty trained as long as kept on a schedule- he's had the occasional accident but I wouldn't say it's a habit. Max sleeps in bed with us & generally just enjoys being close to his people. I would love to find Max a family that doesn't mind sharing their bed with him. One of Max's "quirks" is that he fancies himself quite the guard dog- when we have company over, he goes a little overboard with being protective of us & will bark & nip at new people. We are working on it & chances are, you will have to as well! (Which means, when u come to meet him- chances are he will bark! So don't be offended!) Once he warms up, he's a harmless cuddle bug! Max recently had hip surgery for a previous unknown injury- but the vet gave him a clean bill of health! Although he may walk with a bit of a limp- it does not slow him down at all! I think Max would love to find an active but laid back family , preferably with another small dog, who can help him thru his quirks!
