Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Our beautiful foster Coco is ready for her forever home, she is technically a senior dog, but don't tell her that! Coco likes to go for walks and is very playful, loves her toys and bath time! Coco would do better as the only pet in her forever home, as she is extremely dog selective and NO CATS or SMALL ANIMALS for this girl! Kids over 10. Coco loves to cuddle, and is highly food motivated, she loves to sit for cookies! She does get excited to see you and jumps, but working on that behavior ! Coco is a very special girl... with LOTS OF LOVE TO SHARE! Adoption fee waived for the right family. Please visit our web site at http://www.4theloveofdog.org for all adoption information.

More About Rottweiler Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Location: Hillsboro, NH
Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Our lovely Mia joined us from NYC with a horrible skin issue (which turned out to be a very treatable form of mange). This lovely girl has spent the last month in medical foster, and is looking good now! Good with dogs, possibly cats, and school-aged kids. On 12/1 her foster mom wrote: Hi everyone my 'sad' has turned to 'glad'! Thanks to everyone who has sent me beautiful things and contributed to my care. I feel so much better and am on the fast track to a full recovery. I had a smile in my face this evening and to thank Pet Supplies Plus for allowing me to be bathed there all the time, I waited on some of their customers tonight. I heard my foster mom tell people over and over how wonderful I am. I had no idea humans could think I'm that awesome til For the Love of Dog busted me out of the shelter! I can leave medical foster next week and go stay with my new foster family til I am all better. I should be ready for adoption around Christmas. Please remember my other pals in the rescue as contributions are always needed to get us all healthy and ready for our new homes. Thank you for my new life and happy tale!!! Breed: Rottweiler
Sex: Male Male
Age: Adult
Location: Hillsboro, NH
Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Nero is a dignified 6 year old rottie boy with a secret puppy side he occasionally shares. Especially with women. He walks nicely on leash, but he really enjoys walking on a long lunge line where he can explore and check out the scents. He’s not a big boy, but he is solid and well built. He has lived comfortably with a male and female dog in the foster home but absolutely should not live with cats. He can be redirected and is responsive and wants to bond. He has basic manners and doesn’t climb on the furniture, though he probably would like to be invited. Nero enjoys training sessions. He is protective and will need to know his person or people are confident, however he is a sensitive dog too. He is crate trained and seems to be house broken, but he will need some continued assistance in remembering the rules, including not to counter surf or sneak goodies from the recycling bin. Home living is still new. He loves being near his people and laying near somebody’s feet and he occasionally will roll over for a belly rub or two, if nobody is looking. Nero would love to be somebody’s forever friend. He is waiting for you! Originally from Puerto Rico, Nero is enjoying his first winter. He will do best with kids over 12. No cats or small dogs, please. Please visit our web site at http://www.4theloveofdog.org for all adoption information.

Breed: Rottweiler-Unknown Mix
Sex: Female Female
Location: Hillsboro, NH
Posted Breed: Rottweiler / Mixed (medium coat). Layla is a super sweet LOYAL dog that's absolutely loves her parents! She's a cuddler, she's a kisser, and she's very protective. When Layla first came to us, she was a little shy and wasnt very confident. That lasted about a week and after that she had made herself right at home. Layla has never been aggressive to her parents and does well at boarding as well. She has been aggressive with others as she feels the need to take on a protective role. She doesn't do well with other dogs. Her former owner says that she was good with cats. She's a smaller size dog who is in great shape. She seems like she has eaten by grazing in the past, but also is doing well being fed twice a day. Layla is a sweet Family protector! Layla loves to play fetch and tug,,, and does play a lot! She is a toy shredder tho! Lol Sweet, clean, loving and very cute! That's our Layla!!! Her ideal home would be where she is an only dog and parent/s that understand Dogs and how to properly handle a dog. Location: Hillsboro, NH
Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Bring Joy to your world. $25 adoption fee in December. Hazel is an approximately 3 year old rottie who came in as a stray at a shelter in Maryland. Hazel is the dog that we currently use as out “tester dog” with other dogs, meaning that we expose her to other dogs that we would like to see how social that dog is. Hazel is also quick to befriend people. She really is a sweetie and very playful. Hazel has had chronic ear infections and even though they've been treated, she can be sensitive about her head. Because of this, an adult home is preferred. Other dogs are encouraged. I previously lived in a home with kids and another Rottweiler and I would love to find my place in the world again. I have a lot of gas left in my tank and am in very good health! Age is just a number right?!!! Allentown PA foster home - local applicants are encouraged to apply. Please visit our web site at http://www.4theloveofdog.org for all adoption information. Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Hi I'm Zoey I am a 6 year old girl with alot of spunk. I'm a Texas girl who wound up at the shelter through absolutely no fault of my own. I was obviously someone's loved pet because I was already spayed and heartworm negative when I was surrendered to the shelter. I am oh so calm and sweet natured. I am very friendly to dogs my size. I have not been with any small dogs except some puppies and I wasn't keen on them. Kids! They can be so rowdy! No cats please. I would fit in any home where a quiet affectionate dog is wanted. I love to cuddle and hang out with my humans. Please visit our web site at http://www.4theloveofdog.org for all adoption information.

Breed: Rottweiler

Location: Hillsboro, NH
Posted Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). New! Arrives in late October. Hi I'm Lorelei! Through no fault of my own I fell on hard times and wound up in the shelter in a neglected state. But since I was rescued, I can see that my life is going in a whole new direction and I am feeling much better. I am a somewhat reserved but very affectionate girl who is 4-5 years old looking for the family who will never again let me down. It's obvious to my foster mom that I have been starved at some point because I eat every meal like I am never going to see food again. For this reason if I go into a home with another dog, I will need to eat in a crate alone for awhile until I figure out that food is always coming around. It's a very fixable thing! I walk so nicely on a leash and I sit on command! I might be ok with a cat since they don't really interest me and I don't try to chase them. I am a sweet soul who just needs my place in the world and some kind people who can help me know that I will never miss another meal! (Note from Lorelai's foster: Lorelei continues to be a big sweetheart. I messed with her food bowl and even felt comfortable putting my hand in while she was eating. Zero reaction. Her food guarding is limited to other dogs. She is a delight to be around and has great leash manners! Very adoptable.) Lorelai was found as a stray in Kentucky. This sweet girl is 4-5 years old and 74 lbs. and is polite to everyone.
