Posted Breed: Saint Bernard (medium coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Ann- Ann is a stunning saint girl. She is a great dog and we adore her. She is still young and not even a year old yet. She has come through so much and really deserves a good home for the rest of her life. She is a great girl and absolutely stunning. She is a great girl and we adore her. She is going to make someone an amazing pet. She just wants to be loved and cuddled. She has come through so much and we know that she is going to make someone a great dog. We adore her and she truly grows on you in a short time. She has come so far and we just want to see her get better and better. She is a stunning white girl with brown spots and some black on her face. She has natural ears and tail and is a doll. Andy and Ann came to us from high kill shelter in southern Ca. They were turned in by their owners who did not have time to care for them and did not seem to have any intention to care for them either. The two dogs were in horrific shape. They were less then half their recommended body weight. Scared, full of fleas and infection, and was missing most of their hair. They also had clearly been abused and the brother and sister had been bred together. It was a mess. Luckly the shelter is an amazing one and we love working with them. They are great dogs and we know the deserve a great home and a family that loves them. We WILL NOT PUT THEM IN THE SAME HOME! Siblings deserve a chance to be their own dog, and they are so fearful with each other and sister beats up on brother that they need their own families. Ann is a darling girl who just wants to be loved. She has come from such a rough start that she knows what a good home really is worth. She is a happy playful girl and the more she feels better the more playful she gets. She is a great dog and we adore her. She loves to hang out, is great with people and loves other dogs. She does good as an only dog or part of a pack. She has even done well with the few cats she has been exposed to. We think she would do well with kids, but not small kids under 5 as she does not watch where she goes. A kid with large dog experience who is ok being knocked over would likely do well. She is a great dog who really just wants to be loved and have a forever home. Ann is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, and altered. She is a happy healthy girl who just needs to continue gaining weight as she came to us very emaciated. She had big bald patches from her condition and flea infestations. She is now a happy healthy girl who just needs a home that will love her. She is working on house breaking, doing great with crate training, and does ok on leash. She is working on basic commands, and is very food motivated. So she learns fast if cookies are involved. She is an amazing girl who is just looking for a forever home. Her hair has come in soft and is growing back thicker then ever. She is a doll. She loves attention and her wounds are all healed. She has come so far and we love her. She just needs a family that will help her heart heal as well as her body. She is a great dog and loves attention and to be where ever her family is. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    Nelson

    rescue
    Breed: Saint Bernard
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Saint Bernard / German Shepherd Dog (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. Looking for a big dog who fancies himself as a lap dog? That’s our Nelson, a 2 year-old St. Bernard/Shepherd mix male, who just could not be any sweeter. Nelson weighs about 79 pounds now but is thin and is working on gaining 10-20 pounds to be at his ideal weight of 90-100. We have no history on this sweet boy but he is very eager to please and super food-motivated. He will sit and shake hands for a treat and can catch treats on the fly like a pro. Nelson gets along great with other dogs but can be protective of his food around them at mealtime so if there are other dogs in the home, they should be fed separately. He seems to be fine with cats and pretty much ignores them. Nelson especially loves being close to his human friends. During his photo shoot, he jumped right up on the little bench to sit next to his friend. Nelson loves to cuddle and will happily keep his family very cozy on cold winter nights. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Nelson. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Nelson and to submit an online application. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/2015/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.

Posted Breed: Saint Bernard (short coat). Hi, I'm Yogi! I'm about five years old, and I'm looking for my forever home. If you're looking for a couch potato, I'm your man! Snoozing on a soft couch or bed is my favorite thing to do... alllll day. I'm a "serious" kind of guy - not super silly, and I won't knock you over with a constantly wagging tail. But don't let the sad face fool you; I love to play with my people outside and I LOVE a good scratch-down! I'm pretty neutral toward other dogs and cats - I don't really care if they're there or not. I'm good with kids, but laid-back or older kids would probably be best for me. Too much commotion wears me out! I'm currently taking medicine twice a day for thyroid issues and a seizure history, plus supplements for my skin and coat. I take my pills very nicely with a treat! I'll even sit if you tell me to. Are you my forever person? ❤ Adoption fee is $400.

    TURBO

    Breed: Saint Bernard
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Franklin, TN
Posted Breed: Saint Bernard / American Bulldog. Meet Your Match Evaluation: Orange-Busy Bee – “I’m a naturally playful, curious and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my job’s done, I’ll curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings.” There is a Broadway musical called “The Most Happy Fella," and that is a perfect description of our wonderful Turbo! This big-hearted, life-loving dog will be such a great part of the family lucky enough to take him home! He is five years old and weighs around 85 pounds. Turbo's pure white coat is beautifully marked with brown patches, spots and speckles. The first thing you notice about him are Turbo's two different colored eyes - one is azure blue, and the other is hazel brown. There is a legend that says dogs with two different color eyes can see both heaven and earth. We love this amazing sentiment! Turbo does very well on a leash, considering his size and strength. He loves his outings in the shelter yard, where he especially enjoys running around and playing with the tennis balls. Turbo has such a gentle, good-natured personality and loves to be petted and have his head rubbed. He will sit and gaze at you adoringly, which is sure to capture your heart! Because of his protective nature, he will need to be the only animal in his new family, where he will be the king of his castle! Turbo would also do best in a home without small children. One of our dedicated volunteers reports: “I adore this amazing dog! Turbo is so much fun to be around and I love the perfect symmetry of his gorgeous face. Once we are done with his walk and playtime, Turbo sits at my side to be petted and is a very special cuddle buddy. He has so much love to give and is very affectionate! Turbo is one of the first dogs I take out in the morning!” E-ail wcacngels@yahoo.com for more information! E-mail wcacangels@yahoo.com for more information!

    Breed: Saint Bernard

Posted Breed: Saint Bernard (long coat). Meet Max! Max is a 5 year old Saint Bernard. He was listed for free on Craig's List. Max had been kept outdoors for over a year in a barn stall so he was in rough shape when he was rescued. He only weighed 90 pounds due to several types of worms and parasites in his stool. He had double ear infections which are healing. His mouth had several teeth that were rotten and he was in a fair amount of pain from the infection. His fur so matted that he had to be shaved over his entire body. Fast forward to day....Max is a happy, loving, big, goofy boy! He has gained about 20 pounds, has been fully updated on his vaccines, had his stool infections treated, and his ear infections are close to cleared up. He had a dental cleaning completed and ended up losing 5 teeth. Max does well with other dogs as long as there is no food or treats around. He doesn't like to share. We can't blame him, he probably didn't get enough to eat at the barn he was at. Max is great with kids of all ages....he was raised for 4 years with a special needs child and has been around a one year old, a 4 year old, and a 12 year old and has done fantastic. He is a bit curious about cats but seems to leave them alone. If you would like to consider adding Max to your family, submit an app today! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Posted Breed: Saint Bernard (medium coat). Meet our stunning space adventurer Han SOLO! Our journey began with Han a year ago when he was seized by Animal Control with his sister Leia. Han & Leia were kept in a small home in which they were used for backyard breeding. This duo landed at Yonkers Animal Shelter and due to their physical state we knew we have to jump in and help. Han & Leia were both severely underweight and their fur was in poor condition. It is unclear what their previous life was exactly like but we could make out just from their appearance that it was not the most humane situation. As they settled in we quickly realized the affects of poor breeding and upbringing the two had suffered. As Han settled he became very protective of his space and unsure how to interact with newcomers. Leia was adopted three months after coming into our care but we decided that Han needed to have more time with us so we could put into place an effective training plan and management strategy. The staff in charge of Han’s training quickly realized his potential and how eager he was to please his human. From leash manners to advanced commands like a “leave it”, Han surpassed all of our expectations and has become a staff favorite. He takes training challenges in stride and with his favorite snacks as motivation he accomplishes any goals we set for him. Once you have taken the time to get to know Han you quickly realize how goofy and special he truly is. After the slobbery kisses and clumsy hugs you will never know he has gone through so much in his short life. He favorite pass times are taking a nice stroll in the snow or sun bathing on his back. He is a true gentlemen on leash and will sit patiently to come out of his kennel run. Due to his size we are looking for an adopter that has had experience with the breed and/or similar large breeds. An adopter that is willing to put in the time to learn and understand the training we have put into place to manage his behavioral challenges. As a true space smuggler he will steal your heart. He is patiently awaiting his co-pilot. Chewy, are you out there?
