Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. No and he enjoys going for walks What kind of home would be best for me? I would do well in a lot of different homes. I am good with other dogs and cats. I haven't been around kids, but would probably do well with calm kids who are dog savvy. I have really enjoyed being a quiet, relaxed foster home with other relaxed dogs. I want to go with the flow of a calmer household and not have to keep up with a chaotic one. What is my personality like? Funny, loving, loveable, easy going! I am very go with the flow. I love to be near my people, hang out in the house, go for walks; you name it. I would be a great only dog or I am good with other dogs and cats. I'd be the perfect little boy for a first time dog owner! How do I act when I first meet new people? I have never met a stranger! I love everybody and everything! Want to snuggle? Play? Give me pets? It all sounds great to me! More tips and tidbits: I am good in the car, but sometimes need a moment to get used to things when we first get going and please don't put the windows down - it makes a really scary noise! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 5/21/2012 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. Please note - we do not ship dogs. Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Poodle (Toy) (short coat). Adoption Fee: $275.00. Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Senior girl looking for love Miss Maple was in a shelter, neglected, dirty, hopeless. No one was going to adopt her from the condition due to her condition, age and the fact that she is blind in one eye and most likely has limited sight in the other. Without a rescue, her story would have stopped there. Maple is the light of our program. She is a happy, well adjusted, grateful girl. She is sassy and loveable and navigates well in her environment. She is excellent with other dogs, kids and cats. She is super loving, appears housebroken once she knows where bathroom is and a good routine is established. Miss Maple is quiet and we have never heard her bark. Miss Maple would be an outstanding companion dog for anyone who wants a dog in their life and enjoys the love that a little dog can provide. Adoption is $275.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, heart worm test, a basic exam with the vet, bordetella, heart worm test, a de worming treatment, flea medication both applied by the vet and a chip. If interested in Miss Maple please fill out an on line form at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us for a meet and greet at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. We will show Cee-Cee on Saturday in Elk Grove. She has her paws crossed for a home soon! Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

Pearl is a little gem! We think she is just about as cute as it gets! She loves other dogs and will snuggle up with any canine who will share a bed with her. She is doing very well on house breaking and is totally crate-trained. Pearl does have her quirks, however. She needs a lot of time and patience as she does not trust people and is quite fearful about being handled. Pearl absolutely HATES being picked up. When I need to pick her up, I do so very carefully but also make sure a have a good hold on her because she will struggle, panic and try to get away. Once you have picked her up she calms down and does enjoy cuddling. She needs a very understanding person/people. She definitely needs to go to a home with another small dog to help her feel secure. Pearl is a lovely, quiet peanut who, with time and a lot of hands off love, will blossom into a sweet little companion. Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Breed: Poodle (Toy)
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Poodle (Toy) / Coton de Tulear (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $275. Please contact Janice (ljpfile05@frontier.com) for more information about this pet. Lucia's (aka Lucy)adoption donation is $275 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. She has also had a dental. If you are looking for a super sweet girl who loves to be with her people, Lucy is your gal!!! She is a velcro dog and wants to be everywhere her humans are. She isn't a lap dog but she likes to be very close and will lay near your feet. She is estimated to be about 7 yrs. young who came into a high kill shelter as a stray. She walks well on leash (unless she sees people or other dogs, then will pull to get to them), loves to go for car rides, and has good potty manners if kept on a schedule. While she would much prefer to sleep in the "big bed", she does fine in a crate at night or when her people have to be away. She does bark when her people leave so she would not be suited to apartment or condo living. Overall she is a fabulous dog who is looking for a loving home to give her the princess life she so deserves. Lucy is very good with small children who are respectful of small breed dogs. We do not have kitties in her foster home so we don't know how she would do living with a cat. She is great with all the dogs in her foster home. She still likes to play so another dog in her home would be great for her to have a play buddy but it is not necessary. Applicant with a fenced yard will be given preference as Lucy can be a bit of a door darter at first, but she will respond to the "stay" command. PLEASE NOTE: If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website, not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances. If you go to the individual webpage of our dogs, you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here: http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved. It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable. If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence. Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets. The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms. The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information. If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed. Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home. No application is approved prior to the home visit being done. At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer. We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.

I was found wandering around on my own and a kind human brought me here so I would be safe & sound and well cared for. Lucky me. You see, I am blind. But Suncoast Humane Society has arranged for me to be evaluated by a Veterinary Specialist to see just what to expect about my vision. I don't let it bother me. I'm a happy boy. And though they really care about me here at Suncoast, I truly would like to be in a comfy home making a new life for myself. Is your heart big enough to love & care for me forever?
