Posted Breed: Cairn Terrier / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat). Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Coconut is the cutest little gentleman. He is low, long and loveable. He came to us very afraid and would not let you touch him for love or doggy treats. Someone was tough on him and he had not forgotten. Now, he has a brand new outlook on life and humans and is a soul mate dog waiting to happen. Has been wonderful with our respectful grand children, volunteers and of course us. He has never been offered for adoption but we feel now is the time. He is looking for that low key human who just wants a special buddy to hang out with. Coconut is good wtih other dogs and cats here. But really, he is a people person. All he wants is to feel safe, be loved and have many yummy meals. Adoption is $250.00 and includes his neuter, shots, rabies, heart worm test, de worming treatment, bordetella, and a three week trial. If interested in Coconut, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then e-mail us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com for a meet and greet appointment. We will be showing Coconut Saturday, by appointment at our "New Leash on Life Adoption Event." He would love to meet you! Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

She would love that one stop home where she can grow up and old in her owners arms. Kiwi is a terrier/poodle mix who she is all terrier in looks. Marked like a Panda, she is just too cute for words. Kiwi is ready to meet the world, and would love continued social interaction with cats, dogs, children and strangers so she can grow up to be accepting and the best adult dog possible. She loves to play, cuddle and looks at you with love in her eyes. Kiwi is a fun loving and enjoyable girl who will give you hours of delight. Before considering a puppy, make sure that you have time in your busy life for raising a puppy (like a baby) and that you have tolerance for pee, poo and chew, a bit of puppy wailing, and that you will be able to give her things to do and think about. Puppies are fun but also work. We adopt to persons over 24 years of age, and please note we do not adopt puppies into apartments. Adoption is $375.00 which includes her spay, shots to date, rabies coupon, de worming treatment, flea and worming meds applied by the vet, and a chip. Kiwi would love a home for Xmas but can be kept until after the holiday. If interested in Kiwi, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com for a meet and greet appointment. Kiwi will be shown by appointment in Elk Grove on Saturdays or Oakland's Pet Food Express on Sunday.
