Posted Breed: Poodle (Toy) (long coat). Please submit an application on our website: http://allbreedanimalrescue.com/adopt-a-dog/dog-adoption-application/ Let's get to know me! Name: Buttons Breed: Toy Poodle Estimated Age/Birthdate: 8/12/2005 Weight: 7.6 pounds Good with Dogs: Appears to be Good with Cats: Unknown Good with men: Appears to be Good with women: Appears to be House trained: We are working on it Crate trained: Yes, but I do not like it Leash trained: No-we are working on it Must have a fenced in yard: No, but it would be easier Adoption Fee: $225.00 Date into Rescue: 10/11/2015 Here is my story: Wiley was one of 4 pups surrendered all at once as due to the owner's health, she could no longer care for them. He was badly matted, but after a good bath, a haircut and some good food, he is doing great. He is a very quiet, laid back little boy who loves to snuggle in a bed. While he does not have many teeth left, he loves to eat! He loves his doggie bed and spends most of his days between the doggie bed, pee pad , water bowl and will come by for an occasional pat on the head. They were all allowed to run loose, so we are in the process of figuring out this "leash thing". It is not one of his favorite things to do. As soon as I am spayed on the 28th of October, I will be looking for my forever home His ideal home is with someone who lives a quiet life and is looking for a pup to share their home. No children please, they move way too fast and are scary! Please submit an application on our website: http://allbreedanimalrescue.com/adopt-a-dog/dog-adoption-application/ All adopters must be 21 or older. All applicants must submit an application for review, which can take up to 14 days to process upon receipt. Once the preliminary application is approved a home visit is required to complete the adoption process. All adopters must enter into a legal and binding contract upon completion of the adoption. All our pets are fostered in a home, are started on crate training & with dog door training. They are also socialized with other pets in their foster home by the time of adoption. Adult dogs come with a two week trial to make sure it is a good fit.

More About Poodle (Toy) Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Now it is time for me to do the same! I need a home where my people are home a good part of the day. I really enjoy being with people and getting petted. I also sleep in the bed with my foster mom. Crate trained: Yes Leash trained: Needs to learn better leash skills. Must have a fenced in yard: Preferred but not required Adoption Fee: $250 Date into Rescue: 05/02/2017 Here is my story: Hi! My name is Yolo and I am a 3 1/2 year old, male, Dachshund mix, weighing 22 pounds. I need to lose another 3-4 pounds but I've slimmed down from 26 pounds already! I was adopted from a local shelter when I was only a year or so old. I loved my family but they were not experienced with dachshunds and needed to surrender me back to the shelter after 2ish years. :( They said they couldn't control my barking. Imagine that, a dachshund that barks!! I am a good boy in my foster home bc they are doxie people. I am totally crate trained and silent while in there. I do bark but it is easily controlled. Like most dachshunds, I am sweet, loyal, playful and stubborn! I'm tall for a doxie so not a shorty! I love my human foster sister, she is 11 and very. very dog savvy. I love playing with the dogs my size but I am intimidated by the big dogs here. I bark-bark-bark at them and that is usually the only time I bark that it bothers my foster mom. I would be best suited to a dachshund experienced home and I would love a playmate! I like children but would prefer older children 12 yrs and up. I'd love it if my new family wanted to take me for long walks or even go hiking! I can keep up! I went to live with my owner's children, who had no idea what to do with me (they were serious cat people), so they gave me blankets, food, water and left me in the garage. A friend of ABARC rescued me and now I am in an awesome foster home, waiting for my amazing, forever home. I am the Greeting Committee Chairman as I love to say "hi" to everyone! I am very good with other dogs, although I would prefer to be the light of your life. I am very good with cats, but not kids. Car rides are fantastic! I love to go for walks on a leash, exploring is lots of fun. I just love to go anywhere, anytime! My foster mom says I am a great walker. I can do about 2 miles at a time! My housetraining is really progressing (about 95%), I will look at my foster mom and then go sit by the door if I need to go out . My foster mom says I am very sweet and affectionate, belly rubs are a favorite. I am loyal to anyone who shows me love and affection. I am very comfortable in crowds and like other folks. Fetch is a real favorite, I will bring the ball back and give it to you. I also will respond to "go get a toy". While I do not like to sit on your lap, curling up right beside you is the best. I am a real people pleaser, and the sweetest dog ever. If you are happy, I am happy! My ideal home is one where someone is home part of the day and I will have lots of love. Name: Captain 2016 Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Mix Estimated Age/Birthdate: 9/18/2015 Weight: estimated to be 10 pounds Good with Dogs: A little shy Good with Cats: No Good with men: A little shy, but I am a puppy! Good with women: A little shy, but I am a puppy House trained: Appears to be Crate trained: Yes Leash trained: Working on it. Must have a fenced in yard: Yes, a physically fenced yard Adoption Fee: $250.00 Date into Rescue: 9/19/2016 Here is my story: I was surrendered to Animal Control by my owner as they were moving and are only allowed 1 dog. The other dog they have is my mom. I am pretty shy and not used to lots of people and noise. My foster mom says I need a family that has lots of experience with a shy pup, is home at least part of the day and has patience. Change is really hard for me. If you are patient, I will warm up and follow you everywhere. I also would do best in a quiet home with an older, more confident pup in the house that I can learn from. My color is also pretty unique, I am a deep, reddish gold. I do very well in the crate, and would love to find someone who can help me learn about this great, big world. No children please as they are really scary! If you have room in your heart and home for me, please go to our website and apply. For adult dogs the fee is $250. For puppies the adoption fee is $300. For dogs deemed to be seniors, for their particular breed, the adoption fee is $225. All our pets are fostered in a home, are started on crate training & with dog door training. They are also socialized with other pets in their foster home by the time of adoption. Adult dogs come with a two week trial to make sure it is a good fit.

Name: Prissy Breed: Toy Poodle/Chihuahua Estimated Age/Birthdate: 1/1/2008 Weight: 7.8 pounds Good with Dogs: Seems to be Good with Cats: Unknown Good with men: Seems to be Good with women: Seems to be House trained: Working on it Crate trained: Yes Leash trained: Working on it Must have a fenced in yard: Would be best Adoption Fee: $225.00 Date into Rescue: 10/11/2015 Here is my story: I was surrendered to these wonderful folks as my owner could not longer care for me. She had to move into assisted living and they said we could not come. I was allowed to run free before, so I am just getting used to being inside, soft beds, and this leash thing. It is a real challenge. A fenced yard would be best since I need to go to a forever home that will work with me to lean about leashes, going for walks and overcoming my shyness. I am pretty shy, but my foster mom says that if you will go very slow with me, I will overcome it and come to you. I just had a dental on 11/3/2015, so I am ready and looking for my forever home. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please go to our web page and apply!
