She is a shy girl and is slowly warming up to life in a home. Her favorite thing to do is play fetch and snuggle with her person. She also loves to run in the yard; although, she can be a couch potato, too! She is accepting of children and other dogs, as long as they are not too loud or rambunctious and are respectful of her space. She can become frightened with a lot of commotion, so a calm household is ideal for her. She is crate and house trained. She will occasionally bark when scared in the kennel, but is otherwise really great in her crate! She is learning commands for ‘sit’ and ‘come’. She walks on a leash regularly and is a practicing good leash walking and will be a pro in no time! She is fine with cats and loves her people. When she has time to warm up, she does well with new situations and people. She would do well with dog training classes geared toward timid dogs. Bianka is coming out of her shell and learning the wonders of her new world. She would love a furever home where she can overcome all her fears and just be the dog she was meant to be! Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. verifiedPosted Breed: Vizsla (short coat). Junebug is active and smart. She would love to hike, run and go on many adventures. She also loves the water and has the confidence to try new things. Because she's so active and eager, she may find non-productive or obsessive activities to occupy herself if she gets bored. Therefore, she'll need to find an active person or family. Junebug came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner shelter. She was born in 2012 and has tested positive for heartworm disease, so she'll begin treatment at the Sanctuary. This sweet, fun girl has done well with all dogs she's met here at Dogtown. She is currently working on improving her manners and recall, overcoming barrier reactivity and staying entertained with lots of enrichment at the Sanctuary.

verifiedPosted Breed: Vizsla / American Staffordshire Terrier (short coat). Maggie is a mixed-breed, predominately Pit-Viszla, about-1-year old dog, weighing in at roughly 45 pounds. She is an incredibly sweet, eager-to-please dog. She will chase cats if they run from her, but does not act aggressively when just in the same room. She is generally disinterested unless there is something to chase. Maggie’s foster have found her to be sweet, obedient, house-trained, and a generally happy, good dog. She has never been destructive when left alone in the house, and loves tennis balls, tug of war, treats, and generally just running around having fun. She loves being outside, but is totally fine chilling in the house when it's time to chill. She sits and stays (pretty well) and wants to get better at both. She loves kids and other dogs, and is not dominant towards them. She is a lapdog of the highest order and loves to be petted and loved. She doesn't bark excessively and is a clean dog that doesn't smell. Maggie would be very happy in a house with a yard where she can chase birds and play with other dogs and kids. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Maggie is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
