Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption fee is $100, this dog is approx. 1.5 yrs old and is about 55 pounds Hi My name is Sasha, I like my people, I like some of the boy doggies to not so much for the girl dogs or the smaller fuzzy critters. I would do fine with another boy dog similar size to play with or as a only dog. I am active but not surper hyper like some huskies. I would love to be a part of your family.. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines after you send your application. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system(cost approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Some of our dogs we will require this prior to adoption due to known escape habits or the type of fencing you have. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when there needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Also we likely have other Huskies or Malamutes for adoption find out by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. The adoption fee is $100. This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . Important Please do not use the "Adopt/Contact Me" buttons generated by the Adoptable pet websites, read details below: You can submit an Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below(if visible) or visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to start your interest in adoption. Please look over our website for information and questions you have in regards to adoption, you can also look at all of our pets in our rescue as well on our HOME PAGE. Siberian Husky

A.K.A. : Chukcha, Chuksha
Overview: The Siberian Husky is very similar in looks to the Alaskan Malamute, yet somewhat smaller in build and not quite as bold. Still, he needs a strong-willed owner who will stay in control. This dog loves to roam and explore, so he needs a nice big yard.
Breed Group: Working
Weight (lbs): male: 45-60, female: 35-50
Height (in): male: 21-23.5, female: 20-22
Colors: All colors from black to pure white.
Coat: Coat is double-layered and medium-length. The guard hairs of the outer coat are straight and somewhat smooth lying. The undercoat is soft and dense and of sufficient length.
Character: Siberian Huskies are not particularly good watch dogs, because they want to befriend everyone they meet. They love to roam and are full of energy and independence.
Temperament: This breed gets along well with other Huskies, but they need to be trained carefully if they're to be kept with other household pets. They will not get along with cats or other small animals, though they do well with children.
Care: Its coat needs brushing one or two times a week, daily during periods of heaviest shedding.
Training: This breed is very intelligent and independent. Handlers should take this into consideration and use patience and understanding during training.
Activity: The Siberian Husky needs to be involved in physical activities and requires a well-fenced yard. If they are not kept active, they can be very destructive and noisy.
Country of Origin: Russia
Health Issue: This breed is relatively healthy, but some have heart disease and eye problems, along with dermatitis.
Life Expectancy: 11-13

More About Siberian Husky Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog-Redbone Coonhound Mix
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Redbone Coonhound / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat). MOLLY Breed: Redbone Coonhound & Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix / Adoption fee is $100 / Sex: Female / Age: Approximately 3 yrs old, DOB 12/17/14 / Weight: Approximately 50 - 55 pounds Molly is a sweet girl that was actually adopted from Pet Angels as a puppy. She was returned to the rescue at a year old. As a puppy, her previous family was unable to use training methods to address oncoming behavior problems. Instead of working with her, it developed into something they were not interested in addressing. So the family returned Molly 1 year later with a label as "not good with kids". Molly has since settled in well at the rescue, though she can be a little nervous with new surroundings and people. Molly's caregivers at the rescue have been working with her by taking her places to get her more adjusted and less fearful. She is a young, sweet girl and is making great progress due to her sweet personality, but will continue to need consistent, relationship-based training. In Molly's first year of life she was never well socialized with people or dogs and became nervous in new places. She developed resource guarding with chew bones and her food. She is good with other dogs, but due to the issues in her previous home, she will do best in a home without young kids. If Molly goes home with a person or a family willing to work with her, she will surely blossom into the dog that she is meant to be. Molly has had her age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration that also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance Important: Please do not use the "Adopt/Contact Me" buttons generated by the Adoptable pet websites, read details below: You can submit an Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to start the adoption process. Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). HOPPER - COURTESY LISTING Breed: American Pit-bull Terrier / Adoption fee is $50 / Sex: Female / Age: Approximately 6 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 35 - 40 pounds Hopper is a courtesy listing because her current caregiver needs to find her a new home. Please understand that the process for adopting a courtesy listing is different from our normal adoption process due to the pet not being in our care. Hopper is affectionate and loves to give you kisses. She really enjoys car rides and will hang her head out while her tongue just flaps in the wind! She's a dog who really appreciates snuggles and belly rubs. She will crawl right in your lap for love and attention. Hopper has lived as an outside dog in an enclosed kennel for most of her life, but with some basic house training and patience she is a quick learner and would love to be in a home. Hopper has been known to be reactive towards other animals and is picky with her doggie friends and would be best as an only dog or may possibly get along with a male dog. She has not lived around a cat and has not been cat tested. She is not in the care of Pet Angels Rescue, however Pet Angels offers courtesy listings so that a dog can stay in their current home with the goal of not having to go to a shelter, before rehoming occurs. Please note that due to Hopper not being in our rescue's care we can't confirm, although we require, that courtesy pets must be current on all vaccines, and spayed or neutered prior to Pet Angels listing the pet as a courtesy. Any additional medical needs discovered after adoption will be at the expense of the adopter. Since this is a courtesy listing and not a Pet Angels Rescue dog we encourage you to take this dog to your vet to receive a test for heart worms and any other possible internal parasites as well as obtain an update on vaccinations if needed. We require the current caregiver to provide vaccination and medical records at the time of adoption. Important: Please do not use the "Adopt/Contact Me" buttons generated by the Adoptable pet websites, read details below: You can submit an Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to start the adoption process. Breed: Siberian Husky-Unknown Mix
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / Mixed (medium coat). BONDED PAIR -CORA & AKIRA - MOTHER & DAUGHTER Breed: Cora is a Husky and Akira is a Husky Mix / Adoption fee for the pair is $100 / Sex: Female / Ages: Cora is 6 yrs old & Akira is 4 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 50 to 60 pounds Cora & Akira are favorites at the rescue because this mother and daughter pair have an incredible bond that can't be broken. Why they haven't found a forever home by now is a mystery. There's absolutely nothing wrong with these sweet girls. In 2012 Pet Angels pulled these girls out of the OKC shelter after they were picked up together as strays. These beautiful girls were quickly adopted together, but sadly 4 years later, they were returned to our rescue. The family moved and their new home would not accept dogs. Cora and Akira live with other similar sized dogs at the rescue in a group environment and are always together. Cora, the mom, is a beautiful, husky that is a bit shy and cautious at first but will warm up quickly and then show you her sweet personality. She loves people and will be a very loyal companion. She is the first to greet and welcome you in her dorm and will give you kisses. She loves treats and will sit on command. Cora can run and chase a ball and is always up for a dog friendly competition to see who can get to the ball first. True to her husky traits she howls when she hears a siren and has a strong prey drive and will chase cats, squirrels and other small critters. Cora is searching for a devoted home for her and her daughter in hopes that it is a forever home. Akira is a husky and we assume, but are not sure, little bit Shepherd mix. She loves to have her belly rubbed and is a playful, sweet girl. Akira loves people as long as you will let her give you a lot of kisses. And her favorite thing is to get to go to the park and run really fast, as long as her mom gets to go with her. She also likes treats just like her mom and will also sit on command. Akira's shepherd side is watchful and will alert you with a bark, but she will also join her mom when she howl's at a siren. Cora and Akira have not shown any escape habits while at the rescue and seem to do fine with a 4 ft to 6 ft fenced in yard. All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines after you send your application. Posted Breed: Husky / Siberian Husky / Mixed (medium coat). LUNA Breed: Agouti Alaskan Husky / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Female / Age: Approximately 3 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 50 pounds Luna is an exotic and beautiful dog who loves every person she meets. She is affectionate and will lean in for attention and love for as long as you will give it to her. Luna will bond deeply with whoever gives her attention and would do best as an only dog or possibly with another similar sized male dog. She does do well with other dogs at the dog park. Luna prefers people over dogs so when someone is paying attention to her she prefers to have you all to herself. She doesn't like to share her toys and guards her food bowl, and she really doesn't like it if you start paying attention to another dog. Luna will not do well in a home with another female dog because she is an alpha. However she lives at the rescue in a dormitory with several other dogs and does well with them until someone is paying attention to her and then she will growl to keep the other dogs away from you. Luna would make a great running or hiking partner and needs an active home that understands the husky working breed. She is calm and well behaved but willI need a secure yard and fence like most huskies. Luna is smart and receptive and would do great with someone that can provide guidance and training to help her with over protection. She is a playful and active girl that loves to swim and chase squeaky balls. Luna was not scared by the loud noises on the fourth of July so she is not easily alarmed. Despite her wanting all of your attention, she does play well with the other dogs so trips to the dog park would be great. Luna has been at the rescue for too long and would make someone a great companion. She is loving and is ready for a new family to call her own. Would you be that family? NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application. A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind. Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, knowing they have a history of escaping and will either jump or climb over your current fencing. For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours. Northern Breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities. They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging and if not exercised they may be hard to contain when their needs are not met. He is an aussie mix with a lot of energy and loves to play and carry around a ball. He has shown to have aussie herding traits and would do best in an active home with someone who is experienced with working breeds. Kamo plays well with the other dogs at the rescue, but he seems to be picky with other male dogs. Kamo loves people and is a very loyal dog to his caregivers, but with his high herding drive he would do well in a home with children over 10 because running and playing in a yard may trigger him to nip at legs. He has a sweet docile side as well so he is quite adaptable. Kamo would likely do better in a home with another dog as he does not like to be alone. He does well inside with the use of a doggy door and hasn't shown any marking when transitioning through the shelter. Kamo has not been cat tested so we are unsure of his prey drive. ALEXIS Breed: German Shepherd Dog & Lab Mix / Adoption fee is $100 / Sex: Female / Age: Approximately 1.5 yrs old / Weight: 45 pounds Alexis is affectionate and loves people. She will greet you by leaning against her kennel door so you can rub her head. Alexis came to Pet Angels after she was found roaming and decided to pick a random house for her new home during freezing weather one winter. Alexis is lovable and playful and will stay in a crate, but she will bark at you to let you know she sees you! She is young and smart and will be easy to train on basic commands and house manners. Alexis would love the company of another male dog and a back yard to play in but it needs to have a secure fence because remember she likes to roam! While at our rescue she has been good around other male dogs but would do best in a home with no other female dogs. She does fine with other female dogs if she goes to a dog park to play or doggie daycare, but she would rather not live with another female! Breed: Husky-Labrador Retriever Mix
      Sex: Male Male
      Age: Adult
      Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). ENZO Breed: Labrador Retriever & Husky Mix / Adoption fee is $100 / Sex: Male / Age: Approximately 3 - 4 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 65 pounds Enzo is a fun loving Huskador and is a good mix of both breeds. He is a handsome and stunning boy that will steal you heart in no time flat. He is active and fun and has a great skill at catching treats in the air. Enzo did get the husky skills of being a roamer so he will need a home with a secure yard and appropriate fencing. Enzo does ok with other dogs but is best matched with a neutered male or a female dog of similar size. He does show a decent prey drive so he wouldn't be good around small pets/dogs under 25 lbs or very submissive dogs or cats. Enzo would love a home that's as active and fun as he is. NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx $100) this is quite often needed to prevent digging, climbing or chewing through fences. Please learn a little more about the breed on our website Home Page. Pet Angels has a number of northern breeds available for adoption and you can see them all by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. Enzo has had his age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration that also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance Important: Please do not use the "Adopt/Contact Me" buttons generated by the Adoptable pet websites, read details below: You can submit an Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to start the adoption process. Sex: Female Female
      Age: Adult

Posted Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound (medium coat). Please contact Tina for more information about this pet. Adoption fee is $100, this dog is approx. 2 yrs old and about 40 pounds My name is Sophia. I am very sweet & want to have a family of my own. I have a lot of love to give, but need patience while I learn what "normal" dog life means. I will need to be worked with on things like leash walking, potty training, crate training, manners in the house, & food obsession. I like to be the boss so I need a brother dog that is more submissive to romp around with. I could also be an only dog for a family willing to be active with me. I am pretty under weight right now due to the circumstances I came from, but I will fill out nicely now that I have regular food, water, & care. Once I have put on the needed weight I will be closer to 50lbs. If you are interested in adopting me you can contact my pal Tina to learn more at td1278@hotmail.com. The adoption fee is $100.This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance .
