Description
Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). We don't know Willow's exact age but the vet has estimated her to be about 16 months (Feb 2023). We think she was born around October 2021. Her foster’s daughter her brought her home when she was still a tiny puppy. Around February of 2022 she developed a bone infection that wasn't resolved with IV antibiotics and she ended up having to have a back leg amputated. The day after surgery when she got home you couldn't tell that she was bothered not having the leg. She ran, jumped and was still her athletic, energetic self. She gets along with our other dogs but is fed separates, since she can sometimes be too protective of her food. She has made me laugh more often and harder than anyone or anything else ever has. She is just plain fun & silly. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at .dfwrescueme/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Willow is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.
