Description
This is Smokie Joe, he is approx. 2 years old. He is blue with gold eyes. He loves car rides, tug o' war and climbing/running up trees for fun. (Only when prompted to do it and usually in an attempt to catch birds or squirrels). He is a great cuddle bug. His favorite spot is right next to you no matter if that is laid at your feet, curled up on the couch (half way into your lap) or hanging onto the middle console while you take a car ride adventure. He really just loves spending time with you no matter what you're doing. He has been with us for about a year now, sadly he was malnourished and neglected when we found him. He has put weight on and is overall a really great best friend. He is ready to find him a forever home looking for a large dog that has time to take him on walks, car rides, and whatever other adventures. He is up for it! A few things we have learned about Smokie joe in the year we have cared for him: he is not a cat kind of dog, he would make a great bird/squirrel dog (if you have the time and knowledge to train him), he is not food motivated, however, he is motivated by toys and positive reinforcement. He is house trained and kennel trained but he suffers from mild separation anxiety (howling/barking/whining while in kennel if he can hear noise elsewhere in the home or outside- he thinks he is missing out).
