Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound (short coat). They call me Leon. I’m a good-looking Redbone with big soulful eyes (so I’m told) who’s just looking for someone to love me in a long-term relationship. You see, when I love, I love completely but I need some time to get to know you. Can you give me some of your time? I promise to make it worth your while. I live at EHR’s kennel but one day a week my best friend brings me to his house to hang with him and his family. Those are the best days because I get to run & run & just stretch out my long legs. It just feels so good. And I have a canine buddy who runs & plays with me, too, along with a couple of teenaged boys. I mean, those are the happiest hours of my week. And they’ve helped me learn good house manners so when you find me – and I sure hope you do – you will be impressed by what a good dog I am. I’m housetrained and I don’t jump up on the furniture – I’ve even completed a dog obedience class. I have lots of energy and I love to play with toys. I’m a good listener and I’m eager to please – all I want to do is make you happy. I’ve worked hard to become the dog I am today with a lot of help from my friends. I hope you’ll give me the chance to prove that I’m the right dog for you. Go to www.ehrdogs.org and fill out an application to adopt (or to foster if you’d just like to take things slow with me) and be sure to mention my name – LEON! I’ll be waiting at the kennel, patiently, hopefully, for you to find me & bring me home.

    Breed: Redbone Coonhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound. Note: This is a courtesy posting only! This dog is not available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Please contact Heather at Heatherthckr@aol.com for more information. Whiskey is looking for her forever home! This girl is so sweet and special. She is a Redbone Coonhound and is approximately 5 years old. She appears to have had multiple litters of puppies. She was dumped out by her owners, thin, scared, and completely covered in motor oil. She had a flea allergy that, left untreated, turned into an infection and resulted in the loss of half of her fur. After just a month of proper care, she made remarkable improvement and her fur has grown back beautifully. She loves to play and gets along great with other dogs and cats. She is completely housebroken. Whiskey would make a great farm dog! She would do best with someone who can be home with her for the majority of the day. She is working through some separation anxiety issues and does not like to be left alone. (She is not destructive. She just barks). She does wonderfully in the house. She loves soft things, and will steal pillows and blankets if she doesn’t have a stuffed animal to play with. She has had her rabies and DHPPC vaccines. At the time I rescued her, in her condition the vet was concerned about giving her too many vaccines without knowing if she was allergic to them. Before she is adopted, I will have her spayed and have the rest of her vaccines updated.

She’s a Redbone Coonhound, like the dogs from "Where the Red Fern Grows". This girl is very sweet and gentle, loves to give kisses and snuggle, and is so grateful to be rescued and off the streets! Seven will need a home that will be able to give her some time to learn some commands and have a secure yard - the nose is strong in this one. Her sweet demeanor and those ears will win you over in seconds! If you'd like to meet Seven please fill out an application and be sure to ask for her by name - SEVEN TEXAS!

    Daphne

    rescue
    Breed: Redbone Coonhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound. Daphne is one of the sweetest and goofiest dogs you'll ever meet! She is in foster care on a farm where she has been familiarized with lots of other dogs (even very small ones!) cats, horses, and chickens. She is house trained and loves lounging around with her people. She is very social and loves others dogs. Daphne is very playful with large dogs, but also gentle with small ones. She does well on a leash and thoroughly enjoys going for walks. She rides well in a car and doesn't get anxious. She also enjoys riding in a pontoon and even a kayak!!! She has learned how to "sit" on command both verbally and with a hand signal. She's not the brightest dog out there but she's got a heart of gold and tries hard. She does "bay" when she wants the other dogs to play with her and when you leave in the morning. She doesn't do it for long though and it's a soft sound, not a sharp pitched bark. Daphne's perfect home would have at least one other dog, a fenced in yard or large area for a cable (she's good at untangling herself), and someone who is patient and loving. She's affectionate and sensitive and needs someone who enjoys her company. She is up-to-date on vaccinations (recently got a 3 year Rabies vaccination), spayed, microchipped and HW+ (faint).

    LOIS

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Redbone Coonhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound (short coat). Miss Lois is also known as the “Duchess of the Couch”. It is hard work monitoring the activities of the household & squirrel patrol in the neighborhood during walks – one must take many rest breaks. We are getting to see the true personality of Miss Lois and what a sweetheart she is. She is house trained with no accidents. She loves to explore in the yard and use her excellent hound nose to search out any new scents which may get the best of her so she will need a 6 ft fence to keep her safe. She has not been kenneled in foster home and has been very respectful of the house. The current foster home has another foster dog (Joey), and two adult cats which Miss Lois pretty much ignores, unless they get too close during feeding times and she warns them with a loud bark to back off. Check out Lois playing with her foster brother, Joey, also looking for a forever home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=3_rUs95Mefc Lois walks well on a leash but you need to hold on tight because if she sees a rabbit her tracking skills/senses take over and she is off to the races. She gives many puppy kisses and when given belly rubs she sighs a deep and contented sigh. The current foster home is close to an elementary school with kids playing there during the day. When Miss Lois sees the kids, her butt starts to wiggle and the tail gets to going. As she has been introduced to kids she gets to wiggling so strong that we are still using the leash to help so that no little ones get knocked over in her excitement to love on them. The only “quirk” of Miss Lois is that she is a counter-surfer. Given the opportunity to snitch a morsel of food (or a chicken breast) off of the kitchen island, she will take it. She will require a home with a 6-ft fenced in yard as she has springs for legs and will otherwise be cruising the neighborhood looking for new friends. Lois will be a lovely addition to any family but hopefully one with older kids who will be able to play and love on her. Lois was rescued from a high intake rural outdoor shelter in Southeastern Missouri where she was an unclaimed stray & found herself on death row due to overcrowding. There is no adoption program there, her only way out was to be rescued. Lois was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. She will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure she is heartworm free. She had a cyst (non-cancerous) removed from her forehead & was also given a dental with tooth polishing for nice pearly whites. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved her life and have promised her a happy home. Lois is a Redbone Coonhound, weighs 45 lbs and is an estimated 3-5 yrs old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative and dewormed. Adoption fee is $250. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound (short coat). Hi! My name is Sandra and I'm a 6 year old Redbone Coonhound. Are you looking for a mellow and gentle companion? Look no further! I think I would be an absolutely perfect addition to any family! I am very quiet and hardly ever bark, my kennel is always spotless and I get along with other dogs. My family can have kids, dogs and maybe even cats (I haven't met one yet but I probably would just ignore them!). I don't require much exercise, I think I would enjoy short walks and then snuggling by the TV with my humans. Sound like a good match? My adoption fee is $145! If you are interested in adopting please go to our website at www.partnersforpetsil.org and fill out an online application. Adoptions are held at the O'Fallon, IL PetSmart every Saturday of the month from 11am-3:30pm and at the Glen Carbon, IL PetSmart every Sunday from 11am-3:30pm. We are also at Petco in Edwardsville Crossing on Sundays from 11:30-3:30 pm. The cats are only at Glen Carbon Petsmart. Please let us know if you are interested in a pet and we can arrange to have them meet you at one of the adoption events.
